  • @gabriel221050 I know nothing about bee keeping. I have no hives and my intent here is to learn. So why are you so upset? It seems fair to me that, if we intend to take honey from the bees, it is fair to give back. No?

  • wow that is alot of bees

  • the bees care not one jot. and who are you to pontificate over this man opinion of himself?.... your user name is very apt

  • Ya im sure the bees really care about how their house looks and where they are in this guys backyard.

  • You don't see it is all old epty beeehives ready to pe restaured and returned to medows omg are you expected him to beekeep in hes garden lol

  • So fancypants, other than not knowing anything about beekeeping other than what you have seen on the bee movie, It show's you know nothing about beekeeping

  • This guy has interresting videos , wow thats alot of bee hives.

  • i'll take your advice and look into my local beekeeping community, but i must ask why do you say that he is in no position to become a teacher of beekeeping??

  • hives dont need to be cleaned, the bees clean up after themselves

  • Can bees be used as weapons? random qeustion but I'm just curious.

  • yes against the queen of england. WE all know shes a wasp. IM sure in some manner they could be. Thats why in some cases you need a license to bee keep.

  • no they cant

  • My dad's a beekeeper. It is so fun!

  • what is the syrup comprised from?

  • just sugar and water

  • Not just water and sugar....

You should also consider Fumagilin B.

FUMAGILIN-B has action against Nosema apis, a microscopic, single celled parasite which causes nosema disease in honey bees.

To make 2 gallons of syrup

    1 part sugar

    1 part water

    2 tsp Fumagilin B

  • oh okay. thanks!

  • Why feed the bees? Honey is their food. I think this degrades the quality of the honey produced. It's like feeding cows horse shit and then expecting your hamburger to taste delicious.

  • when feeding your trying to start a hive your not collecting honey from them yet.

  • your ignorance shines out from your comment

  • How are the hives cleaned out?

  • On a warm day in the spring, both boxes [hive bodies] are removed and the bottom board is scraped off with a hive tool. Often, the top box is put back in the bottom position [reversing the hive bodies] at the same time to encourage the bees who are now in the bottom box to move up slowly to the upper.

  • These are "Boardman" feeders, and are the worst choice for feeding colonies. The guy is right--they do cause "robbing" by other colonies. Most beekeepers prefer division board feeders, top feeders or inverted jars placed INSIDE the colony.

Boardman feeders do make good waterers, though, on hot days.
