@vidic543 If you mean hammer-on/pull-off (HOPO), i.e. being able to play some notes by simply changing the left hand position (frets), that is always enabled in Performous. Only notes with a white lit sphere on them can be played this way, other notes need to be picked.

I just downloaded Performous today and downloaded a ton of songs in ultrastar format but how do you get them into the right directory? I'm in Ubuntu 10.04, I get to the directory folder but can't put files in there due to permissions. I tried creating a new folder in the usr/ folder in my home folder but nothing

@AnarchistsAnnonymous You may put your songs in subdirectories of ~/.local/share/games/performou­s/songs/ (~/.local is equivalent to /usr or to /usr/local). Depending on your distribution that could also be ~/.local/games/share/performou­s/songs/ (share and games in different order). Notice that this folder will not exist by default and you need to create it.

Can I play with a wii drums and guitar (wireless band hero) in Ubuntu 10.04? I've connected the wiimote to laptop with cwiid, modified the config.xml, and nothing... I tried to play a drum module midi-USB, and the same... How to setup (if its necessary) the MIDI drum mapping? Where I get detailed info? Please, help me. Thanks!

@xenigeo I don't think anyone has tried those devices before and they might not be supported. If you can visit our irc channel and give us some information, we can make Performous auto detect your devices as well :)

@p41n90d Can't remember, something from Youtube AudioSwap library. My camera does not record sound properly, so I could not use original audio (and there could have been copyright issues as well).

@ArkBlitz We plan to, but currently there are no such songs and also the game still lacks support for dance notes in the FoF file format, required for combining dance with other types.

@Tronic358 I thought of a "meta-file" that included the name of the song file, FoF file, StepMania file, background song, off-vocal song, needed soundfonts, and so on.

@ArkBlitz Different versions of the same song cannot usually be combined. SingStar uses music video versions, RB/GH might use album version and dance games use a short edit that fits in two minutes. If the notes were simply combined, they would be off-sync. Performous does not use soundfonts.

@Tronic358 Yep, usually. But, if somebody used the same full version for song, instruments, and dance, it could be done. I have seen full versions of songs for StepMania, they last around four minutes and are marked as "long versions" or "marathon versions". It is doable, but nobody has coordinated that, which is a shame.
