@devidia that's called "to be smart" you stupid ass. It's not "The World Championship of doing the most during the race", it's about crossing the finish line first.
@nuglefil i am only satisfied if the one who really deserves to win, actually wins. i'm not saying he wasn't good. but just following the pack and then sprinting for 200m just doesn't gain much glory.
@devidia Thor hushovd deserved the victory. He did more than you think, he closed gaps and had to work really hard to stay in front the last kilometers, he did what he had to do, wait for the sprint, because that was his only chance. When you are a sprinter and has only got TWO riders of Norway to help you, it's really impressive to be able to fight for the victory in a hard course like that. Gilbert did his chance, he knew he couldn't sprint that well, so he went for the win earlier.
@nuglefil he closed gaps because he had to let the better riders go! he wasn't the best rider in the race, thus not the deserved winner. end of discussion
specify "the best rider ", is it the smartest? Strongest? The luckiest? A combination?
Thor Hushovd was obviously the smartest, Gilbert the strongest. So this time, the smartest won.
You can say whatever you want, but Thor Hushovd is World Champion, right up in your jealous face ;D
Yours Sincerely,
Proud Norwegian

@nuglefil Dont get me wrong, I love Gilbert, but that course wasn't hard enough for him, I think he will be a WC- winner once.
