  • And that's why she's not mainlining again - she can only pull 5 coaches including her support coach at that kind of speed - it's just not economical. By heck she's a good loco to crew though! Especially in nice weather

  • Great Video, 5 Stars!

  • Amazing performance from such a small loco!

  • @JimTLonW6 On this, her record breaking ascent of Dainton with 5 coaches, performance experts on board, calculated that City Of Truro was banging out 1100 DBHP!!! Staggering for a 2 cylinder 4-4-0 of 100 years young!

  • Short, but very, very impressive.

  • Good to see the old girl has still got it.

  • By 'eck, she's going some for 100 years old, isn't she.

  • who do you think would win in a three way race? the city of truro, the flying scotsman, or the mallard.

  • Well, at this moment in time, Truro, as Mallard aint working, and cotsman is still in bits!! Lol!!

  • what do you mean in bits, like, in the scrap yard? or in an accident.

  • Being restored at the Railway Museum in York, saw the main frames there last year whilst I was visiting

  • Awesome.. Like someone below Said, Over 100 years old and still on top form. Probably wouldnt beat the Flying Scotsman Or The Mallard, But Lets face it, The City Of Truro was built over 100 years ago, compered to the mallard/flying scotsman who was built over 70 years ago! GWR 4Ever!! Cept First Great Western... (Brunel Is Turning in His Grave At The Fact Great Western Is Being Used As a Name for a such a Rubbish Franchise!

  • I couldn't agree more!

  • By far she is one of the nicest preserved steam locomotives around.

  • No wonder she was the first to reach 100 mph. Awsome to see a race between her, and a CalTrain Baby Bullet at full speed.

  • wow!

  • One hundred odd years and she's still got it. Another example of British steam at her finest.

  • Breathtaking! They really have got it wound on. City of Truro really is a fantastic bit of machinery

  • Quicker than a bullet! 5 star and in my favorites!

  • I have never seen the City of Truro dispite the fact I live in Truro. I would like to though.

    Great footage!!

  • Wonderful video, only sorry it's a bit short! City of Truro is such an elegant engine to see at work.
