Nothing wrong with the video. actually , it makes a lotta sense cuz of all the phoney shit you gotta put up with when you get to church. I like when the minister guy tosses a coin in that ladys cleavage and she just bounces up and down like a fuckin weirdo. LOL
Not enough people know this song or would care to even give it a listen. The crazy breakdown is insane when the old guy rips out into a tye dye shirt and that crazy drum beat leading upto everyone just rockin this shit. SO FUCKIN COOL!
I think that's the point people are missing. Many people claim to be christian, and are not. Those who profit from greed in the name of God are far more despicable than those who claim to not be a believer. Why wouldn't a "true" christian get upset with a church that is corrupt? It just perpetuates hatred against believers and all the other stereotypes associated with it. Christ himself was angry when people were corrupting the temple by gambling. I am so tired of people's hatred and ignorance.
m pretty sure lovedrug doesnt know what they are. some songs they sing hallaleujah however spell it) and beg for for healing/forgivness. then they make a video like this which pretty much mocks the church, and them partaking in the corruption. and then theres thier newer song "Everyone Needs a Halo" which is safe to say that is not "christian". I love the sound and have supported them ever since i first learned about them. BUT if they all claim to be christians and contridict themself. they arnt
In my opinion, the song is about a corrupt church, or preacher of a church...Why do people care if Lovedrug are "Christians" or not...I think they are an amazing band either way, and it's a shame if people judge the band on this basis, rather than their obvious talent...Lovedrug rocks, Christian or not!
i didn't realize my last comment would be posted at the top of the list. i was referring to the fact that it's mostly true that many religions will Push the Shine of personal salvation, the requirement being you donate handsome sums of money to the church. (what a gag) it should be obvious to see, for the most part, the scandalism of Church. not to mention they don't even teach accurate truth from the Bible. so, perhaps this video is about that, i don't know. i like most their music.
You're an idiot. Her name is Beth Musni, she does a lot of modeling here and there and I went to college and had classes with her.
Fame and popularity? You're a retard, you're going to flame me without any idea of who I am or who I might know? The only reason I saw this anyway was because I was talking to her online and the html tag was in her profile at the time.
hahahahaha, I can't believe you actually took the time to reply to that. That was just some bullshit comment.
by the way, when I wrote "hahahahaha" earlier in my post (see first paragraph) I was sincerely laughing at how hard you tried with that overly aggressive comment.
From what I've been reading, Michael is no longer a Christian. He criticized Christian kids in an interview and said in a blog that if you're good you'll go to heaven and if you're bad you'll go to hell, which apparently was the "discovery" he made in the Himalayas.
this video is creepy but i love the band and this song. Unfortunately, i think the message of it could be confused in a very bad way if someone didn't know that lovedrug was christians in a band. i don't know if you'd go as far as calling them a christian band though. maybe....
They're on The Militia Group, which is a label for openly Christian artists (ie: Copeland). Lovedrug's never been a preachy band or anything, but "Down Towards The Healing" is definitely a song about straying from God, and asking for forgiveness. "Indie-pop" refers to the genre of music they play, which is completely different. I'm not a Christian myself, but this video still kind of bothers me, because it seems to be a mockery of the church.
I don't really understand this video at all. I thought Lovedrug was a Christian band... yet this video seems to say the contrary... unless there's some undertone that I'm missing.
oh man, that video was awesome. i love the last scene, their expressions were priceless. lovedrug is truly an amazing band and this video matched the same intensity of the song. rock on lovedrug.
Hate to say it but I can't stand this video. I suppose it's meant to be overly cheesey but you may have gotten away with it if it were more than a decade ago and you were soundgarden.
I loved doing this project! Graham was awesome, just the right combination of vision, drive and collaboration! The guys in Lovedrug were appreciative, respectful, and incredibly patient considering the fact that they had played a gig the night before and had a long bus ride ahead of them. The folks from Militagroup were great.
Thanks to everyone for making the 'Pushing the Shine' video shoot so enjoyable.
Thank you again for the featuring me in the PUSHING THE SHINE music video as the preacher's red-haired seductress! Louie Lawless as the object of my lust was flawless (and I hope those wine stains came out of his suit!).
I'm thrilled how brilliant the whole video is!Maybe there will be an expanded DVD version some day showing all the fun we had on the set in Chicago's Chinatown!

If you ever se lovedrug live or in a live video just look at the lead singer. His face looks so funny when he sings. Amazing band though.

it is possible to be a christian, and not agree with the church, and possibly mock the church.
say, if the church is corrupt, like the church portrayed in this video.

i would agree with you exept for one small detail...Jesus talked poorly of his religious leaders.
and i would consider it mockery to be called a hypocrite and other unkind names.
