  • I spoke on why I think that Shawn left the church because he did a rant on it.

  • Put down the joint....that was too funny!

  • its false

  • 1) Shawn lost faith, it became empty, 2) Shawn didn't apply the gospel to his life, 3) Shawn grew bitter and rather than change, chose to leave the church, 4) Shawn enjoyed the position of leaving the church and 5) Shawn misunderstood the bible and what it teaches

  • @stevejames1012 Shawn understands the Bible, and what it teaches. Shawn is applying the Bible to his life. He changed and chose to leave the LDS church, and joined Christ's church.

  • @bektex "(Shawn) joined Christ's church" And which church is that?

If he understood the bible, he would understand that any true would have to be lead by inspiration, not study alone.

  • @bektex Hey, what is Shawn's last name? And what's the name of his book?

  • @stevejames1012 funny how Mormon's jump to conclusions to why people leave the church

  • @tattoodfreeek So true! First thing I got said to me was, "So,....is there a commandment you can't keep?"

  • @fraughtonaround I keep getting "why were you excommunicated?", when I chose to leave because of the fact it's all BS.

  • TheSoulamore thinks she is neutral in fact she is isn´t by FAR!

  • can some1 update me bout @utahmormon90 calling the show for a debate with Shawn?¿?¿ Or was he all mouth and backed-off.

  • 4 Mormons didn't understand and hit the dislike button ;D

  • Sorry to say, but."Mormonism" is true!!! You cant judge if you were never part of it

  • @101Beiber He was a part of it, hes saying it isn't :D

  • @101Beiber I don`t have to become part of jahovas witnesses to judge that they ,like the mormons are decieved.

  • @bowtechspeedfreak You can judge and not assert.

  • @dorisfenella we are commanded to judge and watch for false prophets like joe smith,a proven false prophet.

  • Comment removed

  • @dorisfenella You mormons claim that God was once a man, that there are many gods, that one day you will be like God...NOW...having said that,,what did satan say when he rebelled??? "I will be like God"

  • @bowtechspeedfreak I explained you part of my testimony of J.S. Nobody are able to know with all certainty if God was once a man. It´s just faith. The Bible says that. Just 1 quotation

    Philippians 3

20 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ,

21 who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.

  • @dorisfenella To put Philippians 3 in context, start with verse 9- be found IN him,not having a rightiousness of my own which comes from obeying the law,but that which is through faith in Christ. When God looks at me he doesn`t see my sin,he sees Jesus ONLY if I have been born again and admit that NOTHING I could ever do would buy salvation.

  • @101Beiber He was a part of it for many years. :)

  • @101Beiber Mormonism is false....dont be afraid to study the facts....you must be curious and cant admit it or you wouldnt be watching his videos...

  • Haaa. Very good video.

  • @TheSoulamore Why do all Christian PhD Scientists in the world (in the biology-field), believe in the Theory of Evolution??

Can you name me just two that don't?

  • @TheSkepticChristian I think theories are a waste of time. I do have one theory though. I think that if satan wanted to get all the souls he could after Jesus died for the sins of the world and saved us, then he would make a counterfeit Gospel of the true Gospel of Christ and have all those people worshiping him instead.

  • @TheSoulamore aaronsha Blocked me LOL

I am block in almost every anti-mormon channel.

Hopefully testskriftene does not block me also.

"I think theories are a waste of time"

Well there are Christian Theologians that do believe in the Theory of Evolution.

You don't believe in the Theory of Evolution??

  • @TheSoulamore aaronsha Blocked me LOL

I am block in almost every anti-mormon channel.

Hopefully testskriftene does not block me also.

"I think theories are a waste of time"

Well there are Christian Theologians that do believe in the Theory of Evolution.

You don't believe in the Theory of Evolution??

  • @TheSoulamore Like I just told you, aaronsha Blocked me LOL

I am block in almost every anti-mormon channel.

Hopefully testskriftene does not block me also.

"I think theories are a waste of time"

Well there are Christian Theologians that do believe in the Theory of Evolution.

You don't believe in the Theory of Evolution??

  • @TheSkepticChristian Genesis 1 is open to all kinds of interpetation, a christian can believe in evolution and still be saved

  • @thegarett3 Well, what about this? according to talkorigins:

"The Bible contains anachronisms. Details attributed to one era actually apply to a much later era. For example, camels, mentioned in Genesis 24:10, were not widely used until after 1000 B.C.E. (Finkelstein and Silberman 2001).

There is no evidence that the kingdoms of David and Solomon were nearly as powerful as the Bible indicates; they may not have existed at all (Finkelstein and Silberman 2001; Lazare 2002)."

  • @TheSkepticChristian the scholars with the camels are making the fallacy of making a argument out of silence, and it doesnt prove anything false about the bible as historical. The burden of proof actually should be upon skeptics to show that camels were not domesticated until after the time of the patriarchs. Instead, they assure their listeners of the camel’s absence in Abraham’s day—without one shred of archaeological evidence.

  • @thegarett3 didn't answer the second part

"The Exodus, which should have been a major event, does not appear in Egyptian records. There are no traces in the Sinai that one would expect from forty years of wandering of more than half a million people. And other archaeological evidence contradicts it, showing instead that the Hebrews were a native people "

"no evidence that the kingdoms of David and Solomon were nearly as powerful as the Bible indicates; they may not have existed at all"

  • @TheSkepticChristian "the expulsion of the Hyksos from Egypt around 1570-50 BC The most important discovery is the Merneptah stele that mentions Israel which forced the revision of a number of liberal theories. Before the discovery of this stele scholars placed the date of the exodus and entry into Canaan much later. They were now forced to admit that Israel was already in Canaan at the time of Merneptah. This puts a terminus ante quem date of 1210 BC for the exodus."

  • @TheSkepticChristian There is evidence for David and Solomons existence, such as the Tel Dan Stele, but like you said, there is a debate on if it was really as big as the Bible says

  • @thegarett3 True, National Geographic talked about the "House of David" evidence that has been found. However, "House of David" is not going to prove that he had a glorious empire.

According to National Geographic episode, archaeology does not support the Exodus, and "Was the Kingdom of David and Solomon a glorious empire—or just a little cow town? It depends on which archaeologist you ask"

However, mainstream leading archaeologists like Israel Finkelstein, William Dever, agree.

  • @TheSkepticChristian If it is up to every different archaeologist, than what makes Finkelstein or Dever opinion any more credible on this issue than any other? Because they are mainstream and leading? Seems like a fallacy to me

  • @thegarett3

First off all, the opinion of mainstream archaeologists is very important.

Second, the opinion of leading archaeologists is very important.

Their statements are based on what they observe and studies.

Third, very few archaeologists still think that the Bible is historical.

Fourth, some Jewish Rabbis don't take the Bible to be a literal history. one legit Astrophysicist believes that Earth is thousands of years old, his name is Jason Lisle, Ph.D

  • @TheSkepticChristian First off, why not are all other the archealogists opinon just as important? That was my point. Second, "very few"? This might be knitpicking but I think you need to back that up, and thats great for jewish rabbis, but I don't understand how this makes my case weaker or yours stronger

  • @thegarett3 World's leading biblical archaeologist stated: "truth of the matter today is that archeology raises more questions about the historicity of the Hebrew Bible and even the New Testament than it provides answers"

Going against mainstream view, is something very serious. In modern times, the very few usually fail anyways.

I send you a link with sources in a private message

I already told, for example Astrophysicist Jason Lisle, Ph.D, believes that earth is thousands of years old

  • @TheSkepticChristian I don't think you can say Dever is "the worlds leading" because I think it would be very hard to actually prove that. Secondly, just because the very few will doesn't mean they always will. I would say that is a fallacy. And like I already said, I don't understand how Jason Lisle makes my case weaker or your case stronger

  • @thegarett3 well certainly, Dever is quoted by many other archaeologist.

"Jason Lisle makes my case weaker or your case stronger"

For an Astrophysicist, its an embarrassment for him to believe that earth is thousands of years old. (no offense intended for him). Believing that, its like believing that the Earth is flat. It amazing that he believes that.

Please, check the private message I send you.

Please google Dever, world's leading biblical archaeologist

  • Very Very Very GOOD

  • @MR1EAR When you understand why you dismiss my religion, and other possible religions, you will understand why I dismiss yours.

  • @TheSkepticChristian I hope you dismiss ALL RELIGIONS!(That is ALL,everyone...do not hold to any DISmiss all of them)

  • Once you start to believe one lie you need every other lie to support it. becomes a house of cards replacing falling cards as it goes. but now comes just one breath, one truth and it all falls down. such as the DNA study, which tells us exactly where the Native American had originated and conclusively shows how they got here via the Bering strait. is much more believable than 3 people groups crossing two vast oceans all carrying metal books? its merely a redundant fantasy story thats all. sheesh

  • This is just as the pharisees and sadducees did back in Christ's time. Christ said that there would be many false people that would lead others astray, but Jesus said that you would know them by there fruits. So i cannot wait for Jesus to come again and set the record straight again to all the un-beleivers in our day. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons) is Christ's true church on the earth today. I have been on UTLM and watched all of shawns videos and they are all lies.

  • @ComeUntoChrist "Come on! ye prosecutors! ye false swearers! All hell, boil over! Ye burning mountains, roll down your lava! for I will come out on top at last. I have more to boast of than ever any man had. I am the only man that has ever been able to keep a whole church together since the days of Adam. A large majority of the whole have stood by me. Neither Paul, John, Peter, nor Jesus ever did it. I boast that no man ever did such a work as I.

  • "The followers of Jesus ran away from Him; but the Latter-day Saints never ran away from me yet...When they can get rid of me, the devil will also go." (History of the Church, Vol. 6, p. 408, 409) Yep, here is your arrogent, narcissistic fool of of a so-called prophet, telling us one great big lie. This is as bad as it gets. No I take that back. What's worse is the idea that you will become like like your heavenly father, have never ending celestial sex with your many wives...

  • in order to populate this planet or yours. So cheer up. This is what you've got to look forward to (sarcasm intended here). But be careful not to get your wives mixed up with those virgins of Mohammed. "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons) is Christ's true church on the earth today." As a side note, a JW, Roman Catholic, Moonie, and other groups state this exact same thing. You don't have the corner market on Christianity, even though you would like to think you do.

  • @ComeUntoChrist *So i cannot wait for Jesus to come again and set the record straight again to all the un-beleivers in our day.* Really? Never had an unclean thought? How about the masturbation that all teen boys practice but never admit to? You have a truckload of sins like the rest of us, buddy. A temple recommend isn't worth a damn. Your works are filthy rags.

  • @ComeUntoChrist What I am saying is, your churches 'doctrine teaches that Christ can not save you when you are _in_ your sins. And you are just that: right _now_ you are _in_ your sins. Thank God! Thank God Mormonism isnt true or their would be no hope for you or me.

  • @eeikman beautifully said! Amen.

  • @kristena710 When you understand why you dismiss my religion, and other possible religions, you will understand why I dismiss yours

  • @eeikman Christ does not save us in our sins but from our sins. And yes we are all sinners and no mormon I've met believes otherwise.

IA with Ray, Shawn is not easy to talk to and in this convo down right rude. NOT CHRISTIAN behavior. Shawn stop bashing the mormons and looking at the mote the mormon's have and pay more attention to your own beams.

  • @peaceliberty4all *and looking at the mote the mormon's have* The mote the Utah and Idaho Mormons have is called "Pride". That's not a mote, it's a fetching Beam.

  • You can tell how "mashed in the head" cult members are by listening to the weird and complicated way the caller speaks.

  • This could have been a 3 minute call and Ray's stuttering and stammering made it a 9 minute call...Unbelievable.

  • Shawn gave a good message at CCSLC FAT Farm last Wed. Praise God, just remember dont be thoughing away votes on the lesser of two evils

  • @UtahMormon90 I hope you do go on Shawns show, I jus hope you cn speak better then Ray lol. Oh by the way i hope you bring you A game, your going to need it.

  • Ray...wake up!!

  • It's impossible to get a Mormon to answer a question with a direct answer.

My experience with Mormons has been very mixed but three things hold true no matter what other factors might vary :

#1- Mormons won't answer questions in a direct way.

#2- They always blame someone else.

#3- They always fall back on the "anti-Mormon" defense.

I am near the point where I can let them join Joseph in hell and not feel that I failed to do enough to help them see the truth.

If Mormons want Joseph so be it.

  • if you go to a basic dictionary you will see that Paganism (from Latin paganus, meaning "country dweller, rustic") is a term which, from a Western perspective, has come to connote a broad set of spiritual or cultic practices or beliefs of any folk religion, and of historical and contemporary polytheistic religions in particular. one who believes in polytheism or the belief in more than one god is not chrisian. historical christianity is monotheistic!

  • I would love to go on Heart of the Matter myself and put this fraud in his place.

  • @UtahMormon90 "I would love to go on Heart of the Matter myself and put this fraud in his place." Instead of posting your comment, why don't you call up Shawn and just do it. Earlier this year, Shawn stated he would love to have any Mormon on his show, either in person or via skype, or any other means to call and debate him on Mormon issues. There's a fellow that goes by the name of mormonanswerman who stated he would do it, but backed out. Perhaps you can rise to the occasion? Just do it.

  • @TheJpgr1958 It's so easy to hate and criticize, isn't it? People like you who constantly do so are simply afraid of the truth. I urge you to at least give The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints a try once. Be open minded and try it. I guarantee you will find the truth. Your hate and constant ridicule won't get you anywhere. Joseph Smith went through so much in his life, and in return you bash him. If only you put your energy into being good and not hateful.

  • @UtahMormon90 "I would love to go on Heart of the Matter myself and put this fraud in his place." This was the comment which you stated to which I was responding to. You also stated the following: "I know Mormon Church history like I know the alphabet. I would be more than happy to have a civil discussion with Shawn on the show." Are you then making arrangements to be on "Heart of The Matter" and have this "civil" discussion with Shawn, the host of the show?

  • Shawn did state earlier this year that he would love to have any member of the LDS church as a guest on his show, either live on the set, or via phone, to discuss different topics. The fellow who goes with the name mormonanswerman, which Shawn spoke of on one his shows, stated pretty much what you state, but then didn't go through with it for, if I can recall, a very poor reason. I do hope you don't go down that same road after the assertions you have made. So just do it!!

  • @UtahMormon90 "I'll gladly send you $200 to cover the cost of gas and a day off of work if you would go and see Shawn. I'm serious." This comment was made by one eeikman. If you are really serious on going on the show with Shawn, I would take Mr. eeikman's offer and go with it!! Even if you don't, and I wouldn't know why you wouldn't, I do hope you go on and defend your position. But as you stated, it must be "civil."

  • @TheJpgr1958

Id be willing to chip in on that deal--as long as UM90 paid his own way there, gave his performance (proving that he was there), and THEN I would chip in. Only AFTER the fact, tho. If we sent him $200 in advance...well...let's just say that he might choose to take a long weekend with his wife and we get nothing.

No performer get's paid in advance. When they perform THEN they get paid (or re-imbursed, in this case).

I'd be worth $20 to hear it, for me.

  • @42apostate Good plan. UM90 did state to me that he would have his trip covered, so only time will tell if he does go through with it. He also stated the following to me" "And yes, I will find out what his email is and contact Shawn about possibly getting on his show so we can have a civil discussion..." That was 2 days ago. I don't believe it takes one 2 days to find Shawn's e-mail, especially when Shawn has a show, but again, this may be the beginning of a cop out. Hope I'm wrong.

  • @TheJpgr1958

I hope you are wrong, also.

I have challenged many LDS Psuedo Apologists here on YT to set up a PUBLIC Debate at BYU and broadcast it on the BYU station as well as the internet. FAIR'S best "scholars" vs the best of Former-LDS scholars, complete with a moderator (unbiased 3rd party approved by both sides) to keep the subject (also agreed to by both) on track. I believe one of them was mormanswerman (before he banned me from his channel).

I haven't found any takers yet...

  • @42apostate Have you ever offered the same challenge to a guy who goes by the name of majinish? He stated the following to me: " I have great knowledge of the scriptures. I'm not just saying that, it's a simple fact." I also have called him a pseudo-debater. If you haven't given him that chance, please do. I would love to see what his response would be.

  • @TheJpgr1958

Oh YES!--Mr. majinish! We crossed paths back in mid November 2010.

I have record of our conversations (channel pm's) re: BoM historical "proofs" It quickly devolved into a mud-sling contest. I referenced the words of an "Apostle" at the Oct. 2010 Gen Conf. who stated that the BoM was "not a history book" and the implications of that. Bottom line, he did the typical LDS dance (dodging, deflecting, spinning and ducking). He was unimpressive as the "scholar" he claimed to be.

  • @TheJpgr1958

The challenge not in the chan.pm's I kept, but, I'd bet that I did so at the video chat where we first tangled. I offered the challenge to any LDS person that attempted to engage me in conversation for more than 2 or 3 "re-directs". It IS a conversation killer. None have ever taken the offer--tho I admit that it would take someone with some measure of clout within the LDS power structure to pull it off. Shawn ought to make that offer every time he has a Mormon on his show.

  • @UtahMormon90 *Joseph Smith went through so much in his life* The women in Joseph Smith's life went through a great deal more than he did. When I say the phrase "Wayfaring Man of Grief", who do you think of? You think of Josph Smith of course. The Wayfaring Man of Grief was Jesus, UM90. You have been raised in a man-centered religion.

  • @eeikman @TheJpgr1958 I appreciate the gasoline offer, but I got it covered. And yes, I will find out what his email is and contact Shawn about possibly getting on his show so we can have a civil discussion about doctrine that people take out of context such as polygamy which you pointed out and our view of Jesus Christ.

  • @UtahMormon90 lol so what is D&C 132 vs 61 when taken "in context" haha

id love to hear your answer

  • @UtahMormon90 "And yes, I will find out what his email is and contact Shawn about possibly getting on his show so we can have a civil discussion about doctrine that people take out of context such as polygamy which you pointed out and our view of Jesus Christ." Good. We are going to wait and see if this will really happen, for as you know, people can state anything on youtube but never follow through. I do hope you are as serious as you come across here.

  • @UtahMormon90 I gave the church a try for over 40 years. If you've ever had any doubts about the church, you should take them seriously. Jesus is not a spirit brother to anyone. God is not a man. Hsa 11:9 ((for I [am] God, and not man;)) Jesus is the Word of God, the Creator. Isa 40:8 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever. The Word of God "Is" translated correctly. Truth destroys Josephs gospel.

  • @TheJpgr1958 mormonanswerman is a terrible apologist.

hes not defending Christianity with his energy but rather mormonism.

  • @lilbeaveymac "mormonanswerman is a terrible apologist." He is, besides being a nice guy, is one of those individuals who defends his position from behind the comfort and safety of his keyboard, but would never ever engage in a REAL debate. Shawn did mention him by name on one of his shows, asking him to either come into the studio or call in to discuss different topics. You would think mormonanswerman would jump at an opportunity like that, but of course he came up with very poor excuses...

  • demonstrating that mormonanswerman, again being a nice fellow, a good father etc. really can't handle the pressure of a real scholastic debate, where a topic is agreed upon, and that both parties MUST stick to that topic, not bring up a potpourri of things, or go down rabbit trails which are so prevalent on the internet. He, along with other Mormons, believe they are good in defending Mormonism, but in reality they are not. I do hope UM90 does not follow suit. Only time will tell.

  • @UtahMormon90 Do it then. Mormonism is heading you to a lost eternity friend. I'd encourage you to call in.

  • @Cookey77 Not only will I call in, I will physically go on the show and expose Shawn for the unfaithful worm he is. Nobody can stand against The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Shawn stoops to telling lies to deceive the viewing public from the truth. It's a disgrace Shawn hosts a show that goes against the only true church on the face of the earth and tries to "preach" Jesus at the same time. It's an outrage.

  • @UtahMormon90 "Not only will I call in, I will physically go on the show and expose Shawn for the unfaithful worm he is." I do hope you will carry through with this. But I would lose the name calling: worm, fat, etc. You can disagree with Shawn, but once you start in with the name calling, you look immature, foolish, and no one will take you seriously. So if you can't control this aspect, then stay commenting on youtube where you will be safer. Again, just do it.

  • @UtahMormon90 how about you go and investigate all those lies to show him he's wrong (after all, just thinking he's wrong doesn't actually prove anything). Get all your facts lined up. Be very thorough and organized. Don't be a stuttering fool like Ray, be direct and concise. Look into all the Mormon history. If you can, when you walk in, show Shawn some of the money that the Nephites or Lamanites supposedly had. Go and dig up some remains from Cumorah (with armor). That would work.

  • @redlandz1977 I know Mormon Church history like I know the alphabet. I would be more than happy to have a civil discussion with Shawn on the show.

  • @UtahMormon90 *I will physically go on the show and expose Shawn* I would caution you if you plan on using physical violence. This would be very serious. Your church won't help you if you commit criminal acts, you will face the consequences all alone. If you can't control yourself, stay home.

  • @UtahMormon90

Action speaks volumes more than words. Words are CHEAP, brother UM90!

Keep us updated on your progress...

  • @42apostate And to everyone, I emailed Shawn two days ago about being on an episode of Heart of the Matter to discuss Mormon Doctrine and misconceptions about the church. I will keep you updated about the progress and I'm sure Shawn will email me back soon and allow me on the show.

  • @UtahMormon90 I do hope this will work out. If it does, I believe you would be the 1st Mormon with, may I state this, the guts to appear on Shawn's show.

  • Shawn thinks Jesus is enough. He expects to sit and do nothing and Jesus will just take him on up to Heaven. Shawn has a funny way of showing his "faith". Faith without works is dead.

  • @UtahMormon90 "Faith without works is dead." Perhaps if you call "Heart of The Matter," this would be a good topic to discuss with Shawn. Remember, just do it

  • UtahMormon90 "Shawn thinks Jesus is enough." So did the thief on the cross apparently, correct?

  • @TheJpgr1958 I have a Mormon co-worker who was worried about judgement if he died durring a surgery the following week. I mentioned Christ's promise to the thief on the cross and he actually ran away from me. Very odd.

  • @eeikman WOW. That really shows how far theologically Mormons are from true biblical Christianity. And as you know, your Mormon friend probably ran away as a defense mechanism because he/she didn't know how to deal with that verse. Mormons, or any other person in a false cult, will either run away, call you names, or play the anti- (fill in the blank) card as the way to get out of a serious discussion about texts of scripture. By the way, keep up the good work.

  • @eeikman people always run away from the truth.

  • @UtahMormon90

    Hmmm...

Let's do a comparison. Shawn's "sit and do nothing" compared to YOUR "sit and do nothing".

He's got a call-in show. Do you? He's the Pastor of a congregation and all the work that entails. Do you do comparable? Prepare a lesson for EQ?? (That only takes an hour in prep and an hour to deliver.)

Home Teaching? There's MAYBE 3 hours a month. Temple assignment? 2 hours a month.

A couple other "callings"? 4 hours a month.

I bet Shawn does that much in 2 days!!

  • I'm sorry but Ray is an idiot.

  • Frustrating talking to a delight-some dork butt~!

  • AMEN GOD BLESS THIS SHOW
