Rumor is that a patient at a local asylum found one of staffs cameras with the 35mm lens on and made this video. The camera was found and the patient sedated before being returned to the ward. The footage somehow found it's way on YouTube. Heard this third hand so not sure how valid it is?
I returned the Nikon 50mm 1.4G and got this one instead... Not only cheaper, but can take wider pictures... So I gave up on some "f" value and technically get less bokeh..but who can tell yeah? :P
what would be best for a nikon d5000 35mm af-s or the 50mm 1.8d, i know that it dosent have in body auto focus, but i still want one of these, so how would they look does anyone have examples, of any of these two lenses?
@ithree6mafia ive been reading and viewing reviews/video/prices, everyone say for ur everyday/ all about lens, get the 35mm f1.8. the 50mm 1.8 was good, but u have no a/f with it. theres the 50mm 1.4 but thats like 2xs as much as the 35mm 1.8. another thing was ppl kept saying they actually had to step back a bit to take pictures with the 50mm. the 35mm 1.8 was perfect. im getting it friday or this sat
I have both lenses and a D90, and I prefer the 50 mm for portraits. It's also smaller, and (if that means anything to you) a much nicer looking lens. And the fact that it has a focus ring makes it more useful if you're shooting video. But they're both great, especially if you only own a kit lens.
I'm a huge Nikon fan and this lens is another reason why Nikon is regarded as the best at what they do. I own this lens myself and it's been great for my everyday use. If you shoot in DX such as a D80, D90, D200, or D300(s), this lens will make a great match for any of them. I also own the 50mm f/1.4D and 85mm f/1.8D and I actually like the focal length and colors this lens produces a lot more. This lens actually seems a lot more a 55mm lens with the DX crop factor. Overall, great lens!
What is the message of you're video? For me is that you are a looser.

50mm f1.8D isn't good compared to that one? You've got to be kidding me...there is some much more disortion in this lens than 50mm f1.8D

which one is better? 35mm 1.8 or 50mm 1.8? i'm debating on which prime lens to get for my d90.
which one has an advantage as far as taking portraits.

on your D90 i suggest you buy the 35mm. On portraits the results are the same but with the 50mm you have to be a little bit far from the subject

should I buy this one ore the Tamron 17-50mm F2.8 ?
tjj2productions 2 years ago
I also own this lens, this one delivers superior photos than the Tamron
JiggerBooWigger 2 years ago
you r talking about two different kind of lenses, one is more to portrait and the other one (35) is more for a all around lens...
labop21 2 years ago
This one, Tamron is not even near.

nice vid! i'm guess u prefer the 35mm over the 50mm? I have the 50mm and its a pain having to take several steps back when taking pics of people.

Should I go for this one or the 55-200mm VR? The one I have is the 18-55 kit lens.

its a d40 because the shooting selector isn't flat like the d60s but round
