Daniel Day Lewis did an amazing job on There Will Be Blood. He really showed how evil the early day oil industry was back then. He represents evil in its purest form in that movie. Magnificent.
Same here regular DVD's are good enough for me I'm not switching to Blu-ray until the movies become a lot cheaper and you can find a lot of them used.
Oh well its dead anyway and a few years from now most people will not even know what HD-DVD was just like LaserDisc, BetaMax, MiniDisc, and all the other formats that failed.
Im stuck in the south...South Carolina. Spartanburg to be exact...thats why when I post certain things, like the racism can be fun comment put I got a bunch of flack because im only 1 of about 4 non racist people here!!
VHS may have won but was inferior to Betamax. Only VHS's longer recording ability enabled it to surpass Beta. It was the casette over the 8-track and reel-to-reel, because of compact size, not quality of sound. Compact discs over took vinyl recordings, but again because of size, not superior sound quality. All I'm saying is winners are not always the best choice.
yay blu-ray

Microsoft didn't have anything to do with HD-DVD they only supported it. HD-DVD was developed and made by Toshiba.

Yeah... It's particularly strange because I'm sure quite a bit goes into the creation of these things.
