I made a video for Michigans State Gem Chlorastrolite on youtube but when i look up Michigan State Gem Chlorastrolite nothing comes up hopping some one can help
Michigan, My Michigan is not really the state song. It's the "unofficial" song, but according to the Concurrent Resolution 17 passed in 1937... "My Michigan" by Kavanagh/Clint is the official song... though they never sold it to the state, so the state has to pay royalties if it is played. The copyright actually expires in a few years.
First off, several states use this tune as their "State Song," so if you bash Michigan, you need to bash others - like Maryland, for example.
Secondly, this is NOT the official state song. The only song mentioned by law as "a state song" (note that is doesn't say "the state song") is "My Michigan" - which has a completely different tune and lyrics.
The song playing is not the Michigan State song in any official sense.
The only official state song is "My Michigan," as composed and written by Giles Kavanagh and H. O'Reilly Clint and adopted by concurrent resolution in 1836.
well, there is an unofficial state song called, "Michigan, My Michigan." I don't know what it sounds like, but maybe it is just "Oh Tannenbaum" reworded.
Actually, there was a song composed during the Civil War called "Michigan, My Michigan," which did have the melody of "O Tannenbaum." But in the 1930's, it was re-arranged and set to a new melody by H. O'Reilly Clint and designated as "an official state song" by the legislature in 1937 under the name "My Michigan." I remember singing this song in elementary school and it was NOT "O Tannenbaum."
Makes no sense without lyrics.

I would seem strange that Michigan and Maryland would have a state song with the smae melody. This certainly is Maryland, My Maryland

And what song do you think is playing in the background? Yes, indeed, it's "My Michigan," which has the same melody as "Oh Tannenbaum."
