  • Very good !

  • Haunting!

  • I've recently been corrected by Elizabeth's mother Sandy. She (mother) is the only transplanted Yankee in the family. Oh, what a voice!

  • Kirk I hold my hat in my hand when you play!!!!!!! You humble me.

  • She is the most hypnotic singer I have ever heard. Love her singing "Black is the Color" and "Rain and Snow"

  • WOW!! That's all I can say.

  • My grandfather used to hum this sing when we were out hunting or working in the fields. I never knew what it was called. Now I can only wonder where he heard it in SE Tenn.

  • Elizabeth Laprelle has one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard (or ever will hear, i think).

  • An incredible performer! I've been following Elizabeth LaPrelle for the past five years when she was in high school. I've just gotten "Lizard in the Spring," which includes this song. Though her parents are transplanted Northerners now living in SW Virginia, there's no one around that I can think of who sings traditional Appalachian ballads better than Elizabeth. She's truly gifted and amazing. I'm excited to see where her career goes from here now that she's graduated from William & Mary.

  • i think i'm in love

  • Wonderful wonderful interpretation of this classic! 5 stars from me!! Both the banjo and the singing are just riveting! I was frozen in place to the end your piece.

  • It is riveting, isn't it? I had to go hunt down the album... after playing this video about a dozen times first, of course.

  • @Mandolin1944 I agree with u there, I was like WHOA!

  • Even though I`m a banjo player who admires Kirk`s playing, your singing inspires me Elizabeth.

  • Beautiful Elizabeth!
