  • This is brilliant. :) Written about my crappy hometown, Hastings, I think. Brilliant.

  • this isnt punk..

  • @Petegrin1 punk's whatever you want it to be mate

  • I love this. It makes me think of Blackpool.

Proud to be British whenever i listen to this band.

  • im gettin old n i knew itch and ja when they were yunguns @ the camden shows.they'reREAL!they believe in wot they say and do!and YES,they are earning a few quid from it,but by fuck they put in the work!dont knock em for making a livin!(and that is all they make!)should they work in a shoe shop instead maybe?its 2012..unfortunately we all need money,or live like an animal!its what ya do with the £ that counts, and how you treat the people who have enabled you to have it!king blues are good people!

  • I love every King Blues song except this one and "Dancehall".

  • 23 people don't have lives.

  • Regardless of how popular the king blues become, they won't forget where they're from or what they stand for. Class band in my opinion

  • Don't think I've ever enjoyed a song as much as I just did :)

  • I will always love this band, no matter how popular they become because, at the gigs i've been to (always sold out), they have proved that they are definitely how they have always been and will never put fame before the message they want to put out there. So all you unesecary haters sit down and shut up.

  • where is indonesia??hahaha

  • Why is there so many morons on the internet? So many YouTube comments I see make me want to stab people I've never met. Makes me fucking angry how they can say a band used to be good then they get heard of and gain fame and suddenly they're "mainstream" Yeah, nice one cunt.

  • @TechWrecker

The King Blues are definetely not mainstream, i don't know any other band that sounds like them, so how the hell can this be fuckin mainstream???

  • @TheBenji979 That was my point....

  • Punk is anything you want it to be.. Sell-out question answered.

  • fuck me, what happened to the king blues? enjoy your advances, you are lily allen

  • JONNY! MARRY ME! k, thanks.

  • is jazz still the guitarist ??

  • @BrocoliBeatsTurtle yes he very much is :) and always will be :D

  • this band is a true punk band. singing about what really fucking matters with heart and soul

  • @khaeotixs

    try gallows for true punk.

    but these guys are sick...

  • @khaeotixs

mate are you joking? this shit makes my heart sink

  • @666dreadhog666 Norwich ;) x

  • We're going away, on hooooooooliday :D

  • seeing these guys in november. SO EXCITED!!

  • @NiamhyBluexx SAAAAME. birmingham

  • I don't care whether anyone call these guys sell outs, this band sings about what is true and what is meaningful. They speak their minds, they are emotive and Johnny Fox's lyrics are amazing. The King Blues are a hidden gem and they make you care about what their singing about. For all the fighting and arguing that is going on here, do you not think we like this band for the same reason...

  • lets be honest, this is their weakest song

  • I Got this video and the Set the World on Fire video for free, aswell as a poster singed by the whole band... it's cos they love me :D

  • fuck, this band is underrated.

  • @theedgeofgl0ria

they used to be. just like dizzee rascal used to be

they're shit now. major label mainstream cocksuckers

  • @fucksakefucksakefuck So... because a band gets recognition and goes from being hardly heard of to what you call "mainstream" they're immediately shit. Good fucking job being a fan, stupid cunt.

  • @TechWrecker - The old catch-22 of being into independent music. When your favourite band's obscure, the problem is everyone else is listening to something else (which you think is shit); when everyone else starts listening to your favourite band, then the band's 'sold out'. Because your fanboy is actually more interested in being self-righteous than in enjoying music.

  • @Spoonface370 I know, a band gets recognition and suddenly they're sell-outs

  • this is a good song.. i like it.!

  • WHY WASNT THIS ON PUNK AND POETRY:'(

  • Did this not make it to the album? :(

  • Ow man this bloke is fucking annoying!

  • "I'll play this song once more, then I'll go and get a drink."

I said that about an hour ago, I'm still here listening to this song.

  • talking about selling out in 2011....is ridicolus----there should more band like King Blues, sonic Boom six etc......cheers from Bologna---Rude

  • Trying to look hard in the music video for a song that sounds like any old radio pop-indie tripe (basic chord progressions supplemented by piano and some strings, don't pretend it's anything else).

  • @alexbtw do us all a favour piss off

  • @sillybearFTWcheese clearly spoilt scouting for girls for you, uhhh i meant king blues. well i meant scouting for girls with the guitar turned up and an accent.

  • @alexbtw Clearly you've never heard any of their old stuff.

  • @TheCaptainShepard not judging them by that, judging them by this.

  • @alexbtw Listen to we are fucking angry. Mr musinc Man. and whatever else. This band want to change the world. So why the fuck hate on them and if you hate them then why click on the video? Damn son.

  • @EnterKrooked just did, changing the world by glorifying violent rioting to the beat of tired, boring ska-punk. I checked out the video because a number of people on my facebook kept talking about them so I checked them out, didn't much care for it - so I said so. So ironic, listening to rebellious ska-pop-punk that tells you to fight back and have opinions, then tell me not to view mine 'cause it contradicts yours. & as if you've never voiced a negative opinion before in your life...

  • @alexbtw No you're completly right about veiwing your opinions I never said don't air your views i just asked why you click on the vid, and you answered but i dont see why you'd hate on them? And honestly I think its good the express bad views otherwise you end up an insane old cunt who grumbles about every little going on in the world

  • FUCK GRIME!!! This song is sick!!!!

  • A mint song no matter what people say

  • "I'll still be skankin' in ma pork pie hat."

    Really itch? Really?

  • @Sedgesaurusrex Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooring. Arctic monkeys are boring too.

  • Wonderful!

  • "I hate every dick-head who calls me a sell-out when I can't even afford new shoes." (I got hate lyrics) the Wise words of Jonny Fox!

  • They've gone from punk squatters to .. amazing musicians .. they haven't changed .. just become more talented. they still portray the same message .. the only difference is, the message is sent to more people ..

  • Holy fuck this band is sick

  • I cant believe people are talking on here about the King Blues selling out! Punk & Poetry is a special, special album.

Its fucking ridiculous how good this band are and how much they have evolved since Under The Fog.

@drumbum69 said it; "Fucking open your minds people".

  • hahaha union jack swimming shorts!! thats so typical of brits abroad!

  • Just spent a week essentially squatting down in Brighton, sneaking red wine into the hobgoblin for the all day ska session, it was howling it down this weekend too, but I love it, this song sums it up so well.

  • Sold out my arse, sure they've changed a bit but that's a good thing if they just did the same stuff on every album it'd be crap. Bands need to change and evolve and if you actually listen to them you'll realise the spirits still there.

  • This band should be miles bigger than they are!

  • Anybody else always think they have a new facebook chat message at 0:14?

  • -3 this band can't wait to see them again in November \m/

  • This band is probably the reason I'm alive... O.O awesome song

  • sold out?

    they've obviously not.

Have you listened to punk & poetry?

It's still classic king blues, standing up for those who's voices cannot be heard, or won't be listened to.

  • You boys should be more noticed your good!

  • like the king blues:') not all innocent do-gooders like alot of bands or campaighners that peoplen just switch off to when they try and spread their messages! but the kings are alot grittier:D

  • lyrical genius

  • :'S song makes me cry. I don't know why. well there doesn't have to be a reason. gaaaaaaahhhhhh!

  • Quality tune! - why didn't they put this on 'punk & poetry'?

  • I'm gutted this song isn't on Punk & Poetry

  • I just read punk & doherty :D

  • This video would be so much better if he wasn't pulling that face that makes him look like a complete an utter tool

  • Why don't i have this?

  • punk & poetry!

  • Instead of posting generic comments or arguing, people should tell their best jokes...

  • @acooper29 king blues

  • Weak ... i found this song through a link someone posted about punk bands. this is not fucking punk, it's weak shite pop. They sound like Arctic monkey.

  • @Cagey75 you haven't heard all their songs, obviously. and it isn't "shite pop"

  • @katewills3 it is to me. And after this, i don't really want to

  • @Cagey75 If you think this is pop you need to screw your head on straight and listen to some real music

  • @Cagey75 It seems to me you're too caught up in the genre of the music not the PunkRock mentality. Check out songs "We are fucking angry" "what if punk rock never happened" and maybe "the streets are ours" if you want some serious anarchy shit.

Again I stress - do NOT go on the generic musical genre. Punk is not a music genre - it's amentality, it is a lifestyle! These guys have lived and still live the REAL punk lifestyle and they are politically active in everything they do. That is REAL punk

  • it should have been on the album to be honest, it's still a good tune and fits in with the theme. still an amazing album though.

  • This is a fucking sick song! But I can understand why it's not on the album, it wouldn;t really fit in I dont think, awesome anyway! :D

  • 16 people didnt wish upon the stones

  • i am getting so sick of people calling these guys sellouts. Apart from the backing band sounding slightly different due to line up changes they are the same. Same subjects matter in the songs, same passion, same king blues. Loyal fan till the end :)

  • @XxJodiexx75 I COULDN'T AGREE MORE! well said :)

  • @XxJodiexx75

The other members aren't a backing band, they're not "Itch and The King Blues".

  • 16 people take it up the bum.

  • 16 people have never been on holiday!

  • What ever you do ....NEVER STOP MAKING YOUR MUSIC!!

  • no sory my email playin up and i cant send anythind :( sorry:(

  • @motor538 Chatting shit you ain't got the album, do you know how I know? I am mates with the band!

  • @kphcftw what r u on i hav got it

  • @motor538 There is no way on this earth do you have punk and poetry quit talking out your arse I am pals with the band and I ain't even got it, I have heard it but don't have a copy, stop talking out your arse you moron!

  • @kphcftw how the hell wud u no

  • @motor538 Easy it hasn't leaked yet and only a few people have heard it, did you not understand when I said I am friends with the band? nothing has leaked, if you had it you would have emailed it to the person that was asking for it! some bullshit excuse that your email don't work, lame! you could easily set a new one up and send it that way or use the one you get notifications from youtube because your email clearly works for that, just stop your lying it's not big or clever!

  • listen to punk and poetry the new album its awesome

  • @motor538 Could you send me the album if i give you my email?

  • two lovers in a chip shop door way.. n'awww.

  • so under rated.

  • @FlashBackkFam massively underrated band but brilliant!!!

  • Have a listen to 'The Future's Not What it used to be' on my channel. Song from the new album

  • @sedwarg best song ive heard so far off the album.

  • @bassdinskadiff It's not being included on the new album

  • very talented.. of course they've sold out a bit.. but hey, being a musician is very hard work.. with no rewards sometimes.. if someone approaches me and says, "write a pop song and i'll sign you" i would throw all my "anti-capitalist, punk-rock" views out the window and write the catchiest, lamest song ever. HATS OFF TO ITCH AND THE BAND :)

  • They're one of the only British bands to be fair

  • Worst chorus I've heard in a long time

    It's...dreary.

  • @DearSergioSM STFU. they are one of the only bands left who actually sing about what matters. you couldn't do any fuckin better anyway. KING BLUES FOREVER!!!

  • @NeverGoneForever23

    Anti Flag,

    Ska-P,

    Alkaline Trio,

    Gaslight Anthem,

    Crazy Arm,

    Rancid.

The list goes on, educate yourself. King Blues have a good message, but it's not a competition.

I didn't say I could do better, just stop hating. Jeez, i commented on it, like you're supposed to. Calm down yo.

  • @DearSergioSM you win this round :P i still think king blues are epic though.

  • @DearSergioSM I quite like it, not up to the standard of KB but i think it works well

  • @DearSergioSM

Listen to Hold on TIght by The king Blues, now thats a dreary! Unreal band though!

  • @WickedaWickeda That song is frieking AMAZING!!! That big build up is increddible I think its one of their best! How can you think hold on tightr was dreary! :-O

  • @MvyMkr Don't get my wrong, Hold on Tight is definitely my favourite song, beautiful lyrically(as all there songs are)... but up-beat is definitely not something i'd call it.

  • @WickedaWickeda Oh sorry, I thought you were saying it was bad. My misunderstanding!

  • Honestly, who cares. It's music. Listen and enjoy or don't listen at all.

At the end of the day, it's not about if they sold out. It's about how a song makes you feel. The mood the lyrics put you in. The beat and how it connects to you. The meanings you get from the song. The feelings music can make you feel.

So enjoy or don't listen. It's as simple as that.

  • In the words of Imperial Leisure: "Selling out would imply that we made some money"

  • @acooper29 Well said sir, well said.

  • they havent sold out at-all :/ they sound exactly the same? it sounds like an angry version of "save the world get the girl" or a catchy version of " what if punk never happened" , it tells a story with a some clever lyrics, sounds like king blues stuff to me?

  • if any other band released this song it would just be shit, the king blues releasing it is just depressing

  • @cmoor5932 Fuck off they've only changed their sound, bands do it all the time, they're staying fresh. The meaning and the art is still there.

  • This song is about supporting england.

  • this is the only good new song by them coz its the only one where you can feel the meanin, wats happened??? they havnt sold out but they used to mean something more than this..........

  • Beat Union guys are ace.

  • They haven't sold out in this song at all. This song has meaning just like most others by them. Cant wait for there new album.

  • I fuckin' hate people that'll say a band have sold out when they move to a different sound, its pathetic.

  • by writing a couple of poppy songs it get's there voice heard...

it still sounds like king blues. the album will still be wicked.

  • why are The King Blues so good!

  • the king blues are afuckingmazing. what the hell is everyone on about?

  • @RosiePeaCrazyMe They talk about sellout.

  • I dont care what anyone says 2:30 onwards in the fucking bomb.

  • The band they come and say that they no wanna play ska,

Them a-wanna play emo 'cause that gonna go far.

See them a-always followin' the new comin' trend,

Them a-got no soul, them a-so shameless.

And when the dust clear, you can be sure that

I still be here skankin' in my porkpie hat...

Well the dust has cleared and itch's porkpie hat is nowhere to be seen.

  • @dohosmum

    They're still punk though.

  • @dohosmum Their values stand strong as ever. We Are Fucking Angry... I dont think they've sold out one bit.

  • @dohosmum Exactly man, nail on the head!

  • @dohosmum they sold out, and it makes me sad. they used to represent something and they got hypnotised by the limelight and the glory. they didnt play anything off under the fog last time i saw them.

  • @baboonfish555 What a load of rubbish! "We don't need your racist jokes" - doesn't sound like selling out to me...

  • @hjessop101 completely changing your sound just so you get played on radio 1 is...

  • @hjessop101 What a fucking terrible point to try and prove TKB haven't sold out.

  • @dohosmum I hate every dick-head who calls me a sell-out when I cant even afford new shoes. why are there so many pricks surrounding any band thats slightly punk that jump on any change in a bands sound saying its selling out? fucking open your minds people :P

  • @drumbum99 Fucking bob on there matey!

  • @drumbum99 Because in their first album, they sang about never selling out, never changing their 'ska' sound and Itch keeping it real with his pork pie hat

  • @ConwayS87 They still play a lot of their old stuff, he still wears the hat. I mean the bands sound has changed, if u dont like that then i respect your opinion but i hardly think its fair to say they sold out. they still hold the same politically motivated ideals, they dont exactly rip off their fans with merch. but if you disagree then alright, go for it.

  • get of your pedestals 'punx' !!! ;) maybe instead of gettin on there backs for progressing you should praise the fact that a band from the underground UK punk scene has actually made it and still has the balls to say ''fuck the bnp, fuck the edl' at massive festivals like leeds n reading. You dont see anti-flag doin' tours where the only entry fee is a copy of the big issue do ya? Grow up!

  • 1) You gotta like remember this is their career...

2)Just changed the style, bandmembers have changed and bands always change, E.G, every single muse album is completely different, but just cause they've finally reached a huge amount of success does it mean theyve sold out?

    3) Theres a difference between making more money and selling out, selling out is when you don't make music for the love of it, just the money, and you CAN'T say that about KB,

    PEACE!

  • I love it how everyone, both those criticising and protecting the band, already "know" that they have changed their style - even though the album is yet to be released. it's not like every single song in under the fog or save the world, get the girl was about politics

  • @Armogslaven Word.

  • @Armogslaven You're right. Style is style, meaning is meaning. They changed their style but still kept their meaning. KBKBKBKBKBKBBBBBBB

  • The best bands do progress, but they also write good songs. New king blues is pretty bad in my opinion but lets wait for the album, they did lose over half there band so they are gona sound abit different but im not liking what im hearing so far!

  • When the fuck is the album coming out? We've had two singles in the last 6 months and still no actual record.

  • Not bad but I think it's ridiculous that the amazing Intro (is that a man or a woman at 53 seconds in), Blood On My Hands, We Ain't Never Done and Mr Music Man aren't their top tunes on spotify. Should easily be. They're yet to top Blood On My Hands

  • @andresdalessandro I think it's the 18th most popular haha come on people

  • Meatball is so cute, and why does everyone think these guys have sold out? Was in their new video for punk and poetry and I can guarantee that they have not sold out! They still stand for everything they started with, the passion in Itch's face when he sings is just natural. If you think they've sold out then you were never a fan of these guys.. you sold them out!

  • Ok can someone explain how there sellouts? I only found them two hours ago and I only know "five shampoo bottles", "headbutt", this and my fave: out of luck.

  • ... and anyone who says this song - or Headbutt for that matter - isn't political isn't listening hard enough. Or doesn't think about politics enough.

  • The band they come and say that they no wanna play ska,

Them a-wanna play emo 'cause that gonna go far.

See them a-always followin' the new comin' trend,

Them a-got no soul, them a-so shameless.

And when the dust clear, you can be sure that

I still be here skankin' in my porkpie hat

or maybe its a case of the band wanna play pop because its gonna go far? maybe they are not sell outs but they are hypocrites

  • i love this song! even better when they played MAIN stage at Reading+Leeds! <

  • Lmao noone sold out

Bands evolve it's a part of music

    And anyways

You'll say no now, but put yourself in there positions... chance to make a couple of hundred quid or a chance to make thousands for being good at something?

That's like [for those of you who have jobs] getting a pay rise for doing nothing.... would you turn it down?

  • Who gives a shit if they "sold out" This song is still fucking amazing, top song guys.

  • They havent sold out, they've just became really really shit

  • Their chorus line is shit, rest of the song is great! Annoys me when people talk about selling out. Artists go into this industry to express themselves and make a but of doe. I doubt they are going to decide to stay in poverty because some spotty prick is moaning about the fact that their newest song is a bit more pop-like!

  • Why are you calling them sell outs? When artists do the same old shit. all their music proves they can do lots of things. Look at Plan B, from Grime to Soul and now to hip-hop and he might move to reggae. Just shows the diversity in music to fit in the diverse britain of today. If they do the same stuff it's just dull. It's still class and it's still the King Blues. Fuck the haters.

  • Fuck sellout! This is out of their normal style but they're still fucking alive!

  • unbelievable band!! keep it up!!

  • love this song tbh.

  • SELL OUTS

  • @a2dz sellouts? man, i bet you've only heard their 'big' songs. The music may have less of an edge but their values still stand...this is the best the king blues have been.

you're the sellout, thinking that they're a changed band.
