Try it out on a real guitar... the low notes are open palm mutes on the E string and the higher nots are on the A string... so its actually impossible to hammer those on... jackass...

Constant Motion was the last thing I (a 9.25 mil drummer) beat from that pack. Sleepwalker is, by far, the most fun. Actually, Carungi's order was just about perfect.

Got these last night, don't play drums all that much, but I do play guitar and bass on expert and have been doing so since GH2. They are too hard, the joy is sucked out of the songs because of this fact, and while challenge and price work well together I'd have to disagree with the reviewer. His Dream Theater review consists of 'I couldn't pass it, I couldn't get past the solo. I'll give it a 9.' Really? I suppose that means a 10/10 is a song no one could ever pass? Great songs...too hard.

Which would be sound reasoning if two things didn't happen. The first is that the rest of the band's charts slow down, which is a bitch, and the second is that Hard gets boring even on more difficult songs, which further detracts from the enjoyment.

I just wish they would have dropped another pack this week to balance out this week's difficulty, like they did when Disturbed came out. Now Buffet is far too easy, but an alternate option would have been nice.

If there is a song that I can't pass, then it's kind of a hint that it will be difficult to have fun on, even though I have a blast playing it.

Besides, on almost all the songs, I give caution because of strumming or complex patterns. That alone should have given you pause to stop, look for a video of the note chart, and see if it'd be a song you could enjoy.

It doesn't matter what the chart looked like, you said it yourself, they are practically giving these songs away at this price so I'd be an idiot not to buy them. I just find it hard to imagine that if one is barely passing a song it could score a 9 or a 9.5 on a 10 scale, but it's all subjective I guess. I can have fun with GGaHT, Metallica, and even Thrasher with a full band, these songs just got really tedious despite song quality.

Though a couple are easy to FC on Expert vocals.

More metal that isn't Mastodon. I'm really getting disappointed in Harmonix's choices in certain DLC areas (i.e. ONE RADIOHEAD SONG, No Primus, No Mastodon, No Bloc Party). At the very least I can take solace in the fact that Colony of Birchmen will be in RB2. That song will kick your ass xygni.

Actually Colony of Birchmen doesn't sound nearly as hard as Painkiller, Panic Attack, Everlong and a couple others, I don't think it'll give Xygni too much trouble.

Not necessarily. It's not as hard as a lot of Mastodon's other stuff, but it's got double bass work through most of the song, which clearly is a weak spot for Xygni, along with Brann Dailor's monster fills. It's got a few time signature changes, as well. Panic Attack will be brutal, though.

I can't beat Thrasher or Blackened, but I passed Constant Motion on my first try, 4* with 75% solo second run. I love it!

Also, the double strokes are an excellent addition to the charts... Why'd they chart that? Because that's what Portnoy's doing man.

Sleepwalker drums are amazing too! Learn your 3-4 polyrhythms! I 5*'d Sleepwalker on the sightread and 98%'d the second time. FUCKING AMAZING FUN SONG!

NOW THIS CARUNGI GUY IS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!!! Not only is he a metal guy, but he is a great reviewer and knows what is a fun song and what is not, no offense to that last guy.

These songs are also fun as HELL on drums, albeit without a double bass pedal they are pretty hard. Also, I don't see why xygni always doesn't like drums parts if they repeat the same part, because the every drummer has to play those kind of parts over and over again, not every song can be a Rush or Who song
