@MrsClayChoi , I am so glad you enjoyed it. I never knew anyone would enjoy it this much. It was worth it to sit through that horrible movie and make this just to get your comments. I really means a lot to us. Thank you.
I should've known better to have hope, butd aw well. If you forget it's supposed to be based off doa. You'll enjoy it more. That's all I can tell you.
@Hyoga87, yeah if I hadn't ever been a fan of the games when I saw this I might have thought this was an OK movie. My friend reviewing it with me always wonders if people who liked the movie go and play the game for the first time if they will hate it because they don't look like or act like the movie.
That movie was like eye candy which is kinda like the game I guess, but the game did set up a great story for someone to do correctly. Idc anymore after I saw dragonball, I was grateful with what I got.
@XxHyoga87xX o puhlease this movie is better than dead or alive games...SERIOUSLY WTF IS A SPARTAN DOING IN A FIGHTING GAME SHOULDNT SHE BE SHOOTING COVENANT
the halo girl was like a promo thing they did thats all. The game is decent. People still play it on 360. I dnt remember how old it is now but I know its like 5 bucks now in the store.
I saw this movie halfway and stopped watching it, the only person that looked like his video game counterpart was Gen Fu and he wasn't even important in the movie and that's saying something, everyone else was just screwed up to the point where I don't know where I should begin at. And they could have just made Zack bald instead of gluing that green triangle on his head to make it look like his hair and don't get me started on Helena.
Lol, yeah I know. I don't know why Zack had SUCH cheap hair. Just have the guy bald. Gen Fu was on for like 13 seconds total. It was horrible. And that gay "5 sisters as 1" attack from Kasumi was COMPLETE BS.
I know right, and Leon was a joke character in the movie where as in the game he was a serious character and being that I didn't see it all the way through is Bayman in this movie?
Unfortunately, yes. If I remember correctly, he was in it and was a joke. The biggest joke is how short Hayate's hair is in the end, nearly bald. Or how Ayane never fights backwards at all in the whole movie. She doesn't use Kidou or anything. It's horrible.
And let's not forget that rope around her head that was used instead of her trademark headband that she has and Brad Wong's hair, he supposed to have long hair it looks like a lawn mower got to it.
Lol, well I hope that DOA5 comes to PS3 like it was rumored. They said before that they put the game on the most powerful system at the time. So that explains why DOA1 was on PS1, DOA2 was on Dreamcast and then ported to PS2 and Xbox and why DOA3 was Xbox and DOA4 was 360 (during the time PS3 wasn't out yet, I believe). So it would make the most sense to put it on PS3 for the next one. I just hope that they port 3 and 4 over as well. I barely get to play 4 on my friend's 360.
@ReneidKlein Dude. It's an adaptation. It isn't an EXACT fucking copy of the game. It's not gonna follow the movie bit by bit and every detail. Just STFU and enjoy the movie.
I might get a million thumbs down for this but, I think this "movie" is an insult to all Dead or Alive fans. I thought Street Fighter was bad, but damn. By the way just wanted to point out that on the game Ayane's eyebrows are brown or some kind of reddish brown.
Funny voices? I'm not sure what part you're talking about but if I remember correctly I didn't really change my voice on the video. So however I talked was probably how I talk when I'm laughing or something. Our voices get higher when we laugh.
I've heard this mistaken opinion once before, regarding Ayane not being "asian" in the movie. Sorry to disappoint you guys, but she IS asian. Natassia Malthe, the actress playing Ayane, is of Norwegian and Filipino descent, so she IS asian. So before you express something as being a matter of fact, you should check that it is in fact, a FACT, and not just your own opinion, based on a persons superficial look. So everbody who's playing an asian character in the movie, IS in fact, asian.
Please point out where we said something was a matter of fact. We were reviewing this and making it up as we went along while seeing the movie for the first time. I went back and added the editing later, but we weren't going to stop the movie and bring up IMDB to see the back history of every actor on the movie before we made a joke about them not being like the game. Thanks for the knowledge, but read the descriptions, this was all for fun. Sorry if she's your favorite actress or something.
Nah, it's not like she's my favorite actress or something. It just annoys me when someone says things like "she doesn't look asian". It's just such a snap judgement. If they fit their characters, then why criticize? It's like with Daredevil. The movie might not have done so well, but let's face it, Michael Clarke Duncan was PERFECT as the Kingpin. But he wasen't white, and so what? Does that even matter? He was completely awesome. Just saying. Let's see who gets to play Master Chief.
See, you said "if they fit their characters". That's just it. She doesn't fit her character, at all. She's a HORRIBLE Ayane. Ayane doesn't act, talk, look or sound like that. The same can be said for almost 100% of the cast on here. They don't look that much like the game characters and they definitely don't act like them. In the movie, Ayane loves Hayate. In the game, they are brother and sister. How is that fitting the character?
Yes, excellent point. But then, if they made a movie based on a game too much like the game, then a moviegoing audience would be unable to get into the movie, because it would be too over the top. Some sacrifices always has to be made when making an adaptation. In fact, one of the best adaptations I've ever seen, is the Lord of the Rings movies, which managed to stay surprisingly true to the books. Very impressively done. Dragonball hasen't premiered here yet, I'm looking forward to it.
My take on that is that if they want to change the story to something that it wasn't, then don't call it what it used to be. If you are going to make a Metroid movie where Samus is a black man that grew up in New Jersey and fought a local gang called the Metroids, don't call it a Metroid movie, you know? How would you feel if you worked hard on a book and the movie was nothing like it other than the characters names?
Also, as a point of discussion, Goku in Dragonball isen't played by an asian, or at least not by one who looks even the least bit asian, but who cares, right? I'm impressed so long as at least half of a cast of a movieadaptation are the actual ethnicity that they are playing. Okay granted, having switched Ayane from being the sister of Hayate to being a girl who's in love with him is a little bit disturbing (and yet a little bit kinky as well). But hey, maybe it works better with the movie.
I can't believe you are looking forward to that. I gusss you're more of a movie than than a game and anime fan. If I was just into movies, I'd want to see it. But because I saw every episode of the series it is based on, seeing how they changed so much in the movie makes me feel like they are intentionally trying ot insult fans. That is not dragonball. Goku doesn't have to be Asian since he's an alien, so that can pass. But the rest of it is epic fail. Horrible looking Kamehameha.
Oh, and was it just me, or was Leon totally kickass in the movie? He was freaking awesome. He's doing vertical pushups with one arm, overhead pressing 600 pounds or something, he's just awesome.
Leon as a stand-alone character in the movie was funny with the gun cocking sounds for his muscles & stuff. But it was an insult to the Leon from the game. That's my gripe. If you want to make a character like that, fine, just don't call him Leon and I will be fine with it. It'd be like if someone did an autobiography of my life and hired actors that didn't act like my friends because they thought it'd be a funnier movie that way. Don't call it an autobiography if it's not canon, you know?
I'm feeling you dawg. But you do also recognize the need to "adapt" a game, comic or book into a movie, right? The rules for a cartoon are different than a movie, you can get away with more stuff. It was probably a good idea to change Piccolo from a greenskinned alien with antenna into something a little less 1950's era sci-fi. And I did love the gun-cocking sound of Leon, that was cool. The whole ripping and tearing furniture apart thing worked for me too.
But think about it. Name five, no, try to name even three live action movies based on anime or videogames that were successful and managed to please the fans? Most, if not all, game-to-movie or anime-to-movie films suck. Most, if not all, deviate from the core plot. I think that is the main reason why they fail. If you had taken the Street Fighter movie and just pitched it as a Van Damme movie where he fought a crazed guy bent on world domination it wouldn't have been AS bad, I think.
But in defence of the moviemakers, they do usually say a movie is "based on", meaning they will be taking liberties with the movieadaptation. I hope Halo will get made into a movie. As for Dragonball, I have hopes that it will at least maintain what I consider to be at the core of the anime, intensity, ki, and lots and lots of explosions.
Interesting. While several comic to movie adaptations can be mentioned as being both succesful and true to the core material, I do have difficulty in doing the same with game and anime to movie adaptations. But to be fare, don't the comic to movie adapts rule the market, rather than anime and games? Or is it just, that the anime and games sucked so much as movies, that none of us ever really heard about them? Wait, I just got one, Mortal Kombat.
MK was the only thing that could come to mind with me. It wasn't what I'd really call a great movie but it did keep the look of the characters and their names as well as the plot for the most part and did well in theaters if I remember correctly. And yes, many book and comic adaptations do well but maybe it is the companies behind it. Compare the Marvel movies to the DC movies. Aside from Batman Begins/DK, the Marvel movies all trump the DC ones in sales. Maybe it's because...
Stan Lee, the man behind Marvel, actually has a say and is IN most of the movies. See, if you respect the source material you can do great. Now look at Spiderman movies, even though they went away from the comic's whole web cartridges and made it so Peter made the webs himself in the movies, it worked well and made sense. However, changing Eddie Brock/Venom was hated by all fans because it made no sense to make him so different. But people that didn't read the comics liked him.
You know what, let's make this a challenge, just for fun. Same goes for anyone else who might be reading this. Name all the game and anime to movie adaptations that were relatively succesful, and that was well recieved with loyal fans. That could be interesting, anyway, I've got dibs on Mortal Kombat, that movie was, as far as I remember, both fairly succesful and respected by fans. Anyone else got a bid?
Well if we can add foreign movies then it will be easier. The NANA live Action movie was amazing & did well. Casshern was also awesome but I don't think it was completely cannon with the story. Death Note is my favorite foreign movie ever but fans had mixed reactions about it. The movie was great but because it was different than the anime in some of the plot, some fans of the anime disliked it. I didn't like what I saw of the anime but loved the movie. So that all goes back to my theory.
I'm a huge DOA fan and I cried when I saw this movie...How in the hell could they fuck up the plot THIS bad and why the hell did they make Ryu such a loser?! He's my favorite character and they made him a clueless moron....he was suppose to be the cool one....:(
I know! The hair is wrong with everyone on this movie as well. Did you see 'Christy' and how perfectly white her hair is? And how close her martial arts stile is. That was sarcasm, btw.
this movie would have been better off if they got cosplayers from a anime/video game convention, gave them the script and provided stunt doubles that actually gets the martial arts right. Then it would be a decent movie. I'm still mad they fucked up Ryu...he's suppose to be aloof and all wise as well as kickass....he just sucks ass...
Big time. Did you see how whiny he was at the beginning and how Kasumi was talking down on him like that? That's a BIG difference from "I promised Hayate I would not let you die, but I cannot let you go. Know that the way of the Shinobi is terribly harsh" kinda speak he had on DOA2 when he fought Kasumi.
I know... the sad part is that he could EASILY kick her ass and keep her in that stupid castle. I thought he was a super ninja, not a super pussyXD Loved part two by the way. didn't know Kasumi could hang glide. maybe she learned it the same time Ryu learned to ride a motorcycle in Ninja Gaiden 2
Lol, well I had tried to put part 3 up but stupid Camtasia keeps getting the audio out of sync so I stopped for a while and I keep forgetting to try. Maybe I'll try again this weekend, who knows.
Well it has gotten 2,639 views so far and I have over 200 subscribers and 11,000 channel views, so apparently a lot of people want to "hear" (not 'here') my opinion. Thank you anyway for the comment. I feel we are all entitled to our own opinions. However, most people that played the game series know the movie is nothing like the game so we dislike it because we love the game so much. I see you list this movie as a favorite on your profile. Have you played any of the games first?
Completely. And I bet they really thought "Wow, this is going to be great!" I guarantee you they weren't a fan of the game. No one who liked the game could have raped it like this.
Yeah, there's probably some idiot out there who tries to play the game after seeing this and wonders why Ayane and Hayate aren't in love and what happened to those downloadable shades that let you see the future of someone's fighting. Lamest BS idea ever.
Rofl! I haven't heard of half-incest but that's darn sure what they are doing in this movie, lol. Man, they just don't THINK when they make up these scripts, do they?
Lol, true that. And I don't know why someone would mark your comment as spam if the point of my video is to show that the movie sucks, lol. Have you seen this piece of garbage?
Rofl! Mission accomplished. Well at least you see it in detail before having to rent it or buy it. My friend bought it at Blockbuster for like $4.00. I think he got taken for $3.00.
What's up lil brother!! you know you are so wrong for trippin on this poorly thrown together movie that tries to make money of the very popular DOA series video games. I guess the writers didn't know the backstory with the characters. perhaps they were just given a group of names and a brief decription and were made to do an improve like movie based on the names they were given! LOL I wouldn't be surprised if they made Tengu Kasumi's brother in the end! LMAO
Wasn't that far off. Ayane, Ein and Kasumi are all bro and sis. Yet in the movie, Ayane and Ein fall in love and make out later on. The wrestler chick (Tina) uses karate and her father is Kevin Nash (Big Sexy, the wrestler). We talk about that crap later in the review. I think I'll start working on the other parts, lol.
Really? Thanks. I will think about it. You're the only person so far that actually said they wanted to see more so I'll think about it. It gets funnier later on, if I'm not mistaken but I'd have to do this in like 2 or 3 more parts to fit it all in.

I'm a huge DOA fan and I cried when I saw this movie...How in the hell could they fuck up the plot THIS bad and why the hell did they make Ryu such a loser?! He's my favorite character and they made him a clueless moron....he was suppose to be the cool one....:(
KushinadaAngel 2 years ago
I know! The hair is wrong with everyone on this movie as well. Did you see 'Christy' and how perfectly white her hair is? And how close her martial arts stile is. That was sarcasm, btw.
ReneidKlein 2 years ago
this movie would have been better off if they got cosplayers from a anime/video game convention, gave them the script and provided stunt doubles that actually gets the martial arts right. Then it would be a decent movie. I'm still mad they fucked up Ryu...he's suppose to be aloof and all wise as well as kickass....he just sucks ass...
KushinadaAngel 2 years ago
ReneidKlein 2 years ago
I know... the sad part is that he could EASILY kick her ass and keep her in that stupid castle.

Thank you very much, I hope we can do more similar videos soon.

this is so~ annooying! why do people do reviews on there videos? nobody wants to here your opinions!!!
twilighter218thehost 3 years ago
Well it has gotten 2,639 views so far and I have over 200 subscribers and 11,000 channel views, so apparently a lot of people want to "hear" (not 'here') my opinion. Thank you anyway for the comment. I feel we are all entitled to our own opinions. However, most people that played the game series know the movie is nothing like the game so we dislike it because we love the game so much. I see you list this movie as a favorite on your profile. Have you played any of the games first?

"Hold up. Pause it a second. Is it me, or does that armor look alittle flimsy?"
GiggaGMikeE 3 years ago 2
Lol, it does if you look at it.
ReneidKlein 3 years ago
This(along with Part 2) is hilarious. Sounds my cousin and I (who also plays MH) when we watch movies.
GiggaGMikeE 3 years ago
I appreciate that. I am glad you can relate to it. And what days do you normally kai, Gembis?
ReneidKlein 3 years ago
directors fucked this movie
thaoshwn 3 years ago
Completely. And I bet they really thought "Wow, this is going to be great!" I guarantee you they weren't a fan of the game. No one who liked the game could have raped it like this.
ReneidKlein 3 years ago
This movie was horrible, they messed up the story and the casting was baaaaaaaaaaaad. Except fot that fine ass Silvio Simac as Leon.
GamingQueen88 3 years ago 2
Lol, that's true that the movie sucked. I can't comment on Leon since I'm a guy though, lol.
ReneidKlein 3 years ago
When I found out that Natassia Malthe was playing Ayane I knew it was going downhill. I laugh at the moron who thinks this movie is the real story.
GamingQueen88 3 years ago
Yeah, there's probably some idiot out there who tries to play the game after seeing this and wonders why Ayane and Hayate aren't in love and what happened to those downloadable shades that let you see the future of someone's fighting. Lamest BS idea ever.
ReneidKlein 3 years ago
i know!
lol
if she's kasumi's half-sister, then isn't that half-incest?
hmmm.
DylanMaskelyne 3 years ago
Rofl! I haven't heard of half-incest but that's darn sure what they are doing in this movie, lol. Man, they just don't THINK when they make up these scripts, do they?
ReneidKlein 3 years ago
obviously not.
"Ayane, I know of your love for... your brother."
rofl-copter
DylanMaskelyne 3 years ago
Aw man, that was hilarious. Maybe I should re-dub that part to say that or something, lol.
ReneidKlein 3 years ago
This movie sucks.
TwilightBullet87 3 years ago
Lol, true that. And I don't know why someone would mark your comment as spam if the point of my video is to show that the movie sucks, lol. Have you seen this piece of garbage?
ReneidKlein 3 years ago
Nope, iv'e just seen this video and i already know it stinks.
TwilightBullet87 3 years ago
Rofl! Mission accomplished. Well at least you see it in detail before having to rent it or buy it. My friend bought it at Blockbuster for like $4.00. I think he got taken for $3.00.
ReneidKlein 3 years ago
He got taken for $3.99
TwilightBullet87 3 years ago
Rofl. Well the DVD it was printed on cost a bit more than that. But I guess putting this trash on it lowered the value of the DVD.
ReneidKlein 3 years ago
What's up lil brother!! you know you are so wrong for trippin on this poorly thrown together movie that tries to make money of the very popular DOA series video games. I guess the writers didn't know the backstory with the characters. perhaps they were just given a group of names and a brief decription and were made to do an improve like movie based on the names they were given! LOL I wouldn't be surprised if they made Tengu Kasumi's brother in the end! LMAO
tiwainashanda 3 years ago
Wasn't that far off. Ayane, Ein and Kasumi are all bro and sis. Yet in the movie, Ayane and Ein fall in love and make out later on. The wrestler chick (Tina) uses karate and her father is Kevin Nash (Big Sexy, the wrestler). We talk about that crap later in the review. I think I'll start working on the other parts, lol.

you guys are the best...your work is also the best!
siphear 3 years ago
u definatly need to upload more of this :)
siphear 3 years ago
Really? Thanks. I will think about it. You're the only person so far that actually said they wanted to see more so I'll think about it. It gets funnier later on, if I'm not mistaken but I'd have to do this in like 2 or 3 more parts to fit it all in.
