  • It looks very impressive, nice atmoshpere and graphic animations of killed enemies but I don't play it so maybe it's not interesting game at all. But looks tasty :).

  • It is always helpful to learn about a game before one attempts to review it. I wrote the manual and I believe it is clear and useful. With a long dev schedule and a few million spent, KT is hardly a "tech demo," but then the reviewer makes it clear the backstory was unknown to him so the subtle qualities are equally opaque. =Bob Vieira=

  • (cont.) sequences that are made bearable by having an analogue stick.

  • Hi, this looks like a really early review, but i didnt check the date... Looks like a lot to admire in this game for the 3DO. It actually looks good and seems to be designed better than Escape From Monster Manor, but it looks like its awful to play. A lot of its to do with the d-pad just not working for FPSs. Something like the Saturn 3D controller would have been great on the 3DO. Enemy Zero sold me on the massive difference it can make. Its an example of Saturn game with 3D First Person seque

  • so to summarise....."UGGGH I REALLY DONT LIKE THIS GAME BECAUSE I AM AN IDIOT AND CAN'T PLAY IT" ......classy review.

  • yes it KILLED my time for sure,, it was great game

  • Aside from the questionable framerate and the jumpy movement of the character, this is in my top 10 FPS of all time. I dont know why people rag on it so much, I guess it's an "acquired" taste

  • This game was one of the two best games for 3DO... the other being Wing Commander 3.

  • thanx man for all this information ...u bring me back to the beautiful past ...and i have a question for u did u finish the whole game or no if your answer is yes ..what is the end of this game? ...thank u

  • I have a MINT copy of this game for the console.

    Played thru once.

    Adult owned.

    Smoke free home.

Plastic wrap, (opened at one end) is still on the long box.

    Complete.

Contact me if you want this verrry scarrry game!

  • Played this games to death - my original 3do disc is scratched to pieces!!! It's a pity the 3do emulator isn't up to it audio -wise as the music and sound of this game is the best part!! Yep, also used to creep me out constantly as the ememies are pretty ruthless in this game. The maids punching you, prohibitionist throwing bottles at you - the onslaught of attacks from all angles...I never played at anything above the easiest level!!!! I completed it on several occassions - reagrds Paul

  • i dont like this game. after all, i am playing it on an emulator which totally fucks up the sound and oh yeah im sandbagging my graphics card with some video recording software that eats up all my fps and causes something made in the 90s to run like shit on my modern computer but i dont really think that has anything to do with it this game is bad. 1 star

  • I used to love this game! Really used to creep me out (but ya, it's kinda bad)

  • dude if you cant figure out how to negotiate the maps perhaps you just arent trying or plain suck..i have no problem with it, its easy.

  • Are the textures around the screen edge blurring because of the game engine, or the emulator?

  • @SkorpyoTFC Not sure but I was playing this on FreeDO emulation so it could be doing something.

  • This reminds me of Power Slave/ Exhumed on the PS1.

  • i bought one in 1996 for 140 it was so cool,if you press a certain button when loading a game just at the right time the "bios" would load..or perhaps i got a weird model and give you the option of copying the cartridge or cd...via some weird data out cable thing..never tried it but always thought it was interesting.

  • your opening theme is a Sega CDX isnt it?

  • @KeithWasHere1 Well it's from my model 2 Sega CD so I guess that might be the same? I've never had a CDX but they changed the music from the model 1 and model 2. CDX is cool though I have a JVC X'eye. Still wouldn't mind the little guy!

  • youd hate the riddle/puzzles the litle girl gives you...those were difficult.

  • 3dos were what 800 bucks when they first came out...insane

  • shoot the ducks...they splatter all over the place..

  • @FOZproductionz yeah the screaming skulls were a trip and vastly different than the console game and the demon maids were different than the fat flushing maids in the 3d0 version

  • the pc version is better

  • Great Game! I remember this game! 3DO Rules!

  • Not bad. You wanna a even more bizarre FPS? Then play The Fortress of Dr. Radiaki on PC. That's a mess.

  • ABOOT

  • Star Control 2!

  • This was my 1st 3DO game, and probably the best.

  • I like the look and style of this game. Wouldn't mind getting it some time.

  • Damn and i used to think this game looked real as hell. Now it looks like shit. The game layout was really well done, kind of reminded me of metroid but in a different setting of course.

  • i guess the computer version is better, cause you can sidestep and move around at the same time. and the map looks like its sucks in this version. And you cant tell how many keys and vessels you have

  • I graduated two years after this game was made. Wow. I used to be scared to play this game but now it looks like poop. I beat it though.

  • Wow this actually looks really good to me! =D

  • Copy protection on 3DO was just cracked a few years ago... they were actually thinking about piracy quite a bit. the Sega GD-ROM for the DC not even that good.

This game was one of the best on 3DO. You needed to invest a LOT of time, and have some skill to get thru it -and a LOT of dramamine. The story was creative and they were smart enough to hide loading times while you navigated thru hallways between levels collecting ammo. There are a lot of cool things if you take your time with this game.

  • I have a few 3do games, as I purchased this system in 1994 for $400. SSF2 Turbo is really good, almost as hard as the arcade, only the backgrounds are stillframes, meaning there is no scrolling. I have this games also and Escape from monster manner. They were good efforts back then, mostly for the fact they were on the first 32-bit system. I think Killing time is great, but it would have been better if released on the Saturn or Playstation. Gameplay was too choppy at some points.

  • Road Rash was epic

  • Whaaat?! This game was awesome! At least on PC. I got to the very last part, but I never finished it, I have no idea why. Who knows how young I was, but I remember the storyline was really cool. Also, PC starts out on a boat, so it may be a different game completely. Good memories though. Good memories.

  • Nice video. I have this game and I feel that same as you about it. Not exactly fun to plat but, at the time it was blowing minds visually.

  • This is one of my favorite FPS games ever, the gameplay took getting used to, but the atmosphere was better than most games out there at the time... not to mention, the soundtrack is amazing.

  • @razzberri Thanks! I had fun writing the music. =Bob Vieira=

  • @razzberri Thanks! I had fun writing the music. =Bob Vieira=

  • Judging by the video, I think the PC version I played as a kid was much better. The graphics for the enemies and weapons weren't as good, but the level design was way better since it made more sense. You started off on a boat, and there's an actual storage room nearby the first FMV you see. There weren't any hunters, ducks, or daylight either. You had to fight some zombified gangsters and gardeners in the first few areas.

Man, I wish I could play that game again.

  • this is my favorite FPS of all times. just 'cause of the atmosphere it created.

  • That looks awesome!

  • I stoped caring what you thought when you said you didnt like the game because it was too hard.

  • Doesn't sound like you gave the game much of a chance anyway.

I loved this game because I easily got emersed in it.

I will say that younger gamers of today's time might not like it because they don't have enough patience. The music and atmosphere will keep you hooked if give it a chance.

  • Oh i loved this game. Sadly the pc-Version is a completely other version than the better 3do Version. Can you tell me which emulatior do you use?

  • atmosphere reminds me of an early bio-shock

  • I also thought this game was one of the best ever for the 3DO, it is still a classic on its own right, and it took me five months of solid playing to finally beat it, but just exploring each of the rooms was fun enough--when you hit the kitchen the cooks would fling knives and you and those housekeepers were psycho! "Housekeeping! Housekeeping!" great vid, dude, but as I said I beat it, and then I beat it again and I was done.

  • THIS IS MY FAV 3do game it rocks i like it better than the pc ver!!!!!!!!!!

  • i love this game and have been playing it for YEARS and still can't beat it.i have the MAC version and it is very different from the 3DO game.the original CD had a flaw and i had to download a patch for it,after that it was lots of fun! it still gives me chills when i play. anyway,it's a great way to KILL SOME TIME!

  • Congrulations

    It is a very good!!

  • doesent look like too bad of a game for the time. looks like a mix of doom/fantasmagoria

  • FUCK YOU FATTY IT KICKS ASS!

  • its HE opinion on the game, and you should respect it.

  • No I won't because he doesn't like it but he still plays it so it must kick ass!

  • it did have a bioshock/metroid type feel. where you have to backtrack throughout the the game. graphics werent the best, but the atmosphere was dead on.

  • Exactly what I always thought, it's like the whole game is the fps equivilant of a metroid/castlevania style set up, ie giant explorable environments, the music in this game is really fantastic too and adds a lot to the already excellent atmosphere.

  • damn. keep you fking opinion away

  • bioshock inspiration?

  • @tresdizz No bioshock's inspiration was system shock.

  • @tresdizz Actually Bioshock's inspiration was system shock 2 for the pc a hell of a game that was really Underrated.

  • They just don't make game like they used to. Now'a days its all about money and being "accessible to a wider audience" or "mainstream".

In-other-words making it so easy that a retard could play it. And let's not forget how everything just "has" to have japanese anime in it.

  • games*, they don't make games like they used to.

    God I can't type.

  • remember when games kept you up day and night trying to master it without being repetetive? now you just get 5-20 hrs. of boring repetitive eye candy.

  • i love killing time.

  • At least I'm not the only one that couldn't figure out this one. I was lost in space....

  • Man, I loved this game back in the day. The 3DO was really ahead of its time, and Trip Hawkins never got the credit he deserved in the games industry.

  • lol I remember getting this game on the PC for my birthday when I was like, 11 or something and it scared the shits out of me. haha. good ol' days!

  • ok i use to have it for killing time for pc but i just lost it and can someone telll me WHERE I CAN DOWNLOAD IT !?

  • I remember playing this game on the pc when I was 6, good times. Gave me nightmares but still fun game.

  • Man I downloaded the pc version & played it, & man it's very different from this 3DO version

  • better or worse?

  • I would say better, because the graphics were definately updated in the pc version

  • where did u get it ?

  • Darn, I forgot the name of the website now, but I'm sure I can find it somewhere again so no worries

  • tyvm if u find it cuz i liked the gane when i was little i just wanna play it again

i had it from a demo cd

  • 5:26 the point is those are doors that require keys which you find throughout the game and it is a requirement to beat the game and unlock different endings without cheats. you can find the flamethrower in the sewers and it is incredibly powerful and the duel pistols is neer the entrance to the sewer in the beginning of the game before you get into the castle.

  • i have completed killing time on 3do and was one of the most hardest games i have ever completed it killed my eyes, but was so compelled to complete it, also i found the ghost tess really sexy i think thats her name so i had lots of wanks over her. lol

  • Maybe it's the fact I had this as a kid, But this is my favorite fps of all time. Buckets of gore, very original premise and unique storyline, killer soundtrack, its classic. There are about 7 weapons actually, if you count the ankh.

  • I kinda like this crapy game. Like you had said Jake. It was one of those games that when we where young We wanted to see and play it. But Couldn't afford the system. But It was always on our minds. Kinda like way of the warrior. HAHA! GREAT CRAPY GAMES! Great review!

  • How often would you say you drink heavily? Please answer, serious question.

  • You should note that this is one of if not the first cd-rom open world games. There are no load screens between maps. You can go from one end of the mansion to the next without ever hitting a load screen.

  • The pop up Sprites remind me of the ghosts in a game called bioshock.

  • I go this on 3DO myself and just found the strafing to be an absolute total nightmare in it. (possibly as i'm so used to dual analogue controls now, I'm not sure)

But its interesting to see it had the whole Art Deco style down in an FPS 12 years before BioShock did.

Also if you want to see more 3DO FPS's check out PO'ed, Virtuoso (if only for the cheesy soundtrack) and Escape from Monster Manor (which used to make me jump so much it ended up pissing me off to play it).

  • Wow! ScrewattackEurope posted! Congradulate youself MN12BIRD!

  • I always post on his videos dude ^_^

  • Better framerate then 3DO doom...

  • yeah I heard 3DO DooM was really bad!

  • the screen size is horrible

  • i play for the pc it good and funny

  • The graphics look really nice as well as running fast

  • Are there any 3DO games you would recommend ?

  • Road Rash and Need for Speed are MUST HAVES! Alone in the Dark was good. It has one of the best versions of Street Fighter II also. The Shockwave games are cool and actually I liked Crash and Burn (I think it was called) but I haven't played that in like 14 years so it might actually suck!

  • @Gispero in my opinion, Heroes III of Might and Magic...

  • You killed that Clown, now that clown makes me lol!

  • Just wondering if you do any heavy drinking at all?

  • Oh man, I always wanted to play this game back in the day. It looked really awesome then.

  • Thanks for showing us.

Yeah it doesn't look like alot of fun.

You should review the game "Limbo of the Lost"

  • 4TH Comment!! Saweet!

  • Dude its 13 years old on a console that predates Playstation and Saturn by several years!

  • well i guess it was Nice for its time! but overall story to the game looks horrible lol

  • the game has a great story if you actually take the time to figure it out . tess conway is a rich chick in the 1920's obsessed with egypt . she finds out that there were egyptian water clocks that if run on blood will keep you alive forever , but only if you're near them . professor hargrove (your characters college professor) finds them but tess steals them from hargrove .

  • in an attempt to make it so she and her friends can live forever on her island she does some incantation which puts her soul into vessles all around the island , but something bad happens (i won't spoil it) . instead of making everyone live forever it kills them all and basically turns everyone on the island into zombies ...or undead ....whatever . then you show up and have to sort the whole mess out . it's a great game and is still one of my all time favorites .

  • @MN12BIRD The game is probably older than the person that made that comment. I wish kids would go away.

  • @JarrodDrover123 go see the 3do title Cyberdillo and reconsider that

  • FIRST COMMENT!!! Just kidding, I want to know why people always put that there, So please leave a reply on why you think they do.

  • I have no idea why some people do that. Its so retarded if you ask me!

  • they have no life
