  • Pricelesss....

    My rock n roll heroes.

  • great pace.....thanks again todd and associates

  • Just when you thought you couldn't love Rundgren more!! Ahhhhh!

  • one black guy at uk covered this song. I forgto his name. Does anyone know?

  • I have the Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab gold CD of this album, and it sounds awesome! I was just becoming a Todd-head when this came out. I saw him/them at the Suffolk Forum aka LI Arena/Commack arena, LI in late 77. Cheap Trick opened, and we were like WTF? We thought they were a joke band, Cheap Trick..lol.They blew us away! Then Todd and the boys blew us away. - On to Central Park 78, 79, 80, and beyond! Those were the days!

  • @jagfug sounds like a great night...nights

  • Thanks Todd, you have gotten me through some hard times.

  • Makes the world just ever such a little bit better to live in.

  • England Dan and John Ford Coley made this a hit. Todd and Utopia made this a classic.

  • For Stephanie M who today passed from this world at age 21.

  • the England Dan John Ford Coley version was one of my favorite songs and i thought it was kind of an unusually written song - years later i became a Todd fan and discovered he wrote it, and then it all made sense. Todd's version is way better, i don't bother with the other one anymore

  • What A fantastic Musical masterpiece!Good stuff for sure!

  • This is my single favorite song by Todd. This album came out the same time as Hermit of Mink Hollow (by Todd also) all fans need to get them. Todd Rundgren never made a bad album.

  • @hdrake1000 FYI- believe it or not Oops was Oct of 77, Hermit he did over the Winter and it was released the following Spring -April 78 ~ If that wasn't enough Bat Out of Hell was released the same week as Oops, the 4-piece Utopia lineup acting as the session band. I'd love to have been living up in the Bearsville/Woodstock area back then! To think I was only 90 mins away in Wantagh, Long Island. Todd owns the 70's. His finest period. IMHO!

  • Everyone knows that love is the answer, but to what question? Every single question.

  • @545t3t4t5 I am so going to borrow this. "Love never fails." 1 Corinthians 13

  • Love, love, love... takes us back.

  • one of his most powerful and beautiful songs, from a man that is a genius and so far ahead of his time ,it still brings tears to my eyes to hear it

  • The only reason why this wasnt an international hit...is the shitty promotion arm of "Bearsville", a label that buried its talent. A wonder we ever heard of Todd, Foghat and Randy Vanwarmer!!

  • I totally agree with huskerdu and as Todd Rundgren wrote it and is singing it here ... no contest.

  • JUST INCREDIBLE! Todd Is Godd! ;o)

  • Light of the world... shine on me.... LOVE is the answer!!!

  • He IS currently touring with Utopia!

  • I wish Todd Rundgren would tour again. the world needs more music that only Todd could perform great post

  • This song has always been very spiritual for me.I am atheist, but I'm not a bitter one.I have found that love is the answer. And that for me God is just another name for love.---Shine On

  • @OPTIMIZEDd

    nice

  • thank you , I love Todd Rungren....!

  • After loving this at 16 and knowing every inch of the cover- it wasnt until my late 40s I understood the symbolism- shame- as he sings of The Light of the World but misses the point in his searching in Alice Baileys unholy writings.

  • @awaitthegroom Who is Alice Bailey??

  • @misssiberia69 Alice Bailey was a disciple of Helena Blavastsky and an occultist- She wrtoe the book The externalisation of the Hierarchy which Todd R read and inspired his music- She formed the publishing company Lucifer Trust which they changed to Lucis Trust which has developed into a publishing/ new age occultic group actually members of the UN They believe that the spiritula masters which they channel are coming to help us achieve godhood- its new age/ occultic teaching. Loads more on yt.

  • @misssiberia69 If you google her and Blavastsky and Crowley you will get the idea- Freemasonry/ illuminati and occultism are different aspects of the same thing. I can send you some videos if you are interested. The pyramid with steps - phallic tower and many windows are all symbols of this occultic teaching - pyramid seen in masonry and in media.

  • @awaitthegroom Belated reply but your right with what you've said...all this album cover needs is an all seing eye.

  • @BlueOrpheus1988 Thank you! its sometimes like wading through custard to explain to others the machinations of the music business.

  • Great!!!

  • Mr. Rundgrens lyrics and musical arrangements have blessed my spirit since the early 70s and feel the same way about every song as if it was the first time i have heard it., same affect Amazing Thats Divine!!!

  • its a lonly world.

  • i feel sorry for the one dislike, sad

  • Not only is this the best version of this song....it may well be the best song ever!!!! They should play this at political conventions !!!!!

  • @huskerdu1661 I agree !!! I keep thinking of Spock "Even a sane man must appear insane in a insane society'

  • @huskerdu1661 agreed. Todd's anthems are as good as Lennon's.

  • @BlueOrpheus1988 Or, as Joni Mitchell put it in The Boho Dance, "the virtue of your style inscribed on your contempt for mine"

  • It is absolutely amazing how complex and subtle Rundgren's arrangment and production are on this track.

  • There is no other version. Todd wrote it, sings it, makes it pierce you to your core, and that's that.

  • You call this version better ? ? ? You gotta be kidding ? ? ?

  • This is the best version TR has done of this track, soulful vocal, great arrangement.

  • Todd Rundgren rocks! Just found out last year that he wrote it. Fantastic!

  • Love this....

  • ENGLAND DAN AND who???? hahahahahahahahha this is the ONLY VERSION for mE!

  • No disrespect to England Dan and John F. C. but this original version by Utopia should have taken the charts.

  • @44reedom Right on

  • @44reedom Agreed. Very liberating and spiritually triumphant song.

  • @44reedom Michael Tsarion is the worlds premier conspiracy researcher/lecturer/author. Leo Zagami, Jordan Maxwell and Alexandre Dumas pere are highly informative as well. p.s. Melting Euphoria is similar to Ozric Tentacles and Gong.

  • @44reedom Truly told.

  • @44reedom well theirs is slicker and more radio friendly. but it all worked out.
