@dkgdbr Everything's got it's own special quality I guess. Nothing beats the B3 class organ for expressive qualities I'm sure most agree. THe X5 I'll play when I get time to fix them :-). They have their own qualities I hear. Of the combo organ world though I really like this farfisa a lot, the continentals (dual except portability is the best of course) and the YC yamahas. The 45D is a great one for sound and features. The Elka, whitehalls and some more obscure ones are cool too though.

In order to engage the white tab section, you need to switch off the "multi-tone boost" tab. If the multi tone boost tab is engaged, the green tabs (16, 8, 4, All Boost) shape the tone and the white tabs will have no effect on the sound.
@scfjazz99 Thats awesome man. I wish my parents wouldve gotten me one! My first keyboard was a Kawai ES6 I got about a year and a half ago from them. Turns out they wouldve gotten me a Vox Continental if I wanted it instead. Oh well. The ES6 is great and I'm not gonna complain!
@MFN2000s It's a brief demo, not a music video. I always like to cram a lot of dynamics of as many dimensions as possible into the demo in order to...demonstrate the instrument. I'm trying to do an actual *music* video at the moment. It may more may not have flying finger moments in it. Haven't decided yet. lol.
@MFN2000s Thats so true - I hear so many people playing organ on youtube who do exactly the same thing when they start off 'diddlediddle er diddlediddlediddle er' always out of time - sounds like playing, but isn't.
Oh yeah someone parted one out. The board went for more than I wanted to pay. Sadly they parted it because of the keyboard! I figure I'll do a project with it and build something with it someday or find someone with a trashed out case who need it.
Ok I see that top-1 is a 1968 model. Like I say in email I have little experience with this company. I have an acetone of some kind setting in storage to work on someday. Haven't pulled it out yet to check it over. It's a dual manual thing. Looks like a bit of a project with broken keys and stuff. :-) No clue on values of them obviously.
Very nice demo. The description seems to imply that this particular Compact is unusual because of the tube preamp. In fact, EVERY Farfisa compact (and Compact Deluxe) has that tube preamp, so it's nothing unusual. nice specimen, though!
I was taking Paul's word on the relative rarity of the tube pre-amp ones. And *thought* we had an all solid state one in the shop here...but looking I see you're probably right! It has tube pre-amp also! Paul tells me he read the history of the organ...but combo organ heaven clearly supports what you are saying it appears! Hmm. Thanks for pointing out that error..we'll figure out where Paul got that misinformation..
I wish I could explain the difference in the sound. It...gushes forth :-). It's more like turning on a hose when you hit keys rather than flipping a switch. It really is a pleasing instrument to play.
Farfisa, Vox, or Hammond? which is better?

Why do people think that making music consists in moving you fingers fast?

For a real fun demonstration of the tube preamp in one of these, try holding down some of the keys as you flip the power switch!
