I have 3 porches around my house and in 3 of the inside corners there is a hole, and usually two holes, one for emergencies. They are impossible to stop watching once you start. I have a thousand pictures. 3 babies last year. Have not seen any yet. They love the little carrots. They will have a tug of war over them. It's mine/ no it's mine!!! I have watched them so long now it would be impossible for me to get rid of them. Everybody says I should but no way. They do no harm I see.
@peccleft64 I have a full basement right next to them so they would have to really dig deep. And from the amount of dirt on the outside of the hole, which I have since used for landscaping another area, the holes are not big dens. I think that the main hole is out under our shed but it is impossible to see under there. We have gone around the part of the house where there is a crawlspace and there is no damage. We are always checking though!
Update - this momma had 2 babies this Spring who play in the bushes around my front porch and they scratch on my screen door when they hear me inside.
He is a mean keyboard player for a rodent :)

They move 700 pounds of dirt on average building their tunnels. Those tunnels are probably right underneath your foundation.
