Too bad this band didn't have a better trumpet player. The guitarist, pianist and drummer were very good, but the trumpet player had noticable problems with breath control and intunation. If had been the conductor. I would have replaced the trumpet solo with another guitar break. Maximize your strong points and minimize your weaknesses. Kudos to Alicia!

@brabon1 Hello. Thanks for the comment. No, soloists don't necessarily have to stand up. For example, later that night, after this performance, we went to go see a group which consisted of Steve Turre trombone, and a couple others guys on trumpet, sax and a rhythm section, with Melvin Sparks on guitar. Sparks didn't stand up on any of his solos. It's a purely subjective thing whether you want to or not. Check out Wynton and Lincoln Center. He almost never stands up.
