  • Hi Lora,

    Yes, light Classics.

I will certainly be interested in your new class teaching light Classics.

    Thanks and Cheers from Mauritius.

  • Lora,

I ordered a set of Perlon Strings from a European Country. The Strings D, A, E are playing well, but the G String does not seem to respond well. I have to play at 30 degrees and dig in a bit heavier, and still I do not like the sound. Is Perlon sometimes causing problems than the Steel Strings ? I'll appreciate your advice.

  • Compared to steel strings, YES, Perlon strings will take a little more work to get them to respond. I have never used steel strings, so I really can't relate to this dilemma. I want to say it's normal, but I can't say for sure. Sorry. --L

  • Hi Lora,

That's great to have a proper fiddle course on line. I have always said that there are Teachers and Teachers. I appreciate your way to teach the Violin.

Is this only for US Citizens ? If it applies for overseas Students, too, may I suggest that we may choose some tunes other than the typically American tunes. For example, some classics like Chopin Raindrops, Brahms Waltz, Brahms Lulluby, Scarborough Fair, Love Story etc.

Hugs and best wishes from Mauritius.

  • Hey Mauritius

Thanks for the suggestions! My course is open to folks world-wide. I will keep your requests in mind for another course. Currently, the fiddle class I have now focuses on ONLY American and Irish tunes. You are describing "light classics", and that would be a very fun class to teach. I will keep it in mind, but it will be over a year before I can get to it! --L

  • @pastore0506 Thanks, George! It's going really well....so well that I'm answering student questions several hours a day! (a good problem) ---L
