@synthpro How hard is it to get started with one of these? Im thinking for getting one for christmas, is it easy to pick up or am i gonna have to invest some serious time in it? Cheers.
@ParagonCookie It does take getting used to, but not bad at all once you play around with it for a few days. I may be making some more videos of it here soon and I will try to cover the harder things involved. I highly recommend one of these synths, you will enjoy it no doubt!
Overall, it will take some getting used to, but you will be happy with it I am sure if that.
Hi Jareth, I too have the Radias, I have to say that whilst I do love the Radias, despite its few downfalls, it is a good synth, even better in the hands of someone willing to take the time and learn it. I do find it annoying at times. I much prefer Analogue and have just bought the Voyager XL and Love this synth - Awesome sound. I see you have the Polymoog and the Phatty's - I don't think I need to ask which ones you prefer. Love your Channel and I have subbed to you. Great Work Jareth, keep on
@MrRidgebackman I do agree with you, there are some things about the radias I just don't like. One thing that I really don't like is the presets, I always like to build sounds from scratch and this thing already has patches built. I sometimes get upset because I will have an idea for a patch, but I have to clean out one of the factory patches. Also, no detune for Osc 1 which I don't like. Oh yeah, I have the polymoog, the phatty, and an ARP Omni MK1 which I love all of them.
so if you were to buy just the rack synth version of the radias, without the keyboard, you can hook it up to another keyboard and play it that way? itl be the same thing as buying a radias with the keyboard that it comes with?
@Mccracken987 Yes, it would function just the same as a rack unit with a MIDI controller. I used it for several months without the keyboard attached because I moved and did not have room. It worked real well with my MIDI controller.
i like the Korg Radias but price is hire 500 fot onley the racc, but i dont no of i want one, i use now the Novation SL MKII, and with the just plugins (nexus) i can make mabi beter sounds
Radias only is available as an expansion for the M3 now, but if you can find one in the inventory at your local G. Center, they're going for around $900! I just did and I'm pretty excited for it to arrive.
i'm so inspired by the radias! way out of my price range (i have a microkorg) though. i'm working towards someday owning one of these, not to mention how great the sound patches are!
not only does it sound great but it looks amazing. i totally agree about the joy of analog! maybe i'm showing my age but analog has a warmth that digital seems to lack.i hate buttons! give me slidersand knobs any day! keep up the good work.
@anton7580 I agree 100% about everything you said!!! I repair analog synths and they do have a natural phase between oscillators. I have to give Korg credit for the Radias because they did a really good job on the digital circuits.
you wonder why korg can't get their act together and realize that a synth of this price range should have very quiet keys. I know you can use a midi controller but that's yet another cord to plug in and more space taken up.
Thanks for sharing. Maybe next time you can tell some more about the knobs and buttons on it. Also intreging is the tilted position and the empty space next to it; is that practical? Can it also do something like an analog steps sequencer?
@attorks Your welcome. Oh yes, next video I will go more in detail. It is strange layout , but I look over it really. It does great analog step sequencing and you can make it control external synths as well.
Very good video. Yes, the sound Gary Numan used on Complex is just like it. WELL SPOTTED. I'd love a radious but NOT CHEAP. Still got my eye on the Juno G. Cheer from Rich
That sounds like a Workstation Synth.. ?? Amazing Organ sounds! Whats it's "Patch Edit" like? I bet it's labourious huh? Nothing like hands on Knobs! Have you ever played on an ORP Oddessey Mk II or III? All the Sliders are the same look, but it's so effective! 6:57 is amazing Phase! I have a FantomX8 & the Drums I was able to Exapnd with an SRX Board. I've noticed that it's concentrated on Bass sounds yes? I can't wait for ur Next Video! Do you wana swap E-mails & Vlog?
@therealKINDLE The patch edit is not that bad on this synth. Korg finally put some knobs on their synths for once. The nice thing about it is that hte LCD screen shows you what the knobs are controlling and exact values, but you can also edit using the LCD screen and the buttons under the screen. I have used Korgs for a long time and have always hated the interface, but the radias has a great interface.
I have not played and ARP Odyssey, but would love to.
Excellent sounds, the bass/brassy sounds @ 9:00 sound very like a pure analogue synth to my ears. I think that the bass is lost slightly from recording with the camera mik and the keyboard also sounds very mechanically noisy. I'd like to hear how deep the flanged string synth sound is.... I think that Numan must use subbass in concert. Thanks for the demo
sounds really good, you should have let us here the organ in the beginning, it is the one that let your hear how good it really sounds like.

What is the patch you are using at 08:18?
I have a radias and don't recognize it. Great video by the way. You are right, there is too much stuff to cover and the drum samples are lacking.
