  • Thanks turkey for posting these I love listing to them wile I work or just bc

  • 14 people were siting right under Galactica when it jumped away.

  • Of all the BSG music I listened to, this one has the most epic ending to it.

  • what was that song where Adama gives his speech on Galactica of how the mission was going end with the successful rescue of their people?

  • I swear, the sad part of the song where Galactica is getting shot up by those basestars 4:25 - 4:41 actually seemed a lot different in the actual episode. (and slightly better in my opinion.)

  • @starflame34 Yeah, they switched to the Cue 'Bloodshed' from the first Season for a moment.

  • dont want to call "nerd-shit" on the Galactica falling scene, but I will....the reason shit in orbit catches fire when falling planetside is because orbital objects are traveling many thousands of m.p.h. and the friction of that fast air hitting said object...boom, FIRE! Galactica jumped in at pretty much dead-stop from perspective of ground cameras, fell and jumped out from nearly same position. wouldnt have been on fire anymore than a skydiver would've.

  • @turbopokey Unless... some effect jumped "with" it. Or jumping into an atmosphere (if it did, I haven't seen most of the series, to my regret) caused the fire. Or some other effect from the physics of the jumping caused it.

  • @Gwentheferret there was nothing on fire (nothing burning). The fire you/we saw was just the hull of the Galactica super-heating as it re-entered the atmosphere/fell into the atmosphere as such a high speed. And the hull was ablaze. Same as if a Space Shuttle re-enters atmosphere.

  • @turbopokey yeh but it looked damn cool didnt it XD

  • *as the Galactica drops out of FTL, starts falling uncontrollably at terminal velocity while ON FIRE*

Hot Dog: "Well, this oughta be different..."

No shit, dude. Understatement of the century.

  • I think the Pegasus death is the best ship death of all time!

  • @starflame34, hell yeah, took out 2 and 1/2 baseships by the time it died :)

  • No doubt the best OST for any television show in the history of television!!!!!!

  • FRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKKKKKKK

  • im playing halo on my laptop and listening to this and its awesome

  • Anyone now what the build up and bagpipes(?) at 2:11 coincides with in the episode? It sounds pretty cool.

  • @alexpageau If I'm not mistaken that coincides with the exact moment when Galactica jumps into atmosphere. Now I have to rewatch it to make sure. Actually that corresponds to seconds after, but close enough.

  • @Ikanem you're right.

  • can some one join wayward soilder (BSG OST) with this song

  • This oughta be something.

  • Love this one or any that showed Adama's unorthodox strategies against the overwhelming odds. Only drawback.....they destroyed Pegasus....bastard Apollo

  • @DeathscytheRick It was either that, or they lose Galactica...

  • @RealDougal Im aware of the story's plot needs, have been from the original airing of the episode, my comment was something not needing comment by others.

  • @DeathscytheRick And I'm aware of that, it's just that you seem to be blaming Apollo for something that wasn't his fault. Forget the fact that it's all made-up just for a second: in that situation, losing Pegasus was necessary in order to save Galactica.

  • @RealDougal Understand the show was called Battlestar Galactica, that the writers wouldnt just destory the battlestar series is named after a few episodes into third season until they were done with the series. Either way the Galactica would have made it out of the battle because its the writers that make the final decision with or without Pegasus being wasted.

  • The drums starting at 3:34 are so amazing.

  • omg i love it

  • Thumbs up if you started cheering too when the Pegasus arrived and proceeded to bust open several crates of FUCK YOU in the general direction of those Basestars.

  • @kuribayashi84 Your comment has made my evening.

  • @kuribayashi84 more like "Frak you"

  • @kuribayashi84 good god i almost died of hapiness

  • @kuribayashi84 That scene and Galactica jumping into the atmosphere were the best scenes from that episode!!

  • @kuribayashi84 In the army we'd have said, several cans of kick ass, but as Colonial Fleet you shoulda said, several crates of FRACK YOU, LOL. Most awesome scene ever in combo with the music.

  • @kuribayashi84 It was the martial drums, I think.

  • @kuribayashi84 Ah, good times, good times...

  • Fraking awesome music!! Especially the end of the track with Pegasus' suicide run into the baseship

  • 7:45

Cylon Raider: "Uh...so... where do we report to now?"

  • Does anyone know where the original soundtrack for this is? Like the one exactly used in the show? It sounded different.

  • @starflame34 This is the original soundtrack, but they edit the songs to fit the scenes.

  • @Helge129 okay, is there anywhere I can found the one they used for the show specifically?

  • @starflame34 Not that I know of.

  • 7:10 Apollo thanking Pegasus for her sacrifice always gives me chills

  • The BEST part starts 3:32

  • @pakachakawaka

i prefer most powerful sounds:)5:20 the best ;-)

  • @GravArthel This is it starts around 4:38 and pegasus suicide run is at the end

  • 4:38 that was truely the start of the greatest part of the episode :D

  • the (space) battle to liberate NC was fairly 'awesome'.

  • oh god oh god no NO NOOOOOOOOO. phew, it almost ended.

  • anyone know the name of the song that starts in Exodus Part 2 when the Pegasus comes in to save the Galactica?

  • Comment removed

  • @GravArthel This song is it

  • It takes a guy named "Bear" to compose something this ear-sodomizingly awesome

  • Best part about New Caprica? I looked better than Lee Adama for a few episodes.

  • @AndyHocvs He still looks better as a fatty.

  • @AndyHocvs Is it bad that I still thought lee was hot stuff

  • @ohlookitsthatguy123 Lee is ALWAYS hot stuff... Sorry. He's just so hot.

  • @AndyHocvs Oh my god, i just shit myself in laughter. Thank you for making my day sir.

  • @AndyHocvs

Best part of New Caprica...I looked LIKE Lee Adam for a couple of episodes. :)

  • @AndyHocvs Yeah, LOL! Least I look somewhat fat naturally! Pfffffft.

  • @AndyHocvs Was that fat or fat suit?

  • @efetherman, fatsuit

  • @efetherman Neither, McDonalds.

  • I listen to BSG music while doing random chores around the house, and this one can make even cooking eggs epic :)

  • @k1n5n I do that too!

  • 2:15 Battlestar Galactica FTL jumps into the athmosphere of New Caprica and starts a heavy descent towards the surface. Admiral Adama gives the order to launch Vipers. Then just before hitting the surface, Galactica jumps back to the planets orbit.

  • that was honestly one of the most epic things i have EVER saw. fucking awesome!

  • @SternMann93

Zat is what zey call ze adama Manoeuvre.

  • I seriously never get tired of this track.

  • Bagpipes plus heavy taiko drums...I came buckets.

  • Why dont you all just google it? You wont miss the site then.

Its a browser based game, no download neede.

  • You download the game. You play in the browser.

  • I swear BSG is the best Tv series to ever pull off using some of the most random of instruments EVER!!!! but you know I never complained i just jizzed in my pants and kept watching lol

  • Beyond Epic

  • Braveheart... in space!

  • it's amazing how little i heard this music when watching the series; i guess more than hearing it i experienced it, caught up in the theater of it all.

  • Damn you, Lee.

  • I loved the bit where galactica warped into the skies of new caprica, brought the vipers out, and then ftl-ed out back into space!!!

this is the definition of EPICNESS, with the bagpipes playing...man, just one of th emost epic scenes out there

  • @metharan I complettly agree, the "Adama Maneuver" as its now called was probably the most riskiest, most dangerous and on top of that most AWSOME Action any Sci-Fi Ship Camptain and/or Ship has performed in the entire history of the genre!

  • @metharan It's one of the few scenes in anything to ever give me the goosebumbs. Just an entirely badass Sci-Fi series.

  • AWESOME Soundtrack

  • Is it just me or are bagpipes fucking awesome?

  • @andrewb261 It ain't just you... The bagpipes are *that* frakkin' awesome!

  • Has any marching band used BSG for their program? It's perfectly suited for marching.

  • @thomasbce especially the drum part

  • I must say that I prefer the tv version of hte 2:15 to 2:30 portion. Unless, is there a variant of this portion in the other season OSTs?

  • Bring my spaceship I'm getting ready for war!!!!

  • HUSKER HAIL MARY!!!

  • 3:44 - well, I can't really put it into words. Bear McCreary has an awesome soundtrack to go with his awesome name.

  • Well, in comment to all the peoples fighting about spoilers: I jumped up and down, pissed my pants, and the Pegesus a big frackin horse. Get over it. Best ep any scifi ever.

  • Yeah, the Pegesus a big horse.

  • Anyone agree that the New Caprica occupation was one of the greatest story arcs in the history of science fiction?

  • @MrEvil37 The best story arc ever is the president's count of humans still alive, NC second.

  • @efetherman I wouldn't really call that a story arc, but fair enough.

  • The bagpipes kicking in at 7:17 give me goosebumps every time.

  • the attention to detail impressed me, I liked that when the ship was descending down into the atmosphere, and then jumped away back into space, bits of molten metal rained down on the heads of the people below. Never did understand what was supposed to be different between the humanoid cylons and the humans though, they seemed virtually the same.

  • @stopthesoftkill Not to mention Bear's music timing.

  • Haven't seen this episode in years and still getting goosebumps remembering the battle

  • 12 cylon models didn't like this song =)

  • @TheLordPlague

Who cares who liked it and who didn't... seriously

  • @hellnawnaw So why you reading the posts, bitch?

  • @hellnawnaw

    Obviously, 79 people

  • @TheLordPlague I heard 4, or 5!

  • Anyone else think Youtube is paying ppl or threating their account to put dislikes on all videos that are just to awesome to even have a dislike button?

  • frak

  • The master of drum's and battle music Bear McCreary is.

  • @donniedarko66699 Old School.

  • @efetherman Exactly.

  • "Where is the GALACTICA?!?!"

  • @PowerOfWilliam Parts may be on the moon - but most is - in the sun.

  • Action with consequences is riveting, action without consequences is dull. Thanks and congratulations to the makers of BSG for always crafting action on a backdrop of extreme consequence, such that the tension lifts the audience out of their comfortable living rooms and drops them into desperate battlefields lightyears away, and we end up watching with great anticipation, as if our very lives depended on it.

  • I have like 1 million lady boners for Battlestar Galactica

  • i play this to battlestar galactica onlne! and it fits perfectly! like its qued to my actions. really scared the frak out of me when i realized it.

  • @ThePoe537

I love that game! Best browser-based game I've played yet.

  • @veritas89g i just signed up but its the funnest thing ever and i pwn at it!

  • @ThePoe537 You don't really have to play this to BGO, it actually *uses* this track quite a bit, especially during big battles. It's cut into different sections, but the drum/percussion bits get used all the time along with "Prelude to War" (The Pegasus Standoff Theme), "Black Market" and "Something Dark Is Coming" (Which is used a lot during quiet spaceflight). The game has very good music choices, you don't really need to help it that much. :P

  • Holy Frak... the percussion is AMAZING! =D

  • xaxaxaxaxa

  • the 12 cylon models dislike this video

  • @icyclaw123 :D :D

  • @icyclaw123

    Daniel joins them

  • @icyclaw123 And so did the 13th apparently... I thought Cavil had him destroyed O_o

  • @icyclaw123 ??? What video ???

  • @icyclaw123 +2 Centurions.

  • This song has an awsome beat to it, i can't stop repeating it

  • i just like this thumpy music, it makes me want to whup someone.

  • The storming of New Caprica might have been the best scene in the entire 3rd series. Seeing the Galactica outnumbered and hopeless, I cried out in joy as I saw the Pegasus coming in and wooping ass! Still gives me chills to this day! ;)

  • @S1l3ntV1p3r best part was when the battlestar's dropping like a rock with vipers launching off it then FTL's out of there at the last second... epic.

  • 1:43 = Pure Adrenaline

  • At 6:56 I can still see Lee saying "Thank you" as he says goodbye to the Pegasus on the burning bridge.

  • @sonofcy mmmmm,truley touching moment.

that and leaving Babylon 5 to its destruction are in a draw, the music just brings out the emotional intensity of the scene, and the show.with out the music.its just another lost ship

  • @Stepchild06 I love both series, although I think Babylon 5 - on balance was a better series - better planned /written than BSG but without a doubt Exodus 1 & 2 were where Mr. Moore clearly hit it out of the park. Bear Mc Creary is frighteningly talented - I'm kinda convinced that decades from now, people will play this song and others from the series in the same way lovers of Mozart play 'Sul Aria' without necessarily having a clue about the rest of the opera it came from.

  • nice music! favorite1!

  • Questa è un opera d'arte! I tamburi riescono a trasmettere il messaggio di pericolo e di allarme, e ci riescono benissimo!

  • The sad fact about most of these soundtracks is they lose half of their impact when out of context, I remember listening to this while the episode was playing and thinking it was stunning. Now... not so much. Still just encourages me to watch the series itself.

  • Are those pipes behind the Japanese drums?

  • @CrichtonNo5 Yes that's right they're Ulleann - Irish - pipes, they don't have the drones that Scots pipes have.

  • @sonofcy The great pipes, of course, being meant for battle, and not to sound nice. They even had to use irs pipes in Braveheart because their not as melodic. :D

  • I think that you realy nead to be a fan to realy apreaciate the music of BSG

  • @AVNCIALHPI That doesn't make any sense. That's like saying you need to like deaf people to listen to Mozart. A great soundtrack can be appreciated by anyone. For example, I bought 'The Fountain' because I accidently discovered the soundtrack (which is great, btw). Suffice to say, the movie is horrible. Really though, you don't have to love everything music is about to enjoy it.

  • @crazy88boss What I ment was if you take a bsg fan an a non-bsg fan normaly the bsg fan would be the only one who likes it. Not all ways the case but that normaly happens. All my friends are not bsg fans and I watch some of these clips such as Prelude to War and they hate it. Same happens with Star Trek and Babylon 5. If you get me to watch a sport (which personly I don't like) I would do the same with their theme tune. No offence Sporty fans

  • @AVNCIALHPI Yeah I got that part. I guess non-fans don't have that nostalgic feeling that a song creates. When you hear this song you instantly remember Galactica jumping into NC's atmosphere and the glorious rescue that followed. To everybody else it's just a song that's too heavy on the drums. BTW, I meant to say Beethoven, not Mozart (before anyone corrects me). :-)

  • @crazy88boss But Ive never seen a single BSG episode and im talking about it all of the time. Im in the UK and I did know about it but didnt think much of it but now, when they're not showing them any more the only thing I have to watch the do with BSG is YouTube.

  • @AVNCIALHPI That's... rather surprising, how you could love a series based on some clips and its music. Why don't you just watch the episodes online? They have all of BSG and B5 so why haven't you seen them? Although, the BSG you have to pay for, unfortunately. Your dedication is pretty impressive though.

  • @crazy88boss Thanks. I tried to start from miniseries but they didn't have it on. I might as well buy the DVDs from Amazon or ebay.

  • @AVNCIALHPI The season 1 dvd set includes the miniseries

  • @rollthehard6 Thanks for that

  • I disagree; I have a friend who is not a fan of the show, who bought the soundtracks on my recommendation. Her favorite composer is now Bear McCreary

  • @SuperSaiyanAl Fair enough. I suppose music can be enjoyed by anyone taking the time to listen.

  • Godsdamnit, this music is just so fracking good! The way it twists and turns and builds and fades and then comes back at you from another level of sheer superbness.... why the hell can't more music on TV be this good???

  • 11 people must have listened this just for five or six seconds

  • 11 people stayed on Pegasus...

  • One of the funniest moments ever... "Well, this should be different"

  • definitely one of if not the best episode in BSG (well it's really two episodes). So awesome seeing the Galactica drop through the atmosphere basically on fire from the atmosphere launching vipers hahaha and I love what hotdog says at that point.

  • @IcyScythe In a way I'll agree and another I'll disagree, - this episode and parts of this series elevated the show I think it was one of the best pieces of narrative put to television in many years.

  • This is what EPIC sounds like.

  • @SwedishBeatballs mostly 4/4. there is the occasional 3/4 and 2/4 thrown in. the section starting at 3:34 is hard to count due to the phrasing, but was probably still written in 4/4. the section at 4:48 is 3/4.

  • 11 people dident escape new caprica

  • What Time signature is this song in?

  • Well, this oughta be different.

  • Comment removed

  • The ending of this is AMAZING!!!

  • 11 skinjobs died after hearing this

  • @ancalites

One more would have completed all the models hehe.

  • @Coraxuss Actually there are 13 models

  • @rollthehard6

13 models? Are you referring to that one particular Cylon model named Daniel?

  • @Coraxuss Yes

  • @Coraxuss No Daniel, was included in the 12 models.. But he never makes an appearance.. There's 6 'regular' cylons (Cavil, Doral, Leoben, Caprica, Sharon, Simon and then the Final Five..)

  • @laurensmalter

You forgot D'Anna Biers, the 3rd Cylon model 'regulars'. Daniels ended up being a numbering mistakes on the producers' part I believe but was made as a catalyst to launching the events of the main BSG series. Cavil became a jealous son cause of Ellen Tigh's affection for Daniel. As a result, Cavil contaminated Daniel's model line, killed the Final Five, and launched a genocidal campaign to exterminate all of mankind for good.

  • @rollthehard6 14 if you count hera

  • @CatsRuleDogsAreTards

    Hera counts for three?

  • @CatsRuleDogsAreTards Hera is half human half cylon. Doesnt count my friend :)

  • Best part of this track is 4:46. The music dies down, then suddenly
