i found the easiest way to give my basset a bath is to take her in the shower with me and try to not scare her with the showerhead; she's stays pretty calm
My basset also rubs on every bit of furniture I own! If bedroom doors are open she will dry off on the beds also! OMG yes if doors are open she will go back out and find dirt (we have reddish clay kind) and roll roll roll!
my basset hounds are always hyper after a bath too, except mine are usualy running around the house running into things and getting all dirty again (they know how to open doors)
Yep. I have to keep the back door closed and not let them out till they are completely dry. Saffron will run and roll in the dirt the second she gets out of the shower if she could (and she has too).
I could tell frm all of your video that you are a extremely caring and loving..oh, and also very devoted dad to your babies...keep up the good work !!!
Actually, I think dachshunds (I have four of them!) and bassets do that because their legs are too short to use to groom their faces. The only thing that would make it complete is Saffron rolling around in a dead skunk carcass!
I have to keep them locked in the house until they are completely dry, otherwise she will roll around in the dirt... and then it's back in the shower.
LOL hes like forget it you cant make me!

mine used to do the same, it took me ages to bathe him (in nice warm water) and then he'd still try to get dirty
