  • try buying yourself a three dimension filter chemical mechanical and biological the biological part of the filter its the most important part of the filter cause it preserves bacteria for example the aqua-clear filter would be your best choice. i have one myself and a canister fluval filter they both work fine.i had cloudy water problem myself.

  • lights only make water cloudy, when the water is a GREEN cloudy, and that is only because of algae growing in the water from too much sunlight. Turn your lights off at night, and on during the day, like the SUN

  • you do 1/4 change once a month unless something disasterous happens, been doing this for 25 years, thanks

  • 50%is to mutch it is recomendet to do 1/3 once a week so the good bacteria dont get filterd out and the ph falues dont change to mutch also DONT use cemicals it can kill the good bacteria

  • put some filter floss in your filter, that may help.

  • Hey Its Your Gravel The Paint or what ever you call it (Chemical) Is Being Released into The Water If You Dont Believe Me Take Out Some Put in It Clean Water and Stir it Up You See The Water Color Change (Try Getting New Gravel) This Happened to Me

  • i have 1000 gallon tank i am selling it for $198.99

  • @ivan768554

Do you still have the tank for sale??

    Thanks!

  • same problem. Try letting yiour water alone and try putting a plate above wear your pouring c lean water that way it doesnt disturb the water or sand. or you didn't wash your gravel before oyu put it in.

  • Uv sterilizer is all u need 100% works trust me

  • I have a 55 gallon and mine looks the same I have tried everything it still is cloudy cab some help

  • I had that problem cause I left my lights on too long. I put it on a timer and now its crystal clear. I have a 46 gal bow front with a 350 magnum canister.

  • @alkeeholick why does the light make the water cloudy?

  • You should get a uv sterilizer to clear up your water. I recommend SUNSUN UV Clarifier 9W Filtration pump $36 from eBay. Keeps water crystal clear and kills bad bacteria, viruses, ect.

  • just get sum water clarifier and use that whenever it is like that again

  • overfeeding !

  • @joestar112890 No, it was actually a bacteria boom because the tank is relatively new when I filmed this.

  • @St33lCrush3r cool how many gallon's is your tank man?

  • @joestar112890 around 50

  • how long did it take for the water to clear up?

  • @thefishguy225 Took around a month and a half :)

P.S. This is my new Youtube account lol.

  • @St33lCrush3r this is exacly what my tank looks like and its about that size if this is the same problem as mine i hope it wont last too long.

also did you try any chemicals because i tried a clearafier and it didnt do anything

  • @kanito107 no, i didn't add any chemicals, since chemicals aren't good for your fish. I did regular 25% water changes and I bought a API Freshwater Master Test Kit to keep track of the ammonia, nitrate and nitrite levels.

  • i do this when my fish tank is dirty/cloudy. get a bucket fill it with water get a net put my fish in the bucket clean the tank gravel and all. fill the tank with water wait for the water to become same temparature. check if any of my fish jumped out(i just keep some1 to watch to call me if the fish jumped) put the fish in the tank rest and watch my fishies in the the clean tank. enjoy myself. tell me if it helped
  • ooo dont do 50% water changes tat often!

do thos like every 5 months or when you really need to start over.

    do like 25%-35% waterchanges

  • what filter are you using?? i use a Aqua one 101 Maxi power head and as soon as you overload it it gets cloudy, probs due to that its a new tank and its having the bacterial bloom. The best filters are the in-built aqua one filters that use ceramic noodles.

  • my tank was cloudy because my girlfriend wouldn't stop feeding our Oscars.. It was really bad but I changed the water and only feed them once a day now .... my tank is 150gallons and I have 3 Oscars and 2 Algae eater... it took a couple of weeks but the water is clear again... DON'T over feed your fish!!! and check out my tank :)

  • oh, i havent been on this acct since mad long lol.

Update- the fish tank was going through a bacteria bloom. now the tank is crystal clear.

  • get some fresh water clams.

  • need a better filter and bactirea is bloming

  • Bacterial bloom can occur when the tank is new. It occurs when the tank is new because there is an imbalance in the level of nutrients in the water to the levels of bacteria. This may be because there are too many fish in the tank. As you go through starting up a new aquarium the level of nutrients to bacteria will stabilize and the cloudiness should dissipate.

  • my new fish tank is also cloudy i can see the back but not clearly so what do i need to do ??? fish tank 1

    days standing now

  • What I use is called crystalclear! Small bottle, one drop per gallon usually works in a day or 2 and does exactely what it says...gets the water "crystal clear"

  • ok, i stopped feeding so much, and i renewed the sponge on my canister filter

  • I'm very sure there're only 3 reasons that your tank's cloudy. Since you have many fish, you might over feed them. Check your filter system and cartridge, and the main reason I think is your light. Make a big water change and leave the lights off, it'll be hard to believe the water gets cloudy again.

  • @Mintznguyen if the tank is new it might be going through the bacterial bloom stage (probably casued by adding to much new fish at 1 time) 3 oscars hav alot of waste so it probably is the bacterial bloom

  • You must buy Aquasafe or Biotopol it very helps.
