tried installing version 3 to record wav, pressed record, forces you to webpage to install latest version. which doesnt record wav

Your voice sounds crystal-clear. What microphone did you use for recording? I guess you connected it to your PC sound card mic jack

@jalsina1 I was just using my logitech mic that I plug into the mic jack. It's pretty basic. Glad my voice is clear :)

@Arayvenn Wow that's weird - have you played with the settings - it seems everyone has the exact opposite issue that you do. Just play with your audio capture settings - I am sure you can get it to work.

Try uninstalling/installing again. Also tweak the settings. I always test my audio settings by playing the radio.  If it can capture the radio stream that plays from the included radio then you know that it's set up okay. I hope that helps.

Hi - If you want to record your voice you will need Freecorder 3 - you can find the link to the download on the Applian Website/support/product technical support/freecorder - look on the right hand side of the page for the links to the earlier versions. I hope that helps.

Wow - not sure why you are having that issue. I bet the Applian Tech support folks can help. I have had no issues with the toolbar and vista - at all. Let them help you :)

Hello streamripper7...I am having issues with the recorder. It shows a blue wave when I hit record; however, the blue line flashes in the same consistent pattern and when I play it back with Window Media Player, it always sounds like a machine gun. Horrible sound. No matter how many times I change the audio recording configurations. It either won't record at all, or keeps making ridiculous noises. I even uninstalled it and re-installed. Any suggestions on how to repair the Freecorder?

Hey - Best thing to do would be to contact Applian tech support. They will need to figure out what is up. You can find the link on the applian website. They are good.

Just tweek the settings - you'll see there are three different settings for capturing audio - one will work with your mic. Just play around with it.

You can disable the mic if you want - it won't impact your MP3 recording. And no you don't need to download the MP3 before playing.

Are you asking how to record the sound coming out of your speakers?  If so then go to settings and click on "record from Freecorder Audio Driver" - that will capture any sound you hear.

It can record anything from your sound card.

For YouTube I recommend to use Replay Media Catcher. It can record YouTube videos for free and extract MP3 files from them.

I have freecorder installed on my computer but when I click play they said that there is another program that is using it. I don't know what to do. I have internet explorer and firefox. Should I go to control panel and remove one of the program or remove the program from one web browser or delete my coexisting file I recorded.

Freecorder can record audio only. You may use Replay Video Capture to record video from screen. Its sound recording is similar to Freecorder, i.e. works even with some sound cards that do not support sound recording at all.

Please try to reduce the volume. If it doesn't help, you might need a better sound card to get better quality.
