There are about 4000 native Americans representing 3 tribes on the nearby Warm Springs Confederated Tribes reservation. Jacoby's mother taught there.

I grew up in Madras, born and raised. I graduated in 92 before Jacoby. but I can tell you most of the Native Americans live on warmsprings indian reservation. The attend public school off the "res" from sixth grade up. so there a lot of Indians but most live about 20 miles away.
