THe $5 analogy is also invalid because a marriage is a private and personal commitment between two people where as a $5 note is an aid for trading i.e. it is a public tool. He is right in saying that fake $5s wil cause inflation because there is a shift in supply. Marriage's value is not affected by an increase in the supply of marriages because it holds no monetary value and has no physical limit.
