God, I'm watching these eye surgery stuff and i GET SCARED. What if sth bad will happen to my eyes and I'll have to do this too... i spend a lot of time in front of the computer and my eyes hurt so badly and i'm always afraid i might lose sight... and I already have some problems with my sight because I have to wear glasses, but nonetheless my eyes constantly hurt...

My mom just had this done yesterday, she can had horrible vision before and now she has 20/20 vision on her one eye. Shes getting her other one done in a couple of weeks :) She was awake during it but she said they numbed it before and they had her look into a light the whole time so all she could see was the light, she couldnt actually see the tools they used and stuff.

@isabellaXXrawr I doubt it. Most of the time you are asleep, but some just choose to be sedated. I dont think they want you to have control of our eye. Think about it, if someone is cutting into your eye, you would most likely twitch violently and cause massive damage. I got hit in the eye with an airsoft BB. I have to have this done tomorrow because of it, and i also have to get my iris stitched up. Im kindof nervous. Guess thats normal though cuz im only 17.

@S0D41 Yes, you see what cataract surgery does is that the surgery is removing your old lens with a new lens. There desiese in eye that can happen in mostly in old people but is can be some adults too. It's call lincoma which it is a desiese that can acctake the lens in the eye. If left untreated the person may become blind in that eye it (sometimes acctake both eyes) but if you have cataract surgery you'll won't be at risk of being blind.

@Loyalsurly no you are awake, but it doesn't hurt (they give you something to idk numb it) it removes cataracts which sort of fog vision, they are a build up of proteins
