Lightweight isn't a good thing when it comes to guitars - if it's heavy that means the wood is more dense and you'll get slightly longer sustain and a better tone

Metallica is about a mixture bass (not just the instrument, but the band on the EQ as well) and treble sounding which is wut makes them THE best band ever!
