  • That is a beautiful piece of machinery. Thank you for the review, and ride safe.

  • this is what happens, when ze germans built a sportbike...

  • hey does this mean you cannot wheelie with the traction control?

  • @2010sudrai Correct, except in slick mode which allows up to 5 seconds I believe. If you want to though it's only a press of a button to turn traction control off and wheelie to your hearts content.

  • @Avboden thanks, finally someone on youtube who knows a thing or two and is polite enough to teach someone without calling them stupid or something. cheers

  • this bike totally raises the bar. BMW nailed it and made it affordable. these will be hard to find once everyone figures out how what an incredible machine it is.

its so dynamic and has more hp then any of the other liter bikes. best of both worlds with the best brakes in the whole class to. this bike is a no-brainer.

  • great video. very informative. I wish u would do the entire bike.

  • THANK YOU so much for this proper review of the bike....im skeptical of buying it...even BMW reps keep on pressing on simple stuff like the body and flickers and rear lights...im like wt f....so thanks for the settings and clutch. much appreciated.

  • Fuck!!!!!!!!!!!! why am i not rich :(

  • is that shift assist system standard on every bmw s1000 makes?

    thank you , great vid!^^

  • @BMWlSl1000RR No it's not standard. The bike's base price is $13,800. The quick shifter is an extra $450 but it is WELL worth it!

  • @Avboden i dont really get the shift assist. how does it works? you dont have to pull the clutch when trying to change gear or somethin?

  • @enjutbaby It means you don't have to pull the clutch when up shifting (you still have to down). What it does is cut the engine for a very, very short amount of time right as you shift, this puts enough slack in the drive line to allow the transmission to almost seamlessly shift without using the clutch. You can google "power shifting" to see how people do it without a quick shifter. Normally you can do this just by blipping off the gas really quick.

  • this bikes got 16000 rpm

  • @ali1278

    14200 RPM*

  • I drive one and it's THE most impressive bike I've ever driven. Much better than the r1 dumbass

  • wooooooooooooooow q super

  • Nice revving up, this bike is made for wheelies :D

  • you need clutch for down shifts right?

  • @MrR6Raven Yes

  • sometimes =)

  • did you ever see the r1 2010 rev speed !dumbass

  • should i get the bmw 1000rr my first bike ?

  • @jdmk20guy HELL YEA!!! YOU BETTER BABY THE HELL OUT OF IT> DONT BE COOL AT ALL!!!!

  • @jdmk20guy do that if you wanna die :D

  • im a hands on throttle jocky , lets get back to basics

  • nice Bike

  • Hi Avboden

I'm riding S1000rr too. Dont know how or why i idid this but on the track recently, coming out of a turn i gave it a full handfull of gas and the front wheel reared up...it stayed up for what seemed ages and i quickshifted to 3rd without it dropping an inch. Then backed off the gas and safely down. Thats how good quickshift is !! Seamless and perfect !!!!

  • it has more horse power, but it has more weight then stock ninja,cbr,gixxer,r1

  • Nice to see from a seasoned rider what my bike can actually do! A few more weekends at my local Losail Qatar International race circuit and I'll have a knee on the floor. Great video, thanks.

  • 3:00 to skip to the only part of this video that matters.

  • 493 bhp is that what i hurd ?

  • @181jose he said it bu the bike actualy has around 200 bhp

  • The only problem with the BMW is that it is very uncomfortable.riding with an erection.

This bike is pure sex! My R1200S better behave itself or else.

  • SWEET JESUS, what a Bike, I wonder what it would be like with some upright bars on it, either way this bike is amazing, I want one.

  • nice presentation.

  • Can you use the clutch if you want too?

  • @guitaristwagner No, its just there for looks.

  • sick bike!

  • It's a really great performing bike, but why is it so ugly........... not hayabusa ugly though.

  • Can you turn that traction control and everything off?? i love the bike but i would want it off for the Occasional Burn outs and cat walks!... :)

  • @BigC954 yes you can..there are differnent modes and in the slick-mode there is no traction- and wheelie control

  • @BigC954 yes

  • 193 hp, more that ninja 1000 gsxr 1000 r1 1000 and cbr 1000!!!!!!

  • @rcbuggyracingya when they tested the bike they got a result of 206hp at 13200 rpm........a motorbike magazine did that test

  • Hey that was a pretty cool video! thanks

  • Finally a video on the bike that does more then just have some random guy talking about how it feels with him riding it and we finally get to see the gauges and technical parts of the bike. THANK YOU!

  • Wich one will be the best german bike: HP2 sport or S1000RR? just can't choose and want to buy both of them :D

  • @jobro666 The HP2 is a Sport Turing bike but the S1000RR is a REAL race orientated Superbike designed to race against the Japanese Big 4 and the Italian superbikes in WSBK.

  • @hikaruchan1 and it will kick the big 4s and the italian one´s ass

  • @Moggemorle The 2011 Kawasaki ZX10R just got launched the other day with the road Version launched next month and it looks like new Kawasaki ZX10R will have BMW number dude.

  • can this bike beat the the Camaro?

  • @Kelspeed1972 - which one?? it probably can

  • @Kelspeed1972

    obviusly...

  • that bike looks huge, what is the seat height?

  • im ordering mine next week to be delivered for middle to the end of june but i have one question can the anti wheelie be turned off completley..??? as when i rode the demo bike in sport mode and the anti wheelie is to intrusive...cheers

  • the lexus LFA says it needs a digital tachometer because an analog display can't keep up. The LFA redlines at 10krpm, and I bet it gets there when this bike gets to 15!

  • how many seconds 0 - 60 mph acceleration ?

  • He says full 193 BHP'S and it always sound like 493!!!

  • wish i had the money cause this sucker would be in my garage right now

  • Great job on BMW's part. I think I'm going to buy this instead of an R1.

  • Cool informative video, thanks. I love this bke!

  • did you say 493 horsepower??... right..

    amazing bike tho

  • sort out the video, not clear

  • Nice video, I'm getting one!

  • wow

  • Stil doesn't explain the colours of your leathers.

  • There are some manufacturers that have something called a "Shift Assistance" which allows you to shift without the use of the of the clutch lever. The clutch still disengages but it's done with a Hall-effects sensor/switch. Most companies the bike has to be past a certain RPM's. But BMW's shift assist you can do it at ANY rpm and ANY speed. Very cool stiff

  • can any1 explain wat did he meen with 'U NEVER TOUCH THE CLUTCH AND U JUST GO THROUGH THE GEARS" ??

    any1 explain

    thx

  • On most bikes you can change gears without using the clutch.

    On mine you can.

Ive been on 1/4 mile drags using no and with. clutch.... not much difference... prob 0.2.

Not sure how good for your bike it is thou

  • it stops the ignition for a split second taking the load off the gearbox allowing you to just hit the gear lever and you can go up through the gears, not down though

  • you dont have to use the clutch when changing gears

  • strait up all out performance

  • k1200s k1300s r1200s the best this s100rr is a normal japan motorcycle (cbr,r1,gsxr,ninja etc

  • very good video, well explained

Now i just need to win the lottery or wait until i have the money together to get it but im going to have to take it for a test ride a few times lol. dont let the dealer know i cant afford it just yet lol

  • fuckin sick

  • superbe moto et combinaison aussi grav belle

  • 3:11 thats the final reason for me to choose the S1000RR against the Duc 1098S. shoot!

  • I wasn't convinced when I saw it stand still recently... I am now.... unreal.

  • 202bhp on the crank 185 at the wheel..

  • 200 BHP from the factory good god

  • 193 to be exact. i think this bike is good enough to go up against the japs big 4.

  • also preis leistung stimmt hier ja mal garnicht!

  • this is my next bike

  • Agreed. This bike is sexy, has gobs of horsepower, and has a very low center of gravity. The shift assist, traction setting, and raw power of it.... Dear God... Time to start saving $16k for all the bells and whistles, xD.

  • Dude I so want this bike, I can see it in my garage already. Just wish I had the money right now.

  • halts maul und fahr jetzt :D

  • This has to be the best looking bike ive seen...i know people hate the front but to me its unique I know I want one

  • ot is the first attempt for europe and is one step forward of japanese.the japanese should sit down and seriously upgrade their bikes in all terms.noone says that 160 typical bhps ine the wheel is enought to stop.the ll lose their sales

  • Your sorely mistaken if you think Europe is behind the Japanese on Bike technology. And car technology as well. Europe was making motorcycles when Japan was making Fighter aircraft in WW2. Look at the Ducati Desmosedici. Or the Aprilia RSV4 Factory. MV Agusta F4 .............. Europe has always been one step ahead Of japan. And always will be. In Motorcycles and Cars.

  • iilke what u said that's true : ) but MV, Ducati and BMW cost alot in my country. Aprillia is en normal price. so european sport bikes in my country are for rich peoples usual (i'm talking about new bikes not about used one's) But we're still a step ahead asia : D

  • drive nuts

  • Gary is a pretty decent racer and has more experience than you have I'm sure. I saw him ride and yes, he can get his knee down, and yes, he shifted mid turn with his knee down. The quick shifter really is that smooth

  • hah and you can?

  • He speaks of Ram-air like BMW invented that for bikes. Kawa have been running that kind of airintake for more then 20 years now.

  • superbe moto je la veux

  • i really love this song

  • What's funny is how few Germans actually buy sport bikes. 90%+ of German bikes are enduro, tourers or WW2 boxers. So that means almost all the sales of this bike will be in UK and US. Poor Frenchies will have to have this bike restricted to 100bhp. Ha ha that's 50% down on the true power potential. Poor little frogs. :-) And thank you Deutschland for giving the rest of us a great bike.

  • no its not. from what ive found( this means all you haters who just hate on youtube, i admit i could be wrong) its 200hp at the crank but still at the wheel it puts out close to 190

  • Personally i don`t like the idea of putting electronic devices into a superbike. If i want comfort, i`ll drive my car, but i when riding my bike i want to drive that bike myself, not telling the bike how to drive itself, that`s why i like the japanese bikes.

The BMW surely is a hell of a great bike, but just not for me, especially with that front.

  • i think that the traction control comes extra

  • When I first saw the BMW and its front I had the same opinion like you have... but after a while I really like the front.

I think this front makes the BMW special and everyone can see that it isn't just another japanese (although i also like japanese bikes - dont get me wrong).

And traction control... I think everyone has another opinion about that.

Those who have already had some highsiders will really like that feature.

  • @KingMario91 I can't agree more

  • holy fuk, yamaha, suzuki, honda, kawasaki, ducati, move out of the way, here comes the king of sport bikesss.

  • May i remind you. Of the greatest Sport Bike of all time.

    Ducati Desmosedici.

200 HP At the Wheel. 125 ft-lb Of Torque 200MPH+ Top speed stock.

  • @mistabiggz16 yes its $72k good. no way in hell i would pay 72k for a bike esp if something like the s1000 is just as good for around $15k. dont get me wrong the desmosedici is an amazing looking fucking bike and the best ducati at that but it cost way to much.

  • Comment removed

  • hey....ther is a dragstrip.....i want to see some et´s :)

  • so what is this priced at compared to the other liter bikes?

  • 13,700 I'm told. but i really think its going to be 16k.

  • @freebird123456

    $13800

  • Nice BIKE from BMW..

    I like it...

But i dont like the headlight....

  • this is my next bike hands down

  • ''THE ULTIMATE RIDING MACHINE"""""

  • finaly bmw made a real sport bike.

  • wie peinlich ey.. ein "neues" deutsches motorrad in den händen von nem engländer oder wat weis ich was... und in deutschland bekommt man selber nichts davon zu sehen

  • sag ich auch!!!!

  • I saw that exact bike a Marin BMW, it was pretty sweet. I kinda want to sell my f800s and get one.

  • You kinda want to?

I kinda want to trade my eternal soul in on one of these. My F800S is going to be sitting on the showroom floor of Grass Roots BMW before too long. It's getting traded for this bike.

  • im sorry, i have another question. what is that white light for?

  • It's a programmable shift light

  • Programmable shift light.

  • how much does it cost in USA? $_ _,_ _ _._ _

  • Base MSRP is $13,800

    Race ABS (excluding DTC): $1,000.00

Race ABS and Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) Combined: $1,480.00

    Gear Shift Assistant: $450.00

    Anti Theft Alarm: $395.00

    Motorsports Paint Scheme: $750.00

You'd be stupid to order it without the ABS and DTC.

Fully tricked out, out the door price (not including the motorsports color) will run you almost exactly $17,000 in Washington state. That's after tax, after everything

  • what is and what does the abs and dtc do?

  • I don't know if you should buy a vehicle of any kind if you don't know what the options are, you should ask a dealer for 100% correct answere. This is so far I know, ABS is Anti-lock Braking System, if you brake REALLY hard the wheels won't lock up and won't make you fall down. The wheels will keep rolling a little to prefent falling and brakes faster. DTC is computer controlled I think, it makes you have more grip on the road, like when you slide computer will help getting grip. I think.

  • Yeah, DTC will monitor traction and it will make adjustments to your engine output to compensate for a traction loss. It's a nice feature in a bike that can rev to 12000RPM in a split second. If you happen to get too big a handful of throttle mid-lean on the way out of a turn , causing the rear tire to spin, the engine output will be dropped instantly to allow the tire a chance to lock onto the tarmac, hopefully preventing a low-side.

  • i love the sound of it. whats the top speed in mph and in each gear please?

  • Not sure about each gear but full top speed of the bike stock is upper 180's to around 190. This one at the track was trapping around 185 but it was super hot out and at a few thousand feet.

  • Most superbikes top out at 186 from the factory. It's a self-imposed limit that most manufacturers follow. The reason is that you simply have to stop somewhere. Technology is to the point where you can easily get over 200mph out of any hypersport or supersport bike. A self-imposed limit allows manufacturers to focus their attention on engineering a safe bike instead of a rocket-propelled deathmobile. Superbikes have to be production machines. Therefore, this limit is in place on this bike.

  • Can't tell you speeds for every gear, but 1st is up to 87 mph (140 km/h). As long as the gearbox is the same in the US and Germany.

  • woot woot

  • Yeeeees! Thanks for the upload!
