Soo much fun modding these pedals - for my rev E (1990) True bypass, Gain 330 ohm (internal trim pot - useful for tuning to different amps), Mid/Q 2.0k, Vocal/Q 100k trim pot (external) But the most notable mod was to add a rotary switch for the sweep caps .01, .015, .022, .033 and .04. Suprisingly, the stock inductor on these rev E pedals is really good so i'm keeping that.
Nice video and refreshing to see someone do it with a pair of boots as opposed to socks/bare feet. I modded a crybaby with great success but sold it to fund an original Thomas Organ Crybaby and, although it hasn't arrived yet, i'm not sure i wanna modify it.
Nice mod. I recently modded mine as well and I just socketed the resistor in line with the inductor, the 'midrange' resistor, and the 'sweep' cap and played around with values to voice it for me. Respectively, I fell in love with 68k, 2.2k, and 0.047uF. Sounds AMAZING now, with no harshness, ultra creamy, and deep, throaty UU-WAH sound that I've been searching for for years. To anyone considering modding theirs.. do your homework and go for it. You'll love it.

graemey, I've watched your videos for a long time now and I have to say this mod is one of the best. Been trying to figure out how to mod my Cry Baby Original and you've given me some great ideas as far as changing the inductor and swapping other parts. Nice one, mate. Thanks for the video! Cheers!!! :)
Whoa! that sounds like the real deal, no need to chase down a old crybaby anymore, its sounds great, nice sweep and the variation with the vocal mod makes for a versitle pedal... i think it sounds way better than a stock GCB-95
I think the modded pedal sounds better. seems to have a better sweep.i have both stock and one i play with is modded for true bypass and caps and all that.thanks for the video.
pretty cool sounding, although i cant make up my mind weather i like it better than a stock, they sound pretty different, you should maybe do a shootout
sounds like the treble and bass are dialed in pretty good.when you cranked up the vocal effect,it sounded a little better to my ear too.Keep up the great vids!
what is the intro song?

Great mod! Well worth the effort. Jimi would have had Roger Mayer do it to his.

I actually really like the aggressive and in your face sounds of the stock crybaby but your mods sound great man, a much more Bud-wah smoother sound.
