It has been widely agreed that the directors cut is a much more complete film and that the released version did not do it proper justice. However in terms of an action movie (which most expected it to be) like Gladiator, I would say the shorter version is closer to what people expected.
For the record I prefered the longer version but if ever I feel like watching it again (which I do from time to time) I watch the shorter version (but I have both versions)

Religion is an obsticle that is not needed in a human's life. We should all rise above this nonsense and work together rather than use religion as an excuse or god as a scapegoat for killing people.. Im fine with people feeling more comfortable with dieing thinking that there will b an afterlife. But hell, religion junkies can be so obnoxious and hate you if you don't believe in god..Its ridiculous

It has been widely agreed that the directors cut is a much more complete film and that the released version did not do it proper justice. However in terms of an action movie (which most expected it to be) like Gladiator, I would say the shorter version is closer to what people expected.
For the record I prefered the longer version but if ever I feel like watching it again (which I do from time to time) I watch the shorter version (but I have both versions)
