  • Are you recording direct, using the MosValve or something else?

  • Can the AXE Ultra Get the tones of the PSa-1?

  • Axe fx; The black magical guitar box.

  • Bravo dude!, this device is so accurate to all those songs! Is this think like the other processors though, like the POD Live, where when you crank it for live, it sounds like shit?

  • @psychostew911 thing*

  • That thing is awesome..nice tone...great playing bro.

  • AHAHAH...j'm a huge U2 fan.....but"warning no u2 content" it' very funny!!!

Ciao cheers from Italy.....ps the ax-fx(and the ax-fx ultra) are awesome!

  • Are you happy with the axe? ty

  • What brand is that MIDI foot controller? Is it still manaufactured? Thanks.

  • sounds really ordinary to me but I hear that they're the bomb

  • hahaha "no u2 content" Thank you for that

  • its amazing no one can make this machine sound bad its that good

  • nice rack babe ;)

  • wow.. how does it perform on stage? by the way.. amazing cover of eruption

  • Honestly I checked the clips on these Axe FX preamps and they achieve a good studio sound but, dont sound believable live. It sounds more like a studio recording which is good for listener but as a player you want that Punchy dynamics to give you inspiration

  • they sound good at bedroom levels. used live they're shit

  • Yeah, it models.

  • do you have that "uno" mod on your midi board? I'm looking at this exact setup.... well, basically just the axe and the behringer midi board... How do you like them together?

  • thank you for posting one WITHOUT U2

  • Would you say it's good With or Without U2?

    lol

    (Sorry, had to do it)

  • Dude, i need an axe-fx

  • sweet i have that poweramp with my axe too. You seem to really crank the presence. Just wondering where do you usually set the volume on your mosvalve?

  • Ive had a interest in this but sounds sorta nasal, maybe its your cam mic?

  • Do you need an amp head or can you plug that into a cabinet and be good?

  • Or without a power amp?

  • @thrashBrowns need power amp unless you have a powered speaker cabinet/floor monitor.

  • @maltomario not even close to gary moore tone

  • @maltomario i want to buy a axe fx, too; when i play with pa could i buy an active monitor where i directly go in and with annother signal i go in the pa?

  • cool demo

hey a bud o mine bought one used about a month ago. he played it a gig last night and it DIED!! you would not believe how peed off he was!!!!!! its out of warranty and its dead. lights come on but nothing. no display or sound. kind of sucks since he spent close to full price for it. yours ever conk out?

  • not yet. no problems whatsoever. But, with any piece of gear, its a good idea to have a backup, especially if you're a working pro. I am saving up for a 2nd one just for that reason.

  • Why did you choose to use a mosvalve instead of a tube power amp?

  • light weight, smaller size, voiced for use with guitar rigs.

  • How Long have you been using it? I have one and haven't used it yet...How do you like it? Do you think it would be good for pa too or just guitar? How does it sound in your opinion? Thanks!

  • I would not use it for PA - it colors sound too much. For guitar its great but for PA you want a very neutral sounding amp.

  • @maltomario by good for pa, does he mean axe fx straight into a pa mixing board setup for a live setup?

  • go on git!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • sounds horrible

  • you are my new idol!

  • Are you going to sell the buddah wah?

  • already did.

  • Damn, I should have watched this video sooner, I was just gonna ask if you were selling the G major.

  • he have fucking noise

  • haha "no U2 content" you rock dude !

  • how much are those things, i can only find them in euros

  • 2000

  • 1500$ for the standard and 2000$ for the ultra

  • Let's say one of the digital tube algorythms dies, can you just replace it with a regular 6L6 or will you have to install a new firmware entirely?

  • i'm pretty sure you have to use a 6v6, the 6L6's plate voltage is way too high compared to the algorithm.

  • lol he played talk dirty to me

  • did you try out the pod x3? on a scale from 1 to 10 (10 the best) how much would you give the axe fx and how much the x3? and: in terms of fx quality is the axe fx better than the tc unit you had?

  • line 6 = 6

    axe fx = 11

    hope that helps christopherzberlin

  • Well, the X3 is a good modeller, I myself have one and it does its job, but you can't even remotely compare it to an Axe Fx. Simply put, it's the best modeller ever made to the date (no TC or H&K product, such as the ZenTera, can come close, though they give it a run for his money).

  • Thats not a tube power amp it SS

  • to BlackDragon:

    thats like saying

"if that guitars so good why you using an amp with it !!?!?!?!?!?"

  • nice demo, thanks a lot!

  • wow now that i notice this thing is freaking HUGE

  • its about the same size as most rack units

  • So are you happy with it or will you be going back to the awsome PSA1 and G-Major?

  • sold the PSA-1 and also the G-major. Although I suppose I should have kept them as a backup but I used the funds to help subsidize the cost of the AxeFX Ultra.

  • Thanks!. Makes me interested in one. Your playing was a treat too.

  • hey ive always wandered how come using a power amp through a regular guitar cab doesnt colour the sound?

like a regular guitar amp even wit the preamp bypassed would.

  • well fuck just playin eruption like its no big deal

  • Dude, awesome playing! And nice axe-fx ofcourse.

  • where all those sounds you got ready-made presets, or did you program them urself?

i hv a bassman 4x10, bt id like 2 get the sound of different heads nd all, would it b worth getin this processor?

  • thank you for not playing any u2. i've been really curious about these things since people rave about them being cutting edge modeling, but from the demos on youtube, it seems like people just buy it to sound more like the edge!

  • Thanks for taking the time to share your experiences with us. Very helpful

  • does this unit have a tube in it?

    Sounds kinds solid state tight...

  • no tubes...

  • I noticed a lot of hiss when the preset involved any kind of gain. Doesn't seem any better than the ART SGX-2000 I had back in 1995. Sorry not too impressed with it. Nice demo anyways.

  • I've owned an SGX-2000 and this is no comparison. Yeah there was hiss but i also didn't have noise gate enabled. Realize that the hiss was intentional as the axe fx was 'modelling' a high gain amplifier - which will hiss anyway at high gain settings.

With noise gate enabled, this is a moot point.

  • hey guys, malto here. i just posted some videos of me playing this live, DI to the PA mixer. i posted a video response above (band videos are under a different account) so check that out and you can listen to the other videos from there.

  • GREAT demo. First user demo that is helpful. What do you think of the amp sims, drive sims on this unit? Can it really compete with the real deal amps and effects? I own some really nice pedals and would love know how this thing truly holds up. Are the tones tube like warm or are there shades of the coldest of the digital processing? Very interested in your thoughts as you seem a reliable source and i am considering buying this unit. Thanks in advance.

  • It only gets better! Looks like you are "getting it" pretty well for the first night. Thx and enjoy - and remember to wear a helmnet.

  • yes, all stock presets. i actually had cab sim turned on by accident (there's option to globally overide preset cab sims) . i didn't realize that until after i recorded this demo (and didnt feel like re-recording one at that point).

with cab sim off (and running thru real 2x12 cab) it sounds even better than what you hear. its like a wet blanket has been removed now.

will post more clips in future, as i've only seen a few decent youtube vids on this.

  • Nice sounding rig you got there!

Are all those stock presets? And do you run the axe-fx with the amp and cab sim off?
