i have an 81 250R that ive had approx 11 years, and ive had great service out of it. i ride it maybe 1 hour a year, just to keep it working. i may sell it soon due to other intrests. any one itrested may contact fatsadie.

Nevermind tank said 20:1 oil mixture. Changed it to 35:1 (honda dealership suggested)and runs better and doesn't smoke!

I figured it out. the 1981 says 20:1 gas to oil. After a few forums was told that ratio never worked. Run 36:1 with the good honda oil and mine stopped smoking in a matter of 5 minutes.

Its supposed to smoke like that. Its a 2 stroke. Not quite that much i put a bit too much oil in. But yeah its supposed to.

I just bought the same bike/year. Mine smokes like that. Does yours need new rings?
