Yeah, though it was a bit harsh, you got to remember that this was made in 1996. Princess Dianna was always getting ridiculed in the news for having slept with her bodyguard during her marriage to Prince Charles. She didn't die until August of '97.

I never even remembered Diana Carvey having his own stand-up variety show.... This is awesome! If this was on today it'd be great! Too bad Stephen Colbert and Steve Carrel were unknowns back then... This show would be a total win today!

Second, the best part of this show is Robert Smidgel's imitation of Bob Dole. He also used to do it on Conan O'Brien's late night talk show, and it was a stone-cold riot. "Dole's in control! Dole's on a roll! Dole's gonna win the equivalent of the Super Bowl!"
