  • It seems I can't stop watching this video..I know I've watched it at least ten times..LOL. It's a fun, informative and inspiring tutorial; the results were amazing.

  • Fela Kuti - Zombie :) Love that tune....Great video by the way ....

  • I knew it, I knew it was Fela Kuti playing in the backgrounds! Big up to Afro beats! My country man repping! :D...RIP.

  • What do you do about pixie-knots? Do you get them?

  • Hi Kim,

I am having trouble finding 100% Aloe Vera Gel. Is 98% or 99% pure an ok product to use? Thanks, peace and blessings!

  • 1:11 nice frohawkkk!!

  • Is this Fela music you are playing>? I love it. You are the bomb.com

  • OMG! You have Jamiroquai's "Love Foolosophy" in your background music! They're one of my favorite bands! You have given me another reason to LOVE your channel! :-)

  • i notice that in many of your videos you measure what you put into your hair. i want to know is it needed to measure each product you mix or does it just come out better when you use this process?

  • Hey kimmay! I was just wondering if this would work on wet or damp hair as well?

  • I found this video last night and used the Aloe Vera Gel with another leavein that I have (Quemet biologics) afterwards I sealed with a bit of grapeseed oil and OMG my hair is so soft. Thanks for this video, I cant believe I didnt see it before.

  • Glad to here I'm not the only one who hair don't like coconut oil

  • I love Fela's Zombie!!!!

  • wow your hair have GROW Leaps and bounds. Its fun seeing your older videos and compare! Gratz and thanks for posting.

  • I'm going to try this for my vacation!

  • Hi Kimmay!! Did you have your conditioner in your hair prior to applying your Miss Jessie mixture?

Thanks!! Make it a fabulous day!!

  • Hello Kimmay, your vidoes are very informative, thanks for the time you spend making them. I have a question about protective styling. Does protective styling have to be a style that you keep in your have for a month or longer? The reasaon I ask is bc I often style my hair to last me for 2 weeks so that I'm not in my hair every week manipulating it, would this count as protectively styling my hair?

  • Hmmm. Maybe I'll try curly meringue. Never tried aloe vera gel either..... sigh the possibilities.

  • @TriniCurlyGirl please give us an update on these products...I have never tried curly meringue or any of Miss Jessie's products. I have tried the Aloe Vera Gel, and my hair started to come out. I had to do an aPHogee protein treatment to stop it from coming out. I have experience this with other gels in the past, but this time I knew what to do to stop it. I tried ecostyler argan oil gel....so far its working very well. No extra shedding. Much luv.

  • I'm not sure if you have answered this question, my apologies if you have. How do you maintain this hairstyle...do you have to retwist at night? PS...Love your videos, they have helped me in making my hair healthier than it's ever been!

  • This video was great just like the rest of your video's. I have to try this mixture. When I did my twist out with Miss Jessies my hair came out so crunchy, I like the pattern but could not deal with the way my hair felt. Thanks again.

  • ZOMBIE, MY Fav Fela Jam! good work Kim!

  • @dagoodnegress mine too! shuffering and shmiling & roforofo fight are my number 2 & 3 faves...

  • Thanks for making these vids Kimmy!

  • @RaineaTrenton

    Aw, you're sweet.

Thank you for thanking me. :o)

  • you like fela kuti!! me too!

  • *starts dancing to the Fela you put as the background!*

  • HEY KIM WASSUP GIRL!!

I ONLY HAVE A MIN. HERE BUT I JUST WANNA LET YOU KNOW THAT YOU HAVE INSPIRED ME AND MADE ME TAKE MA NATURAL HAIR JOURNEY SERIOUSLY (JUST TO LET U KNOW I WAS BORN NATURAL BUT I WANNA GET MY HAIR LONGER.ITS ABOUT 9 SUM INCHES IN THE MIDDLE AND ABOUT 10 EVERY WHERE ELSE..I BASICKLY HAVE YOUR SAME HAIR TYPE :))

I USSALY DO THIS STYLE BUT I LEAVE MY BRAIDS ON FOR A FEW DAYS BEFERE REMOVING. WELL MY QUESTION FOR YOU TODAY IS HOW LONG DO YOU WEAR THIS STYLE FOR?..

    Debbie

  • What did coconut do to your hair that made you realize it didn't like it?

  • This is about how long my hair is now!

  • this ms jessies cream in the sf bay area at target (where is the only place i found it) cost $58 is there any product that comes close to this @kimmaytube

  • k love your videos and just finished re-watching them all! lol i know took me bout 8 hours...replaying some of them. Why you may ask...im currently transitioning to natural. Kinda excited only 3 months post and want to wait about 2 yrs to big chop but dont know how that will work to retain length of my natural hair? Another question i have is what do you mean by your hair doesn't like coconut oil? What changes did you notice in your hair to come to that conclusion...Thank you in Advance :)

  • Hi kimmay! Just wanted to start of by saying love your videos. My question is when you did this original video did you finding the pH balance for the Miss Jessies product? Thanks!

  • The BOGO is currently on for Miss Jessie I will try this technique of streching the product by adding aloe. thanks for the tip

  • Hello! I absolutely love your videos! You mentioned becoming an expert on our own hair, how do we determine what does and does not work for our hair?

  • @onlyM3R Trial and error

  • very good video

  • I think that you are awesome. I am actually on my relaxed healthy hair journey now, and watching your videos have made me consider to do a natural hair journey in the near future. You show a lot of people on youtube land that there are MANY ways to wear natural hair. I think that has a huge factor on black women's decision to go natural because most of us don't know how to take care of and style natural hair.

  • ZOMBIE!!! You go Kim.....I just got a Denman and some butterfly clips last week...Yippeee!! WOWWWW I like your results...The only Jessie's product I've actually considered investing in is the meringue....Thanks for the experiment...

  • i do this pretty often to my hair. mine is a bit shorter than that. I have some of the miss Jessies curly meringue. I didnt know to to use the gel. I think that may help a lot with mine. Great videos :D

  • Hi Kim! I absolutely LOVE your videos! please help, i have collar length hair, and i have done the protective style that you presented in your video. I was wondering if there are any other protective styles out there that i could explore?... Ps: i just started making you leave in conditioner, absolutely love it. The morning after, my hair feel so soft and moisturized! Thanks again!

  • Yes this twist out looks so much better than the KCCC on you. OMG! It looks so good!

  • Thanks, just the tutorial I needed for today!

  • Hi Kimmay. First I must say I just love watching your channel! I am somewhat of a new subbie so I'm still making my way through all of your vids :0) Your creativity, professionalism, &d edication is very much displayed & what keeps me coming back. I am SO glad you speak "proper" english lol I am looking forward to seeing what you have coming for us.

In addition, I like this style on you over the KCC as I just watched the most recent post. Thank you again for such awesome videos :0)

  • where did the olive oil come in at? you didnt show when you used it

  • @infidelity143 she states it @ 4:27,,, she puts a small amount on her hands to take the twist out

  • @shecutess....Basically what she's saying is, pay attention to how your hair reacts to a product. Because the results are great on her hair doesn't mean they will be great on yours.

I love Kimmaytube... she's good at ehat she does and she's honest.

  • Nice...but how will one know what their hair likes or dislikes..what happens

  • I like this style. Wow, your hair has really grown!

  • @musiclover77able

    Awesome response. Thanks!

  • Love FELA'S music!...An Icon is his own right

  • Kimmay, I am just amzed at how much your hair has grown. I am really gonna have to adopt your methods...as in those that I have not already adopted. My challenge is learning how to twist, but I will get there. Thanks for all the lessons ou have taught me.

  • I hope this isn't offensive but where are you from?

Because your hair is so beautiful and long I just don't see alot of black people with hair that long. basically what I'm asking is what country are you from, not America like are you from Africa, Jamaica, are you mixed race? please respond I want to know if my hair will ever be like that haha :)

  • @MOJOBABYXO she's 'just' black and she's 'just' American...sorry. lol.

  • Yep...the curly meringue twist out technique definately looks 10 times better than the kccc. Thanks for the update vid Kim.

  • Love the fact that you used Jamiroquai in the video!!!

  • I just wanted to say I <3 jamiroquai :-D

  • My hair is collar bone length right now.. and I'm going to try this style! I'm so encouraged too!!!!!!! Maybe in one year.. my hair will be as long and beautiful as yours!! :) THANKS FOR THE AMAZING TIPS TOO...about the use of aloe vera gel or juice.!!!!

  • I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!!! you are a true inspiration! keep up the awesome work!

  • Hey Kimmay! Thanks for the curly meringue/aloe vera gel mixture idea. I wasn't a fan of Miss Jessie's but this mixture made my hair feel moisturized and I like the results. Thanks again :)

  • Hey Kimmay! I'm sorry if this question was already asked, but where can I get your luv naturals shirt that you were wearing this video?

  • @LaLumunista

Hi! I will have LUV Natural logo tees available for purchase for 2011 when the weather is nice again!

:o) Thanks for asking. Yes, I've been getting that question a lot.

  • @kimmaytube

Thank u so much for taking the time to make these videos kimmy. I really appreciate it. You have inspired me to go natural :)

  • Kimmay I really enjoy your videos they are very creative and informative...and I thank you for this!! I have a question..I'm really struggling with split ends and itchy scalp...do have any idea how I can cure these things?

  • Kimmay, THANK YOU so much for this fabulous collection of videos. I started watching a few hours ago, and I've been glued to my seat ever since -- pen and paper in hand taking notes at every turn. You are an absolute Godsend! I first went natural as a college junior back in 2001. I started locs in 2006 and cut them out in 2009. Now I'm about 10 months into a new phase of my journey, but THANKS TO YOU this is the first time I actually feel confident about what I can do to take care of my hair.

  • Hey, where are you Kimmay, you are missed. Good luck with all you do.

  • i misss yoouuuuuuuu kimmy :(

  • hi ..i cant wait until your next video..im going to do my very first twist on a friend of mine because after watching your videos i think i can do it ..i will keep u posted

  • I'm curious Kimmay: do you do the twists on damp hair, of dry hair with just the mix?

  • Thanks Kim! Love your vids and looking forward to more.

  • kimmytube, your hair is so beautiful I am from mozambique, africa and i hope to threat my new natural hair, the way you do on yours

  • Thanx for responding to us because we were starting to worry!!!!

  • Okay I'll be patient, because I know u r making more KIMazing magic!

  • i just realized that you took down alot of your old vids. For example: braid out with banana clip, financial advice to 23 year old me, Avocado deep conditioner, etc....... can you put them back up please

  • Hello Mrs. Love...we need our kimmay fix. Missing you and waiting not so patiently for your next update. I hope all is well with you and you come back with a bang (which we know you are more than capable of). Do the dayum thang!

  • What up Kimmay, just wanted to say that most of your viewers truly appreciate you and thank you for devoting your time to these videos.

  • @MicroKitty

aw, thank you! I know. :-)

I'm still here. lol. Just been busy with my store for the past two weeks.

I've got a lot of exciting things coming up. You know that when I'm gone for an extended time, it means I'm working on something BIG! ;-)

  • @kimmaytube well i saw from some of your videos you did mention some family things and the store being busy and also you have another business no?? so take your time. just hoping everything is good on your end, this video actually reminded me i had some curly meringue left over and i thought, why not try it for a twistout today! Let's see how it comes out ;)

  • @kimmaytube Glad to here, I'll keep checking back :-D

  • Do you think you will ever loc your hair?

  • Miss jessies curls products have mineral oil in them... just out of curiosity what are your thoughts on mineral oil?? Ive read that it coats hair strands and prevent moisture from entering the hair, I also read that it is very difficult to wash out.

  • Hey Kimmay! Where are you? Your subbies need you, lol. I hope all that hype and drama hasn't caused you any problems. I still love you regardless. Hope all is well.

  • hey kimmaytube, when are u coming out with another video, i was waiting to see if you were going to talk about a winter regimen.

  • @1nonlicc me too :-D

  • Congrats on reaching 30,500..stay blessed anda keep the vids coming

  • Kim where you? I need my kimmy fix

  • Hey Kim! Looking forward to your next video! Hope you and your family are well!

  • How are u Kim?Missing the vids! Please keep em comin!

  • I have two-strand twists in my hair right now that I did using the curly meringue and aloe vera gel. I hopw it comes out because I find my hair doesn't hold curls very well... or maybe it's my technique. Here's hoping...

  • Lovely style! I might try this today!

  • Dang it Ms. Kimmaytube. I said i wasnt gonna twist my hair today. After seeing this, I am gonna go ahead and do it. Love the style. Thanks for the reload :-)

  • My boyfriend and I (yes, my boyfriend, too) absolutely love your channel! Well, he says you've branded yourself phenomenally! I just love all of the videos.

And what happened to all of your "advice to the 23-year-old me" videos? I wanted to share them with him!

  • I am new to your channel and your videos are fantastic. I really need the help. thanks

  • CONGRATULATIONS on this YouTube milestone (I'm happy to say that I'm a part of it too with the other 31,081 current subscribers)! I have to give your twisting method a try. Even though, I won't be using Miss Jessie's products (I can't use what I don't have), but I'm sure I can find something to use from my "hair stash" for similar results, hopefully. I'll take your suggestions and make them my own (Gotta "luv" this natural hair community :-D)!

  • what about the 4 elements show ..... LOL you have 3 more to go

  • oooooo! I hear FELA's ZOMBIE!!!!!! (*i'm nigerian, and prone to noticing these things....*) ....the twistout's fabulous!

  • Kimmaytube your videos have been such a great source of information and encoragent! I have just transitioned from what started out as Sisterlocks (which I started maintaining by latch hooking) I picked each one out and now have a full head of loose natural hair. Thanks to your vidsy daughter and I are learning to love our natural hair! Thanks for the time and effort you sacrifice to help educate me on my natural hair!

  • Hi I can't wait for you to post a new video. Keep your head up.

  • Hello! I usually don't comment, but can you reload your styling with the banana clip vid. I can't find them. Thank you much luv, smile

  • I am amazed at the amount of growth you've gotten in 18 months... it is truly inspiring!

  • Kimmay, did you take down some of your videos? I was looking for one of your Q&A vids I think where you mentioned some ladies here on youtube who have good fitness channels.I was just looking for the channels, would you be so kind to list them again? or mention them in one of your upcoming weekend shows? would really appreciate that. Thanks for all your hard work you are such an inspiration :)!

  • Kimmay, I'm glad you reposted this video. I always do medium twists! I mean, they're just going to be taken down for a twist out. Sometimes I make the twists in the back of my head larger than the front. This gives me a more defined and layered appearance. It also gives me the option of making it a protective style by making a bang with the front twists and tucking the ends & other twist into a beret. :)

  • Keep up with great videos! Looking forward for more.

  • Loved watching this vid again. Your hair looks esp amazing in the intro of the vid! Fela Kuti is the truth!

  • Thank you Kimmaytube for accepting the video response I appreciated it

  • I'm often discouraged from twisting my hair because I'm afraid it will take too long. How long does it take you to twist up all your hair now compared to 18 months ago?

  • in your newer videos are you still using miss jessie? I know you still use the aloe, just wondering b/c my plan was to try your leave in recipe and miss jessie is not in the ingredients. can I do the twist outs with JUST the leave in? my hair tex looks a lot like yours.

  • Did you use the same product mix in the updated look? Your hair is lovely btw :)

  • You are a lifesaver! I have been trying to figure out what to do to my hair after a style!

  • Thankyou for being so thorough in your vids. I am going to try this style this weekend. Also thanks for being so economical & fashion savy. Ms. Jessie is pricy but now I know how to stretch the product. . Keep up the great work!

  • THanks for always being soooo thorough in all your videos. I appreciate you! Im trying this out this weekend. Also thanks for being so economical & fashion savy. Im so happy you showed us how to stretch Ms. Jessie out. LOL!

  • Hello Kim, I know you are putting so much effort & time in what you do. I've learned A LOT, I mean A LOT thanks to your help. I think you are a great! No matter what people say. I believe information (so knowledge) is power, so you empower me as well. Because you are kind enough to share that with us. I think it is sad that misunderstanding happened, but that's life. I would love to see all three of you getting back on that supporting network you built. I wish you all the best & thank you :-)

  • hi i like it

  • Love you Kimmay!!!! Keep dreaming big and pushing natural hair forward. You're labor of love keeps us all informed consumers of this new industry that's being created organically right in front of us. When you make your first million, I'd love a job!! lol

  • hey Kimmaytube. I just want to thank you for all that you've done to keep your viewers educated and informed. Please stay encouraged. I can't wait to see another episode.

  • Hey where is the weekend show? :-(

  • can you use pomade castor oil?

  • Love your show and thanks for the Zombie, love some Fela Kuti!!

  • i always wondered why you had up...how long did miss jessie's twist out last...now i know

  • Love your work Kimmay!!! Can't wait to see the Weekend Show.

  • YAY! I'm happy it's coming back soon! I love the whole show but I salivate over the movie segment. The last couple of years I've tuned out movies for the most part bc I didn't see how it could add to my life :-/ But your recommendations have been great. I love the Diary of a Tired Black Man. Looking forward to the next rec. Have a great rest of the week!

  • My hair is that length now...hopefully I'll be where you are in 18 months!!

    :)

    *fingers crossed*

  • Good choice in music! Fela is the BOMB!

  • How does coconut oil affect your hair that you don't like?

  • KEEP DOING YOU. <3

  • So impressed you used Fela Kuti's Zombie in your video. Your leave in conditioner has changed my hair and your videos have changed my life. God bless you. Thank you for the time you take in researching and the time you take to make these videos. You Rock Kimmaytube!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh and did you know Jamiroquai is coming out with a new album in November?!?! =) I know you're a fan so... thought I'd pass it on.

  • Glad to have you back :)

  • FELA KUTI :D Miss Jessie's is just so DARN expensive and I think I used up my curly meringue in like three weeks.. it smelled really good but... honestly Kimmay I get the same results on a twist out using the conditioner you came up with and some water... But Aloe Vera gel? Now that's a thought!

  • My twist outs never, ever look like that. I think my hair is too thin for that style. It always looks a HAM when I take the twists out. Looks great on u though.

  • all I want to know is... are you going to do a fall/winter 2010 fashion show ;-) And.... I can't to see the next weekend show!

  • Kimmyyyy! Just thought I'd let you know that I LOVE your videos. I bc'd back in may and I started watching your videos maybe back in december 2009..yeah, something like that. Anyways, you basically helped me make up my mind to go natural and I am extremely glad that I did it. I'm a junior in high school and I just recently did a research paper on a book of my choice (Grow it!-by Chicoro) and I used your youtube videos as an extra source. Thank you so much for your abundance of info.^_^

  • Hi Kim!!! i just want to add my thanks for your many videos and your in-depth research regarding natural hair care methods and practices! I also appreciate the healthy hair care products that you offer, your articulate and fun way of explaining difficult subjects along with visual aids AND your professional demeanor!!! Thanks for the RELOAD; it showed that your styling technique STILL works on longer hair! Keep up the good work!!! Congratulations on reaching 30,000+ subscribers!!!

  • thanks for the videos. i know it takes a lot of time do to this videos. just want to show my support

  • I used your method of cutting the Miss Jessie's product w/aloe vera gel and loved how it worked! I cut the Curly Buttercreme with it and liked it much better - felt less greasy to me. Thanks again for that tip!

  • Yahoo highlights how Sesame Street addresses how little black girls have to learn to love there hair! Kimmay, I feel inspired by you, sometimes i want to get into some educational venture about hair! check it out, it brought tears to my eyes

  • @Tranquila95

Yes! I saw it -- it was awesome. One of you sent it to me. Sesame Street is timeless.
