According to Greg Russo, this is Keith Relf on vocals with New York band The Cyrkle (Al Gorgoni guitar, Joseph Macho Jr bass, Bobby Gregg drums & tambourine) playing the instruments - none of the other Yardbirds were involved. The music was recorded in NYC and the vocals in London.
keith might sound happy but he was forced to do these pop songs by mickie most who was always after a commercial sounding hit single.i read somewhere that keith always lliked the eric clapton period of the yardbirds.
That is true. He always did like doing the slower, sort of blues numbers. I think that maybe Keith preferred to do the slower songs because they had more depth in them? Like the songs he did with Renaissance, they are all slower, but very deep. I heard a commerical that he did for "great shakes" on here, and I could almost bet he really didn't like doing that. I could see how that would bother him,to do songs all the time that he really didn't care for.I do like this one,is it from little games?
This song is really cute! First time I have ever heard it. I like the urgency the tamborine adds to it. And Keith sounds like he really was having a fun time making this song. I read in an interview with him once where he didn't seem as though he ever had much fun recording certain songs. But this one he sounds happy, maybe its because of the "ha ha" part. This has made me smile. I love Keith.
keith was a legend.this song is more like a solo single as keith is the only yardbird on it along with session players. he was also a producer.he produced the following acts. saturnalia, medicine head, steamhammer, mandy more, smokestack crumble, hunter muskett, kala etc.
Unfortunately this LP was not up to The Yardbirds standards. Mickie Most was the wrong producer for them, couldn't understand their musical philosophy. The end was in sight but they had been glorious in their day.
hi snus glad you liked the clip.you should do an interview with jim and post it on your site.have you seen jim live with the yardbirds only or with his other groups like illusion, renaissance etc.
thanks for comment.i know what you mean with the money.i got my sony camcorder as a present for the kids.i wish i had bought it earlier as i could have filmed the kids when they babies.

No, only with the Yardbirds... (I was too young during the Renaissance or Illusion era! ;-)
As far as filming goes... well, first I need to buy a decent camcorder once the the money permits...
(Hope the pigs will learn to fly soon! ;-)
