Absolutely love this i was born in Arbroath in 1957 and remember the old places especially the pool and the low common, and auld Matt Kerr wi his mini-buses and trains, he is a legend, thank you very much for sharing this with us and i see one of my auld mates Ronnie Roberts in a previous reply to your column has also replied to this film, all the best Ian ...Tam Webster
We had a couple of great holidays to Arbroath around about 1974/75. Lovely innocent days which I still remember with great affection. The Red Lion caravan Park was where we stayed.
Omg seeing arbroath like this is really werid i hang about down at the front (beach bit and stuff) and to see that its like Wow. Bring back the outdorr swimming pool with diving things and stuff arbroath does need more things to do i wish we stilll had the bowling and the pictures
I've lived here 20 years this year and always wanted to see what the swimming pool was like. I've searched flickr looking for photos and found nothing so thanks for this...........really enjoyed seeing the pool, just wish they had left it as it was.

They're not talking about the paddling pool - they're talking about the swimming pool, which is now Ballys/waterfront nightclub.

I remember the bathing pool well and have said mant times since if you can endure the coldness of that pool you can swim in any uk waters.
