  • this used to be very highly skilled and poorly paid work several hundred years ago when all lace was handmade and it was very popular in fashion. Whole lace making workshops.

  • Holy Cow! How on earth can anyone keep track of what they are doing with all those strings and spindles? I can't even keep one kite string from becoming entangled with itself, let alone 60 other strings!

    Definitely a God-given skill...
