  • Did i miss something, do we use the exact same ingredients as the cake soda bread? Can't wait to make both. Thank you so much!

  • thank you so much, I made a typical irish meal for st paddy day and had to try this, it turned out great, thanks for your help.I made sure I wrote your name down so next time I can look for some recipes from you.... Sharon from Canada

  • Worked great for me first time, I covered them with a tea towel while cooking and afterwards. My wee Mum would have been so proud ....

  • Thanks for the message Elleirlanda. When I made the soda bread I used Robin Hood all purpose flour. I am having trouble replying to the message not sure why I am going to set up a new you tube account. I have a feeling the flour is the problem but I cannot get Irish four in Canada.

  • thats a nice looking soda think i will have to go get a bacon sausage and egg soda or belfast bap and a cup of tea dont know but im starving

  • I have tried to make this recipe 6 times. Each time it turns out like a brick. My husband says I could use them as weapons in battle. I am adding lots of liquid and being careful not to over mix. I have used all purpose flour and cake and pastry flour and I get the same end result and its not good!

  • @jbl4315 lol we just need to go down the street to get our soda farl my mum and granny used to make soda bread and patato bread cant beat it

  • after you turn soda you should cover soda with tea towel when cooking them also as it keeps them very moist also a wee bit thinner when pinning out would make them cook quicker and keep them lighter [im no baker but ive done a few sodas in me day lol

  • That's what my mom did

  • Thank you! My dad used to make soda bread and soda farl often, and I have been missing it a lot. This really helped me get the idea for how it should be made. :)
