cleam my ass...he was at a nose and throat doctor last year before the beacon shows in nyc which i see at least 3 of them..ayway..he was so clogged up from blow the doctor just sent him on his way with a prescription
Been a HUGE fan since 1976. Saw them three times back in the late 70's, during the first period of time they all got back together and then one more time in 2005. This video makes me kind of sad because even though it is an incredible off the cuff performance, I'm fairly sure Greg was really coked out in the video. He went through a lot of pain and suffering in his life from drug addiction but thank God he's been clean for a long time and even recently underwent a succesful liver transplant.
@sacrowley11 no...greg gets by..duane was one of the bestnthat played with the best...greg was a phenom keyboard player....greg never held a candle to duane's skills
I heard a recent interview where Greg said that musical ability wasn't genetic, it was the result of hard work and the will to do something. I'm not discounting the latter - but how can anyone deny the genetic component? Duane and Greg are as good as it gets, and all of Greg's offspring seem to be greatly talented. Thanks so much for posting this, it is beyond my ability to describe...but it's surely appreciated. ; )
@screeningmimi Well, I respect your oppinion but I'd put more weight in what Greg says... after all he's actually done it. As for his children, maybe they really want to be like their dad which gives them the drive to work at it. I'm sure though that both factors are at play in great musical ability. The question is how much of each?
@mrfester42 You have an excellent point mrfester42, there has to be elements of both. There's no doubting the work Greg puts in - all the better to make it look easy. ' ) On reflection, there are a lot of talented people in various areas. That talent is wasted without the drive, dedication, and love that Greg and Duane exemplified, and that Greg continues. The Brothers made ripples that are present 40 years later - that's a whole lotta something!
hearing a little buzz? I'd say feeling a little buzz ..... I used to smoke my hemp to nourish my mind in my young days, now I'm old and I eat my hemp every morning to nourish my body...organic oatmeal...for the omega 3 benefit.
@xvirg Same here, man. I guess all those nights of bong hits and eating entire pizzas definitely contributed to my high triglyceride count! I sure did some weed smoking at those Allman shows.
Greg was in a zone, I like it!!

@screeningmimi I personally dont think it is so much genetic as growing up around people like Dickey Betts, Duane, Butch, etc.
