  • Geez.....where do we have to give blood, sweat, and tears to get Catherine Wheel back on the road!!!! I never got a chance to see them and would love the opportunity.

  • I want Catherine Wheel to tour soooooooo bad. :( I'm 21 years old and I want to see them live. I saw My Bloody Valentine live and it was one of the best experiences of my life. I wish Slowdive would tour together again too.. I miss all of them soooooo badly. I grew up with this kind of music at my house and I want it to be more a part of my life. It's so sad that these bands aren't touring anymore.

  • He should have had more reverb on his mic. It's too flat for this tune. Such a great song and great band. Wish I had seen them when they were around.

  • @jamo387 Agreed on the reverb (or is it echo?). Go see Rob solo if you can, not quite the same, but still truly amazing.

  • @TheShadyOne, I just meant after around 5:00 the wide-shot moves in and he's lost out the frame just as he starts really going off. Don't get me wrong, I love this whole performance, just thought it might be fun to see him rip for the minute and a half or so.

  • Too bad the guitar stage right, which makes this song by the way, is not in frame..

  • Oh, I love this song! Always have! Thanks for posting it up.

  • Nice job on a f'ing epic tune. I miss Catherine Wheel and all the shoegazer bands...

  • I saw the guys in Pittsburg on the Wishville tour. I was floored when they pulled this song out live. I think I could only be more so if they had played Girl Stand Still. :-D I'm still hoping for that one some day.

  • Brian Futter is a mad man but in the good way

  • This is the show from which the live bonus tracks included with the bonus Wishville cd were taken.

I miss these guys. I listened to Ferment all day long (on repeat) in a dark room. Great Sunday.

  • no its not

  • Sounds better than the CD

  • Wow! I never saw this video! I was there! They should get back together. great show. came free with last album.

  • Here is the tour. Catherine w. Slow Dive and lush. Music is dead. Maybe im just old.

  • You forgot the ever important band Ride. Add them and you have a legendary show. My bloody valentine and curve would be awesome too.

  • @innerstatejt Ride - Catherine Wheel - Insprial Carpets - The Charlatans - James

That would be the most amazing show ever. Glad I saw every one of those bands at least twice.

  • @beauty8116 Saw all those bands. Lush will never get back together because Chris Ackland has passed on, Emma now is a new mother. Catherine Wheel could tour again like Sweredriver and Pixies, but they choose not too. I'm just glad I saw Catherine Wheel twice, but I am sad they never came back to south Texas after Chrome. They still had four more albums of stuff I wanted to hear live.

  • @orbfile What about SLOWDIVE, Will we ever see them again???????

  • @beauty8116 these were superb in their day. Listen to some Exit Calm my friend:-) v v good!

  • This tune makes me Float on air!

  • ahhh... this song always had such a creepy edge to it. But then again, that was Catherine Wheel's sound.- they were so awesome. Rob is great. =)...from the depths there.....

  • This is one band that really needs to regroup and tour again.

  • Saw them at DC's 9:30 Club in 92 or 93 the Spin Fontana Tour. Talked with Brian (guitarist) in the hall before the show. A great, down-to-earth guy for playing such spacy, glaciery guitar.

  • Amanda K. Love You always and forever. Too much is not enough.

  • Brian's guitar is mesmerizing.

  • wh00t, love the band, hate the lack of attention given to them.

  • I saw this tour... freakin awesome

  • Catherine Wheel is the best band no one knows about. Too damn bad.

  • I've said since the turn of the century that they were the most underrated band of the 90's. Them and Swervedriver....

  • Without doubt the most under rated band of the alternative era! Just listen...

  • I saw Catherine Wheel in 2000. Such a great band. Wish they would reunite.

  • Once again, another fine example of how criminal is was that this band was downplayed and underrated by the radio stations here in the US throughout the 90's

  • most beautiful song ever written.

  • This is the "the wall" for a new generation. Those of us who were there during this group's crescendo will always remember it as the peak of stylized beauty and creativity. The nude is an artistic nadir that I have yet to see surpassed. Rob Dickinson is the true unsung hero of postmodern existentialism indierock.

  • Hmm.

  • I love the Catherine wheel so much ! Insane !

  • I Love Brian Futter's Guitar work on this! Go buy the new CD by 50 Ft Monster, Futter and the Drummer Neil Sims!!!!!

  • But, "there's a psycho on the loose, he's playing with the fuse..." How can I possibly leave the house to purchase a CD??? And, Jeeeeezzzusss, "I need to sleep so much..." maybe I should just stay home and take a nap. Buy the CD for me while you're out, will you? Thanks for that!!! And, thanks again for turning me on to this incredible sound, seriously!!!

  • does this song have anything to do with robert fripp?

  • I only heard this band for the first time last night. But wouldn't surprise me at all if the song is a Robert Fripp tribute of some sort. Can see how the band might have been influenced by King Crimson. What gorgeous lyrics and sound they have!

  • THose are some of their most killer lyrics, that's why they are the only one's printed on the CD. This was from thir last tour. I saw them twice in one week! NYC and Atlanta. Lucky me!

  • About Fripp and Da Wheel. CW is obviously well versed in all great rock. How cool is that, naming a track simply "Fripp"? I haven' heard any storys but i think it basically comes from the first few bars have a very Fripp-like sound withthat synthy-guitar sound, sort of under water. AND the Lyrics are very arty-psychedelic like something Belew and those guys would come up with.

  • I was part of an interview with the band in 92 when Chrome came out.....We asked why the song was called Fripp? Rob said the guitar parts sounded a little like his dreamy stuff, and that is the only reason it is called that.

  • I love this band sooooo much. I saw them in Denver, CO. One of the best shows ever that I have seen.

    Cheers other fans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thank you for posting. Such a wonderful band they were. Too bad they never got the recognition they deserved.

  • yep. the intersection. july 3rd, 2000. i was there. impressive that you shot this there... it was hot as hell and one of the smallest venues i've ever been in.

  • wow-- must be a great memory, sudecrush! one that would live in your mind for many years. i hope somehow CW will live on, maybe be "rediscovered"...

  • again... this is awesome, and i'm pretty sure i was at this show. london, pontiac, and detroit... and chicago all had balcony's... i don't think this was from the grand rapids show. i saw cw 6 times on the last two tours. you rock!

  • london canada?

  • Yes! The Knack was the venue... I think I spelled that correct... I have the ticket stub somewhere. I remember Rob had a bit of a cold at that show but CW still pulled off a memorable show.
