Deuteronomy happens to be the ONLY book written in the 1st person by a prophet. The others were not written by qualified prophets that pass the requirements of being a messenger of God that is authoritive.
Other books say "God said to Moses" but peple don't ask who is this writing as if they heard it and why isn't Moses writing it?
Deuteronomy is also the last book written by Moses and it states not to add or subtract what was given that day. NT is shown illegal.
I recommend studying the doctrinal conflicts between the Sadducees and the Pharisees, as well as doctrinal differences among smaller sects like the Essenes, that were going on before and during the life of Jesus Christ.

Certainly that prophet will meet these requirements of being a regular man from among the brothers.
Deut 13 gives test of whether or not to follow a prophet. Now the trick would be to apply this test to all the claimed prophets to see which are not really prophets.

@yamank2 You have a point that is a great point. Because Deuteronomy states you can only listen to prophets who give miracles and because you cannot add a word or subtract a word. Why would the unknow writter be considered "allowed" since we see that the writer not only has additions which violate the law but the writer claims they heard what God said to Moses. But that only strengthens the arguement against the new testament.

The word repent in the Bible means to turn from one direction and go in another and it's used in the context of salvation, not apologizing for your sin.
The old Jewish law required blood sacrifice for remission of sins.
Do you sacrifice bulls, goats, or lambs when you repent of your sin?

Actually the law of that sacrafice wasn't written by Moses. It is written by someone who claims they heard what God said to him.
Thus because we don't know who wrote the book and that they are not quoting Moses word for word, it fails Deut 13 law.

He did do signs, but so did other prophets. He said to worship God. Its by studying the scriptures that you realize that God said he is the shepherd, the messiah to come. And by studying the texts that you see God's promise fulfilled in Jesus Christ.
Jesus is YOUR GOD made flesh. He is the WORD OF GOD made flesh. The Torah is divine, no? Rabbinic Jews believe the Torah is divine, and believe in the resurrection of the dead.
Jesus (the word made flesh) confirmed that belief.

Consider too that God has never proved himself with great armies, or alike. It's hardly a miracle for a great army, or a powerful and rich king to squash those beneath him. God shows his power through what, to men, seems small and helpless. Hebrews, Moses, David, Jesus.
Christianity is all about these paradoxes that God has shown himself to be a fan of. By not fighting back, we grow. By dying, we live.
Christianity is hurt the most when we fall into human thinking and fight for power.

Moses wrote this in past tense before he died. It already happened long before the tribe of Judah ever even crssed over into Israel and built the temple.

All of the Isaiah passages quoted as prophecy are PAST TENSE.
Figure out how something that is written in past tense is not a prophecy and I will give you a golden star on your finger drawings.
Isaiah was 20 generations before Jesus. If it already happened in Isaiah's time WTF is a prophetic prediction of Jesus.
Comparing Jesus to other people who are dead is not proof.

Isaiah is speaking in past tense which proves he is talking about something that already happened. It isn't even a propechy.
Never mind the fact that Isaiah was approximately 20 generations before Jesus.
Isaiah 9:9 states a child "has" been born. Again past tense. Even if it was future tense of hundreds of years, "prince of peace" doesn't describe Jesus. This child was to rule on the throne of David. Did Jesus rule a throne or goverment? Jesus made it clear he did not come to bring peace.

The funny thing about Satan saying to Jesus "If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread." was that although Jesus stated about words of God being food, Jesus pulled the stunt with the loaves and fishes. He was a hypocryte or he was saying that his speaches that drew crowds were not the words of God, so the people needed bread.
Sex is sex and it is not evil between a man and his wife. Deviation is rampid and taught on TV and by modern culture to be ok. Its not a holy thing.

4Q You picked the best prophecies of them all. Moses was not free from sin. Moses did not get concieved by a union of a spirit and a virgin in voilation of adultry laws and betrothal. Technically Jesus is not part of any tribe as tribes follow paternal liniage, therefore he is not a brother of any tribe. He would need to be adopted by Jospeh.
Moses talked to God and when he spoke he said which words were Gods. Moses did not befriend evil and sit with tax collectors.

Because Jesus is the result of a union that is in violation of the betrothal of Mary and is condsidered adulteress; he can't enter the congregation. This is a prophet prediction and it is clear multiple prophets are to come by the subsequent passage that states some willfully speak. One thing is certain, it is not a prediction of a man-god but a regular man. Jesus taught no observance, Moses wouldn't. Jesus talked to Satan;Moses to God. Jesus stood on unholy ground, moses on a holy mountain. etc

On thing I want to make clear, on Deuteronomy 18:15 it that is not the same prediction prophets made of a Messiah coming at the end of times to bring peace to the world.
Certainly that prophet will meet these requirements of being a regular man from among the brothers.
Deut 13 gives test of whether or not to follow a prophet. Now the trick would be to apply this test to all the claimed prophets to see which are not really prophets.
I haven't done this yet. To Jesus I have and he fails.
