Your goal in doing this was to show me how your product is superior. And I must say, you did just that. Your products are very logical, and rationally designed. I'm impressed how many of the pitfalls you've engineered out while putting so many great features in. Well done, I'm sold.
at 2:49 you say "the best tripod and ball head is the one you have with you" - I see you are stealing quotes from Chase Jarvis and changing them without giving him credit. Chase says "the best camera is the one you have with you"..... verbal plagiarism? just an observation, I'm not trying to be an ass....
@hcoll i can accept that they are better but they cost several times more than a manfrotto but are only a tiny bit better. unless you are a very well off pro photographer the cost is insane as you could spend that money on lenses or bodies. all a tripod has to do is keep the camera still. and how do the better design and materials benefit you that much?
@bronze5420 "all a tripod has to do is keep the camera still". And that's where cheaper materials and construction make a huge difference, trust me. Even the tiniest vibration transmitted through that material can affect your sharpness. Yes it is a lot more expensive, never said it wasn't, but you get what you pay for. Buying a tripod is the same as buying a lens, going cheaper will result in more replacements and upgrades, better to buy one that'll last you 10 years then one cheap one a year.
@hcoll first off, ever heard of a weight (sandbag etc...) i've got a manfrotto that has been around the world (africa 40+ degrees C, russia -25 degrees C and many other places). It is used almost daily and it cost me 250 and still works like new. No point in paying 4 times that much
@bronze5420 If it works for you then good to ya. But for certain uses a sturdier tripod is needed. I never said a Manfrotto head or legs won't do the job well, simply that when it comes to buying a tripod the one that costs twice as much does so for a reason and is more than worth it for those who need or want the better quality product, i.e it's not as simple as " Lol that's too expensive, just get a Manfrotto".
@bronze5420 Yeah. Actually I don't need an Acratech head, I'm happy with my Induro BHD ball head. I'm just defending Acratech in terms of justifying the $400 price tag.
He was a bit biased towards ball heads though, first he used a pan and tilt without a quick release, then he didn't include the fact that you might want to check the spirit level on the ball head before taking the picture
The Acratech ballheads are no doubt one of the best ball heads that I've seen around...they are also one of the most expensive! As someone just getting into photography I think I'd rather put that money towards a lens.
Do any of you use a level with this? If so how do you set it up? I would think you would want one on the head so that you can get your shots easily lined up.
Hello, i am from Singapore. Do you have a local agent in SG? I am very much interested in your products since it does look it should be able to last years in the field. This will be my third head and was considering a manfrotto but your products does seem better designed. Hopefully it will last till the day i retire my slik u212.

guess how much one of those ball heads costs: $400!!!!! thats more than the fuckin tripod. just get a manfrotto

@bronze5420 Any Acratech head will be 5 times better than the equivalent Manfrotto one.
hcoll 1 year ago
@hcoll thats a matter of opinion. and define "better"
bronze5420 1 year ago
@bronze5420 not really. They are made of better materials and better designed. Manfrotto are the Vizios of tripods.

Wow, $300 for a ball head alone. Eeekk...expensive. Although they look very durable and very high quality.

Sorry,
I see it now but it was not mentioned in the vid.
So I will replace the above stupid question with another; Does this type of head fit just about any tripod like the carbon Manfrotto?
