Third person possible yes. You can switch between first person and third person by pressin numpad Enter.

In player profile settings you can choose the player face texture, there is a Lot of differend ones, or use your own or downloaded custom faces.

@JHOW95 that should be fine, i have 1.5gigs, an average graphics card (256mb ATI, i can't remember the model) a crappy internet connection but my online gameplay still works fine. You only need great specs if you wanna make films and stuff or if you wanna buy ARMA2 coming out next year ;-)

I dont know about this game to be honest.

I have played OFP for over 2 years, never took part in tournaments or something, but I played it online, a lot.

Because I had an old pc, I didnt get the chanch to play arma till I got my new pc, which was a week ago.

But I dont get the same feeling I get with this game, that I got with ofp.

I removed the game today,I dont know why, it just cant bother me as much as OFP did.

I played OFP for 4 years, had huge amounts of addons and mods, played the Campaing through and made my own scenarios and so on.

Loved it.

After playing ArmA for few months, I tried OFP again...

Ugly, clumsy and not so "real" anymore.

Back to ArmA.

If you have the latest patches, FDF_sounds, ArmaEffects and maybe some other nice little enhancements and mods, it sure has The Feeling.

Campaign may be crap, not much addons/mods out yet, but Everything else is sooo much Better.

Not enough bright funny colors and no big-eyed midgets for you, I guess.

The game itself is fun as fuck, well, almost.

Unless you are dumb enough and unable to learn how to use the fantastic editor.

It's not so difficult, though.

If you are able, and you have at least some imagination and creativity, you will have almost unlimited possibilities for differend kind of scenarios.

Boring? Not at all.

It is a war "sim".

And because it is shooting-, airplane-, tank-, car-, helicopter-, motorcycle- and whatever game with a story, single missions, and Editor, all kinds of enhancements and mods...and a nice camera scripting possibilities, it is not boring.

It may look boring(?), as war often does.

There is no M60 in ArmA.

And the M240 which is in ArmA, is pretty useless if you're standing.

Dude what are your spec I have a 8800gtx with 3 sticks of ram and I still cant handle all those units without graphix hiccuping :O

This one was "shot" in slow motion and speeded up in video editor, because I had just an old 6600 card then.

8800gtx handles the graphics great, but with lots of units you need a fast (single) processor too.
