Rory is lost a bit at the end of the 7th season, trying to find her way back, as when Jess saw her and she'd turned a 180. It would make sense if she found her way back, graduated from Yael, and came back to Jess.... Jess has his time away from Rory to find himself.. and this was Rory's time to learn. I think by the end of the show after Rory graduates from Yael, she's end up with Jess - "The guy who knows her more than anyone else." :)
