  • whoever got Nick to dance deserves an award

  • Great sound! I love this song every time!

  • SLB looked incredible with black hair

  • What a belter

  • Love this song.

  • Great song we used going down the cat walk, sex was free for the taking and it was every were. Fashion was on the west end, music was about to change forever. I miss the action we had w/out to much info to remind how crazy we really were. The Tubes were hot too.

  • simon has a full beard now, growing one. will post a picture

  • Who played sax on this? Where was Grace Jones to sing her part, that would have made this great video even better!

  • @grooverunner I'll answer my own question! Andy McKay (Roxy Music) is the sax player.

  • Fantastic!

  • 1st record i bought with my paperboy wages..brill song

  • @zubadub10 That's cool. I'm older...mine was The Reflex.

  • Ma al maschile?

    (joke x italians only)

  • BEHOLD! Nick's mullet of DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!

  • Love the ending when simon does the little dance! so techo

  • It sounds like they got Gozer from the Ghostbusters to do some spoken word in this song.

  • They all rocked Duran Duran,Powerstation, and Arcadia......Oh the eye candy....lol

  • Say what you want, but even decades later music like this had substance, artistry, and style. Always loved Duran Duran because they were a class act and

    so original...Arcadia was no exception.

  • I grew up in the 80's. Duran Duran was the shit! Simon le bon.. Yes, your still ROCKIN IT!

  • Sexy, sexy, sexy. Love the black hair x x x Love the song. Love the video. Love Nick.x x x

  • @riobluebell Absolutely. Nick's my favourite out of the whole band. I mean, don't you just love his smile?!

  • @Duranie747 Yeah he absolutely gorgeous and cute at the same time. His smile is soooo sexy!!! : - )

  • @riobluebell Oh my goodness sexy friggin right....black hair suits them, could they have gotten any hotter? The instrumental section to this song is phenomenol! Screams sex appeal..damn!

  • turns on *__*

  • Is Nick Rhodes beckoning down the Dove From Above at 2.36?

  • This video appears to be brimming with "craftwork". Scarlet woman summoning 4 horsemen, shadowy agents among the very population, secret games with women clad in indigo...there are more than the artists and creative directors trying to tell us something here, I think....or I'm just a class a paranoiac...either way...

  • Always loved the little tribute to Jean Cocteau.

  • it was a big side project, if you consider how famous they were in the same time with duran duran. For all my life i decleared that the eighties pop band like duran, spandau ballet, talk talk and many more... were formed by good musician with fresh ideas (not like now!)

listen to the "powerstation" too with robert palmer and the duran duran's bassist.

  • what a sound!!

  • This whole album is a work of art and timeless.

  • Those Englishmen sure know how to work the funky beats into this song! It's why I'm addicted to it all these years. 1985 was a kick-ass year for me.......back in the 8th grade that is lol!

  • Those guys had all qualities -musically gifted, financially savvy and goddam good looks! Guys all wanted to look like them and gals all wanted to land in their beds!

  • thank you for keeping this art on the ..."air".

  • Gran tema de Simon Lebbon, el legado de Duran Duran ¡¡¡

  • One of those sexy songs that you just cant get out of your head!! Love the black hair, very sexy, good video, very entertaining. When I was a kid I died my hair jet black because of this video, but I panicked when my mam said your father will kill you. He came from work and said nice hair pet !!! lol : - )

  • Just love listening to this extended version.

  • Choreography: the downfall of so many videos. As much as I love Simon and Nick, they are definitely not trained dancers. Makes me laugh every time.

  • This whole album is awesome - love listening to it!

  • On vinyl and on cassette ...

  • On vinyl and on cassette ...

  • I didnt have this on vinyl...I had it on cassette..."The Best Album Duran Duran Never Made"

  • i cannot wait for the day.......02 sn when mr le bon is better totally,it will happen belive me

  • this song is so sexi god

  • Ver esto me llena el alma!!!!! Arcadia 1985

  • Ver esto me llena el alma!!!!!

  • This song imo sounds the most like Duran Duran. I guess that is why it was the first single from the album, but it is the least often listened to (by me) of all the arcadia songs.

  • Masterpiece! 10,000 times wonderful clip and song!

  • thumbs up if you were a teen in the 80s!!!

  • Both Duran Duran side-projects (at least thats how I consider both Arcadia and Power Station) produced amazing music. Loved their work back then, still loving it now.

  • I still have the original vinyl of So Red The Rose that I bought as a teenager and now I have the special edition pack with the remastered and remixed versions and the DVD. This has always been my favourite album. Does anyone remember the code? If so....

    32 38 44 58 24 52 32 40 44 42 16 42 22 42 32 20 36

    26 44 50 24 06 24 50 !!

  • @SapphireCascade AAARRRRRG I'm going to have to go and dig it out now...

  • Just love this. Always have. I've never been able to decide whether I prefer the Power Station or Arcadia. But it's not a decision I have to make.

  • The lyrics to this song have always fascinated me. WHAT are they talking about ?

The apocalypse, maybe ? Maybe nothing at all....

  • @JoshuaTaylor I agree- it's weird but I've always liked it(plus "Goodbye Is Forever") from "So Red The Rose". According to the "Songfacts" website, Nick Rhodes took the name "Arcadia" from a Poussin painting, showing shepherds around a tomb that said: "Et in Arcadia ego"("Even In Arcadia, There I Am")- also from a phrase found in Virgils's fifth eclogue. "Arcadia" is a central plateau of Southern Greece. It's inhabitants, isolated from the rest of the world, were romanticized by poets/writers.

  • It's like Duran Duran and the Cure had a baby. Nick looks like a gothed-out Jareth from Labyrinth.

  • Even compared to the guy with the moustache and poney tail at 3:10?

  • 5 STARS * * * * *

  • THE WHOLE ALBUM IS A PRECIOUS MUSIC DIAMOND !!

  • there is no way in hell or heaven that ANY of us creeps can ever be this hot......

  • Could you imagine the Asian version of the title?

    "Erection Day"

  • Nick and Simon are SOOO sexy in this video!! :D

  • @arigatoMJ I prefer the girls more :D

  • @arigatoMJ I prefer the girls more :D

  • @arigatoMJ agreed, and their hair is fabulous as well

  • Simon, Nick and Roger get artsy with help of girlies, moody direction and PVC. Always loved Grace Jones on these Arcadia tracks.

  • wish they would have made another album!

  • ♥More playtime than money......mmmmmmm chemistry or what...... goooood lord, they are all sooooo sexxxxaaay♥

  • i soooo hate everybody!!! except our fellow human beings suffering in the aftermath of the terrible tsunami in japan... may peace be with them

  • Einfach genial, dieser Titel erinnert mich an die schönen 80er Jahre

  • Met the love of your life and got divorced? Helloooooo....

  • this is the first time i've listened to it,

    i'm in love

  • The Powerstation was the better of the two Duran Duran side projects by far. But this is still a great song!!!

  • @MikeDiamond69

no, powerstation sucks comparing to arcadia!

  • @floersche Oh honey! You cannot compare the two. They are both good in there own right. One is edging on rock the other on techo/new wave.. I am a die-hard D2 fan & not only do I have both albums but 12"s for both bands and saw both in concert. Loved both :)

  • @floersche if you're a Robert Palmer fan you'll be loving Power Station album i'd say don't compare Arcadia to Duran Duran..lol

  • @MikeDiamond69 I must respectfully disagree about which 'side-project' was better. Thought 'So Red the Rose' was a brilliant effort. Power Station was okay. Had to say it.

  • @MikeDiamond69

Sorry Mike, not even close! While Power Station had a few decent tracks and the best single (Some Like It Hot) between both projects, the PS album couldn't hold a candle to Arcadia's "So Red the Rose". It was once called the best Duran Duran album they never made. I'd have to agree!

  • Grace Jones es grande!!! 4:16

  • Grace Jones es grande!!!

  • 2:35 this reminds me of reproductive parts,

  • OMG...forgot Grace Jones was in this!!!

    Thanks!

  • Awesome song for strippers to dance to. Take my word for it.

  • Why oh why did Grace Jones not appear in this video? :(

  • Nick´s dance... *LOL!*

  • Man, the Arcadia album So Red the Rose was my favorite album when I was a freshman in undergrad (1987). Good memories!

  • He is walking around this place looking for the future mother of his children.

  • Yum.. Always loved this stylish, sexy song. No one writes esoteric poetry like Simon. This is what "pop" music used to be like.

  • Damn Simon's such a fine looking man....yumyumyumyumo!!!!!!!!

  • The production values of this song owe a HUGE debt to George Martin, of Beatles fame. Were it not for, "I Am the Walrus" this song, this studio trickery, would not exist.

  • @JoshuaTaylor : You're right, noone else used "studio trickery" before then and if George hadn't have invented it, we'd all still be listening to music recorded directly onto wax cylinders. *facepalms*

  • @belpernews I think you know what you can do with your "wax cylinder". I was attempting to make an intelligent comment on how studio production has evolved over the years. Unfortunately, many YouTube readers have not.

  • @belpernews Brilliant response

  • I loved this song growing up first time seeing video thou pretty lame guy looks like adam lambert lol

  • u cant dance/walk like dat anymore in the streets :( u wud get arrested 4 bein pissed

  • i miss this kind of music and time i love the 80s music and style i am 40 now i miss being teen and all i wish i could go back and enjoy having my mom and dad back living ...... i misss all this:(

  • Great video! Thanks for sharing this! The security cats rate it all paws up!

  • Wow the video filled with self absorbed vampires! Imagine that......only today it's acow that is being milked dry. But Simon LEBon is HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even today he is fine!

  • Ah yes. Back when music had treble and people actually sang rather than sticking their vocals through filters til it sounded like they were singing through a sock, back when sings had actual drum lines rather than dum tch dum tch dumtch dum tch, back when lyrics could be about anything you liked and people could wear what they wanted and music was about what it sounded like...

  • @sibeliandrift ... and we had huuuuge fun :)

  • Ahhh, the 80's, how I miss them. Great song to drive to in my once 71 Corvette Stingray.

  • The Consensus Mix! :-) Used to bump this ALL the time back in `85!

  • 1985 always wished i was taller/better looking and was hooked the day i heard this song. even now when ive got it in my ears(mp3) i want to break into that dance/walk simon does and forget whos looking, when i walk down the street m49

  • PULL MY SHIRT OFF AND PRAY! Blah blah! (screeches). Sceebadeebadeebadoo. Howd you fit in with this flim flam and judy?

  • I still have my cassette from the 80's! I loved Arcadia!

  • Simon is cRAZY sexy/cute/hot in this one!!!!!

  • As a long time fan of DD and Arcadia too, anyone else think that Simon and the guys had really strange lyrics to their songs that made NO SENSE, especially the lyrics to THIS song. Flim, flam and judy? All over you as they say rumours or rivals yell at the strike force

Hi guys, by the way, are you aware you're being illegal

  • @cjs33139 At the time a lot of bands wrote lyrics that actively encouraged multiple re-interpretations. Pop music was considered an advanced art and the experience was supposed to have levels and many meanings. Almost like a Tarot deck. Siouxise and the Banshees did this as well.

Perhaps think of the song as a kind of sonic Tarot card...?

  • VERY NICE - almost forgot this song ;-) - now i remember again *hehe*

  • Simon Le Bon <3.....

  • Thumbs up if you have this on vinyl!

  • @GoGoGadgetBeer yep , the 12" single!

  • @GoGoGadgetBeer i bought the cd a few weeks ago..= )

  • @GoGoGadgetBeer I Had ! BoohoohooOoo...

  • one person hit the dislike button 25 times...haha

  • These guys were uber-cool, in 1986....I still envy them to this day!

  • Shouldn't be asking... Wild and scheming Could be my election day Maximum big surprise You know something new I pull my shirt off and pray We're sacred and bound To suffer the heatwave Pull my shirt off and pray We're coming up on re-election day
  • I was just browsing old Duran Duran, and saw reference to Arcadia. I'd forgotten all about that subset of their music. Damn. So Red the Rose was a beautiful album!. And seeing this vid again after all these years...nostalgia! What a treat!

  • @wowtcg What's wrong with a little reminiscing?

  • I Love Nick Rhodes ! When I was a Senior in high school (1986), I married Nick in my own private ceremony behind the gym. It's been 24 years. And I am still madly in love with you ! -Joel

  • @joelerickira That's strange; I married gorgeous Nick in 1986 too! :)

  • AWESOME VIDEO...

  • Simon and Nick are so fucking sexy... I'm addicted and obsessed right now with them!!!

  • I love Nick with Black Hair ... His eyes just stand right out .. Mmmmm

  • best song about election day

  • I am a Simon lover but Nick looked so good in this video:)

  • Maximum big surprise!

  • Happy election day!

  • Business in the front, Party in the Back Nick.

  • Im a duranie forever, even if misguided fools sometimes mock them.

  • the whole song is sexy...i always love the grace jones spoken part...

  • I had the best dream about Simon last night.... *sigh*

  • lordie they look so young compared to now lol

  • Quite a song, quite a video....

  • Loving the super crisp sound quality on this one!! : )

First time listening to the extended version of this track. Fell in love with it all over again after more than two decades!!!

  • This video was filmed exactly 25 years ago.. september 1985.. Happy anniversary Arcadia haha! wooo.. love the 80's

  • Does anyone know the woman at 3:11?

  • Comment removed

  • @Boofuzzled I am referring to the woman we see at 3:11

  • What was the point of forming Arcadia? They don't sound very different from Duran Duran.

  • @sweiland75 I think they sound very different. This music is more complex and deeper than Duran Duran music. It has more layers than standard Duran Duran songs.

  • The background talking sounds like a German sample!?! Anyone?

  • Great song, reminds me of Halloween 85, but a terrible, amateurish video full of pointless shots of models that have nothing to do with the song or the band (Le Bon reminds me of Dracula in this one). Duran Duran made some excellent videos, this Arcadia song sadly didn't get a video as good.

  • Nothing compares to the 80's. Nothing. God I wish I could go back their. And Nick is uber sexy in this.

  • I could not find Roger in this video.

  • @tmhktkh Roger only did the recordings in the studio but did'nt join Nick & Simon in the Process of Making videos.

  • Visit my profil . Tank you.bye

  • What is this song suppose to mean? Does it have a secret meaning? We are coming up on re election. Is this song about Masonic Politics in England?

  • Damn awsome group, very talented.. Oh and cool song.

  • co·caine /koʊˈkeɪn/

    –noun Pharmacology .

a bitter, crystalline alkaloid, C 17 H 21 NO 4 , obtained from coca leaves, used as a local anesthetic and also widely used as an illicit drug for its stimulant and euphorigenic properties.

  • typically eighties...

  • STILL love love this song~ best album Duran Duran "never" made~ lol

  • ground-muthafucking-breaking. still misunderstood.

  • Duran Duran did some awesome music back then, also as Power station and Arcadia

  • Why is no one here mentioning how that is David Gilmour on Stratocaster?

  • Super-fantastic Quality to this video. I like the longer version of the song. It makes you believe you're in the middle of a dream sequience. Always loved this song.

  • Oh Yeah..!!!!

  • Ah! The eighties,i remember them well.Met the love of my life, had kids,

    got divorced.....Great times,Great Music, a timeless classic.....

  • @101jumpit LOL, they were the best, 80's!!!!!

  • @101jumpit I hear ya on those great great memories! College and lovin the love of our lives while partying to the max! I put some holes in some walls back then. Was a B-52's boy! {:>

  • @101jumpit

......Met the love of my life, had kids, got divorced...... paying alimony, sell the house, give away half your belongings, what a great time that must bin. Dude, didn't you watch RAW from eddy murphy?

  • @101jumpit

And the 8-bit game too. Do you remember? The first Mario game, Space Invaders, Pac Man and other stuffs?

  • just amazing.

  • Ahhh... love the band, love the video, love the song. And...

    LMFAO AT 2:19 xD

  • The Masters of Techno........Timeless

  • Isn't Nick Sexy or What and Simon is so Cute with his Dancing

  • @perpetual61 Mhmmm! :DD

  • @perpetual61

I think Nick and Simon were trying too hard to look sexy.

  • can´t never get enough of it.....

  • Gosh...the eighties were SOOO much better!!1The music people hear today is so horrible!!!I wish I lived in the eighties!!!music was better, people REALLY KNEW HOW TO MAKE SONGS AT THAT TIME!!!!it was so fun!!!

  • @heloisamariani I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU.....

  • @heloisamariani yeah we only had a thousand missiles pointing at all out cities that could usher in human extinction at a moments notice.

    It was FUN! :/

Just kidding. It was fun, terrible, miserable, exciting all rolled into one.

  • when i was an 18 year old in hulme in manchester i'm sure i was the only man among my mates that effing loved this song.
