I have to respectfully disagree with you DaddyD912, about the audience cheering during the performance. The exchange of energy between an artist and their audience is an integral part of the emotion music invokes.
I love this song and this is by far the best performance I have ever seen of it. He sings it beautifully with the perfect amount of emotion. Only thing I hate about this is the audience. They need to wait until the end to cheer. Takes away from the emotional beauty of it with people cheering every 10sec. Not that he doesn't deserve it he truly does but just wait until the end.

Once in a while the voters get it wrong (like with Chris Daughtry or Clay Aiken), but sometimes you have more than one great talent on one show...like Josh and Melanie on X-Factor.

@musso11223344 According to an interview he did not long after the show finished, he was going to meet with Front Line Management, the company that oversaw the talents on the show, to start work on an album, which he hopes to have out by the end of this year (2012). He's also gone to London to work with people in the business, and he's anxious to get to to work on it.

Josh was on this show for a reason, and he didn't win for a reason. He doesn't need the attention and fame. He is a true artist. The music industry is a dark, terrible place, and I think Josh is better off without it. However, good for him for making it this far on the show. He needed a little bit of recognition.
I really think Josh should've won. Sure, Melanie Amaro has a good voice, but, we already have so many of "her kind" in the music industry. Her voice is common, while Josh's, isn't. Josh brings emotion and life to the stage. He is the real deal. No need for get-ups or anything. He stayed himself throughout the whole competition. In my book, he is the real winner. Coming from a 13 year old girl, I don't think this means anything, but Josh, he is a keeper!

I'll be honest, the song choice itself was great if you can just sing it, because every artist before him that has ever covered it has changed it to some degree. And then at 3:30 he changes the word "somebody" to "someone" and made nitpickers like me be like "wtf that doesn't make sense" and then... immediately afterward... he frickin' punches it into overdrive, whips out his voice and slaps you across the face with it. Awesome. Frickin' awesome, man. Double rainbow all across the sky, dude.
