Am I doing it wrong that I tend to play pyro as more defensive? I put out teammates on fire I protect medics and buildings from spys, I airblast Ubers away from sentries, and I guard sentries by air blasting rockets and bombs? I've always felt that the pyro is either protecting or occasionally ubering to burn sentries down.... Does anyone think I'm nuts or is "suicidal" the way you play pyro?

More than once you ran right in front of a heavy that had his minigun spun up.  That is just plain noobish. The heavy will take you down in half a second at point blank.

backburner does less damage or somthin but when you burn thier back it crits

The Backburner doesn't have the Compression Blast which allows the Pyro to reflect rocket, grenades, jarates, etc.

The upside is that it does 100% crits when hitting the back of an enemy.

Alot of the time on RED I'll just run to the chokepoint, wait for the rockets and grenades to fly and start blasting them back. In one game (badwater I think) I got like 15 kills while defending the rooftop. That new map (steve's swamp adventure???) is perfect for airblasting stuff back.
