@Joshxasman I wouldn't say by then, since Bass was introduced in this game. Up until after 8 would be around the time where Zero is being made, as for X that's a little more of a mystery but judging how things went they were probably in the process of being made at the same time if not X happened later. Besides Dr. Light showed no signs of sickness in 8 9 and 10 or power battle and power fighters and Dr. Light was sick and dieing when he made X.

he is not more than a robot actually. He does not even say that in the japanese version. where he simply points his buster at Wily, scaring wily into the "You... attack me? but Im human!" to which megaman does not respond. he just goes "...."
Never appreciated quite how good that ending cutscene was when I was younger. I always loved Megaman's desire to wipe out wily in the scene immediately after the battle, but there are subtle touches to the walking away scene. Megaman's facial expressions changing from time to time, but usually showing anger. Didn't notice it before. The music is intriguing. It can be interpreted differently but now I hear it and think it means "Goddamnit I had Wily dead to rights and I let him get away! RAGE!"
@eltornado1978 From what I've heard, they took out that part in the ending for the game on the PS2 version of the compilation due to some copyright issue. The game utilizes Super Nintendo's Mode 7 in that part. I think it was kept in there on the Gamecube version.
I have the GC version and it isn't there. I thought it was just that the programmers at Atomic planet were too lazy to spend the time on figuring out a way to emulate mode 7, and had nothing to do with copyright issues. At least that's what I've heard.
Though, who knows on this place we call the internet. :P

I gotta say, MegaMan 7 is my favorite MM game ever. It's tough to admit it's better than 2 or 3 and I know a lot of people might chastise me for it, but something about MM7 just hits me directly in the heart. The 8 robot masters are just so diverse, the atmosphere is magical, and the music fucking incredibly moving. The only thing I disliked about it was BurstMan. Seriously, I hope Capcom makes another MM game in SNES style.

Well see, lots of rumors went around that they weren't able to implement mode 7 into the ending for the PS2 version since PS2 cant HANDLE mode 7 it seems.
I can't describe it very well but I'll try my best...
Mode 7 is something that was included in the SNES that allowed for pseudo-3d effects. F-Zero would be a good example of this, since the whole game is done in Mode 7 pretty much.
When Megaman walks and the background is scrolling with him, THAT'S mode 7. Gives the illusion of 3d effects. Plus it gives games a lot of depth.
@MECHASWORLD2020 Which in turn would mean the Zero/Sigma virus would never have come into existence, which wouldn't have caused the Elf Wars, which wouldn't have made Dr.Weil immortal and genocidal, who wouldn't have been reborn as Model W. Not only that, but humans and reploids might not have merged if this all didn't happen, which wouldn't have created the carbons and wouldn't have made humanity die out. All of the chaos of the future would have never happened if Megaman shot Wily now.
the irony is that he doesn't say the "I'm more than a robot" in the japaneses version, and when willy tells him he can't harm humans, rock freezes and does nothing, well, a least he keep his buster charged and aiming willy,
also remember that the robot masters(Rock included) Are programmed unther the Assimov's Laws of Robotics (also remmember thath the hability of X and the later reeploids to be able to break them is an important plot element in the X and later series) they only become hostile after someone reprogramed them
Did they fix the "You better tell me who you are?" mistake in the intro battle against Bass? I've heard that they censored "damn" from one of Bass's lines though, so why not bother to check the grammar a bit? Odd.
Mega Man definately should have killed Dr. Wily. X could've pulled the trigger in time, but it didn't matter because he was up against robots. I was glad to see Mega Man finally wanted Wily to just die.
omg!! i just remembered that ive seen bass on megaman x1 i had a gameboy version of it and he was on a helicopter i wonder if anyone ever saw him other than me...Treble is in megaman x1 too

The first time I beat MM7 back on the SNES and saw this ending, I was hoping MM8 would be made since it wasn't given any resolve. But with the way MM8 begins and plays out, it's almost as if the ending dialog NEVER took place (such as in the intro of MM8 Mega Man says Bass is not his enemy, even though he knows Wily created him and wants Mega Man destroyed). All in all, Mega Man 8 was terrible but this game is amongst the best of the series. Here's to hoping MM9 is just as good or greater.
It's weird, I ended the Megaman 7 in the Megaman collection for Ps2, but I never saw this animation at the ending credits, I wonder what could have happend to it?
The company commissioned to put together the collection found the graphics to be too complicated to put into the systems...certainly they could have figured out a way to do it - even if with a video file recording it from the SNES sequence or even just still shots. Plus other games have been ported using the same kind of graphics from the SNES without any problems for those companies from what I have read. Instead, they just left us with a blank screen.

Wily used the Robot Masters to attack cities and conquer territories. I dont believe that no human was killed during those attacks.
After 7 attempts of conquering the world, I suppose Megaman though killing Wily was the best for all.

It's not in any version.
Atomic Planet claim that they couldn't emulate the Mode 7 properly.
But I doubt they tried since the Anniversary edition is a sloppy port job of the games.

They fixed them both. They would of allowed Bass to say damn, but the E10 rating wasn't made yet. It was replaced with darn.
