All this robotics is awesome in a practical sense but as far as making an actual android that isn't missing legs and isn't hooked up to an actual computer, won't ever happen. We're limited in too many areas, including Earthly resources, to be able to pull off something like that. We haven't mastered the right kind of energy yet, electricity won't cut it.

I admit when I first watched this I wasn't quite sure what I was seeing, and I got a bit of that "uncanny valley" aversion when I found out that Geminoid was an android. However I don't feel it anymore, familiarity with the videos and with Geminoid has removed those reactions.

Impressive! However it will still be many years before we will see truly human-like robot. Mainly I mean intelligence (how can we reproduce something we don't really understand?). There's also a problem with hearing - even with most advanced androids you have to speak directly to a microphone. Not to mention energy source which needs to be powerful, small and light.
